I have never regretted anything more in my life. Took mifepristone a couple of days ago. My heart is broken. I don't want to proceed with second tablets.

Has anyone done this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I am beside myself. Tried ringing EPU but they are closed on weekend. Spoke to out of hours GP who said he knew nothing about the tablets and that I need to speak to gynae but there's no one there. I feel such a mess.

@Riah93x

My little boy was born last month and is perfectly healthy. I had no complications from taking the tablet, thank god, and I treasure my beautiful boy and still feel sick about what might have happened. I hope everything works out for you.

What a wonderful update, massive congratulations. Please don't carry forward any guilt about this, things happen for a reason and it took you taking that tablet for you to realise how much you love and want this wee baby - that's fine, try and see it as a positive. You are clearly a loving mum and your son is lucky to have you. No more guilt, just enjoy your lovely baby.

Congrats to you and your little gift of a child, sooo happy things worked out for you and treasure him close and wishing you all the best. Big hugs and love to you both and so nice you updated and to hear such uplifting news amongst all the doom and gloom in the world. xx

PineForestsAndSunshine · 22/07/2022 16:21

Congratulations OP! I'm so glad things worked out for you.

@Laura346 no one can tell you not to have regrets, but please don't blame yourself. You did nothing wrong. I agree that women should receive more information about the process. Information is power. You made the best decision given the information you had at the time. I'm so sorry there wasn't the support and information available to you when you really needed it.

I would respectfully disagree this was a 'life saved' but it was certainly a very wanted life created - and I'm so pleased for the OP :)

Famalamabunfight · 22/07/2022 16:52

@PineForestsAndSunshine If a life isn’t ended, how is it not saved?

@PineForestsAndSunshine If a life isn’t ended, how is it not saved?

It's just a bit insensitive on the pregnancy choices board to refer to an abortion that didn't go ahead as a "life saved"

Dreamwhisper · 22/07/2022 16:59

But sorry OP I thought I had already posted - I read the thread when it came up on active and held my breath from the first post to your latest update - I'm so so happy things worked out for you and huge congratulations on your baby Flowers

Famalamabunfight · 22/07/2022 17:01

Yes I certainly don’t want to derail the thread

Macaroni1924 · 22/07/2022 17:26

Wow absolutely delighted for you! This has made me all teary, so glad that everything worked out for you. However please do one thing, cherish every moment and forget the past, it’s all worked out in the end so no regrets. Don’t dwell on what could have been and enjoy what is right here and now! Wish you all a happy and healthy future 🥰

KisstheTeapot14 · 22/07/2022 17:54

Ahhhh, what brilliant news, so happy for you and your little boy. Thanks for coming back to tell us.

As above, the past is done. It's all about the present and the future now. Enjoy the lovely bits and wishing you strength for the challenges of babyhood and beyond. Remember we are here for all of it, the good days and the not so good days.

Glad the collective wisdom of Mumsnet stepped in when you were short of good advice and info. Does that make us all aunties (and uncles) now to your DS?

Well, I'd like to think so.

Xenia · 22/07/2022 18:22

Congratulations on the birth of the baby.
vroom321 - it probably depends on the woman and her body and I doubt the first has no impact but it is probably less certain if you have the first and not then the second one.

Mamaof2cuties · 22/07/2022 18:41

Why, this is pregnancy choices, we are lucky to have a choice in this country and to have the chance to change our mind

jayneyitscastleblayney · 22/07/2022 23:05

I think that's a wilfully ignorant response.
