@Girl2020 I am going to be the exact same, as much as I want to do it and get it over with I am scared something bad is going to go wrong. There are so many stories on here and all seems to have gone ok. Good luck x

On the first tablet does anyone know what time of day is best to take it and do you feel ok after it? I keep thinking would it be easier at night time. @sunnydays3 I know it’s such a horrible feeling I have been like that for weeks and now it’s come to it I can’t do it. My heads a mess and my hormones are all over the place.

Hi @Girl2020 sorry that you have found yourself in this situation. I had an abortion around 4 years ago now. The first tablet had very little effect on me. I had slight bleeding but nowhere near as much as a period. No pain or unwanted side effects. Then I had 4 tablets to insert around half an hour after this I started bleeding quite heavily. I just sat on the loo for a bit and had mild cramps. I was around 6 weeks pregnant. It was not as scary as I imagined it to be- it wasn’t nice but not painful. If there was a big risk then they would not be posting tablets out for use at home. Ring your gp or nurse for advice you’ve got to do what you feel is right x

Girl2020 · 14/05/2020 21:47

@Sophj19 what time did you take the first tablets? Day or evening and when did you then follow up with the vaginal ones? X

I have taken the tablets. After the first lot I felt fine. Nothing. After the second lot it was about an hour and I had period cramps and passed blood and jelly clots into the loo. It wasn't more painful than a period. I didn't feel sick or anything.
You will be fine x

@inmyshedsmoking2000 did you take the first tablet in the day or evening? I was thinking of taking it now

Sophj19 · 14/05/2020 22:13

@girl2020 I took it in the day, I don’t think what time you take it will matter do whatever makes you feel comfortable. I think the vaginal ones were 2 or 3 days later... I had to go to family planning clinic for mine.

limezandlemonz · 14/05/2020 22:13

I'm in similar position - have the telephone consultation tomorrow. I know I'll struggle to take the tablets as fear of the unknown but I also cry every time I think about the alternative.....

Thinking of you OP.

limezandlemonz · 14/05/2020 22:35

Are you 100% sure you want to go through with this? Is it definitely just the fear of side effects stopping you or that you are not sure?

Girl2020 · 14/05/2020 22:39

@limezandlemonz I don’t want children yet in the future yes but not now. I’m just scared it goes wrong and you never know what the future will hold

I had to take mine in hospital so they could monitor me if I was sick and bought them back up again so they could give me some more. Mine were because of a miscarriage that had taken 5 weeks to pass. Bleeding and cramping wise for me on the tablets. Well apart from a sudden sharp pain across my tummy that sort of made me wince and go ow whilst driving home from the hospital I had no pain at all and hardly any bleeding apart from what I already had. I didn't think they'd worked and was ready to go back on the Monday to get the rest of them. I didn't need to though because on the Saturday night Bub came out. I was like that regarding a D&C I was all for it until the Dr was like well we may perforate your womb, it might effect your fertility blah blah blah. After 15+ years of TTC and 4 miscarriages I wasn't taking that chance and just said to him nah you've put me right off that one. To be honest I probably would've just continued naturally but I was worried about infections and just wanted some closure. Plus it was hard knowing that after having 2 weeks off work when I first found out I was miscarrying knowing that when I went back I still was 3 weeks afterwards. Is it misoprostol you have?

Girl2020 · 14/05/2020 23:17

@Lozz22 thank you for sharing your story. Yess it is x

I had abortion pills a few years ago. It caused what was like a very heavy period and cramps, but it was fine, and I was happy as I really didn't want to have a baby.

I also tried to have an abortion in my late teens but I freaked out so the doctors wouldn't do it.

Please don't worry. If you don't want a baby you need to take the pills. If you are not sure whether you want the baby or not, you need to find someone to have a sensible conversation about your fears with.

Chatons · 14/05/2020 23:35

Are there instructions with the meds? They should tell you the best times to take them, and if you need to eat something with it.

Where is your partner? Does he need a kick?

Is there anyone in your life to support you in this? Anyone you can ring? We are here of course!

If anything frightening happens you can call 111 or go to A&E.

inmyshedsmoking2000 · 14/05/2020 23:41

I took it in the afternoon x

limezandlemonz · 15/05/2020 07:52
