I have never regretted anything more in my life. Took mifepristone a couple of days ago. My heart is broken. I don't want to proceed with second tablets.

Has anyone done this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I am beside myself. Tried ringing EPU but they are closed on weekend. Spoke to out of hours GP who said he knew nothing about the tablets and that I need to speak to gynae but there's no one there. I feel such a mess.

@Almostmenopausal Was this quite some time ago? They don't check for a heartbeat before the second pills nowadays. It also doesn't matter if the pregnancy has ended or not before you take the Misoprostol because those pills unequivocally do end the pregnancy, whether the Mifepristone did or not. The stuff I got from clinic said something like only 1 in 10 chance that the first pill would completely end the pregnancy, hence how important it was to continue with the second pills.

Good luck, OP. I'm rooting for you.

I feel naive now for feeling so hopeful. I will ring GP/ EPU tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.

I'm sure it will be fine, OP! Just worth checking in case they have any protocols for this type of thing, just to be on the safe side.

Glad to hear the little bean seems OK

Viviennemary · 08/11/2021 19:21

Sad though it is I dont think there is a great chance of the pregnancy surviving this. Medically speaking. More time is needed to be anywhere near sure.

Abortion Pill Reversal is a protocol that has been designed by researchers and physicians for women like you, who initiated a medical abortion and changed their minds. It works by taking progesterone, the natural hormone essential for pregnancy that is being blocked by the abortion pill.

If you want to reverse an abortion, though, you need to receive the first dose of progesterone in the following 24 to 72 hours after taking mifepristone. The sooner you start the abortion pill reversal protocol, the higher your chances of saving your pregnancy.

Just had a google (sure you have too tbh, but just incase.)
I really hope you get what you want OP Flowers

Thank you, but it's now been 72 hours, and I won't be able to speak to a GP until tomorrow morning. I guess all I can do is wait and hope.

@Fabuleuse

I'm so sorry for your situation. There is a chance all will be ok if you wait it out. There were some doctors who would prescribe progesterone for this purpose but they are currently banned from doing so in the UK. You may wish to contact an organisation like ARCH for support and to see if there is any further advice they can give. www.archtrust.org.uk/ I really hope everything goes well for you. All the best.
Prescribe progesterone for what purpose? To counter the effects of the mifepristone? Or prescribe progesterone to induce an abortion?
Martyitsyourkids · 08/11/2021 22:46

Fingers crossed for you 💐

Thanks for your well wishes everyone.

Unfortunately I've had some brown bleeding last night and this morning with some mild cramps so not feeling so positive, although I did have bleeding on and off throughout first few weeks of pregnancy anyway. Have a scan booked at EPU tomorrow and we are going to have a chat about everything depending on outcome of that.

@Regret89

Try and stay positive until you know 100%

georgarina · 09/11/2021 12:33

@Regret89 don't lose hope, this also happened to the other poster. There is a chance your body is just reacting to the hormone dip from the pill and will recover. Good luck x

Fabuleuse · 09/11/2021 13:40

@Regret89 thinking of you and hoping all turns out well.

Ah I see, thanks.

Bleeding has picked up this morning. I will be very very surprised if the Sonographer has anything positive to say today.
