liahgen66 · 18/07/2010 16:37

ah thanks girls, Am so worried but I really need to chill and try and enjoy what will be our last pregnancy, I know the time will fly.

buffy I normally am mad about cleaning when preg, it's more about the smells of the products though I have to say so I understand. Oh yes, that and soap, you know the old stuff, palmolive, coal tar, that kind of thing.

louisesh · 18/07/2010 17:49

Hi LIAGHGEN welcome X

sotough · 18/07/2010 18:43

hi, can i join you all?
i've had four miscarriages in a row and am now 14 weeks pregnant, which is amazing. i am kind of traumatised by all the miscarriages and hugely anxious about this pregnancy despite having passed the holy grail 12 week mark. (all my miscarriages were around 7-9 weeks). We've had two years of hell and it's hard to believe we've got where we are now - really it seems a miracle. Every day i expect it to go wrong. we had a very detailed scan on friday and the baby was looking nice and strong. but hey, i'm still worrying about everything. i'm sure you all know what it's like .

Muser · 18/07/2010 19:50

Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy. No wonder you're still nervous with your history. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

sotough · 18/07/2010 19:57

thanks. can i ask you all, have you dared have sex at all, since your BFPs?
my poor DH is going spare, as we haven't had any "action" since i found out i was pregnant due to my total paranoia about doing anything that might constitute a "risk."
i finally caved in this morning and let him get jiggy but have spent most of the day worrying about it and now really wish i had maintained my "ban". He is totally understanding about how i feel and not giving me a hard time about the no sex thing but i know he hates it.
anyone also worried about this?

Muser · 18/07/2010 20:02

It is absolutely fine to have sex, please don't worry yourself about it. We haven't, but only because I've felt too sick. Once my sickness goes then action will be back on.

clareanna · 18/07/2010 20:13

liaghen wonderful news- so pleased to see you here!
sotough what a difficult couple of years you've had- fantastic that you're past the 12 week mark- must be a big relief. Welcome to the thread.

cleaning bug hasn't hit me yet- mainly the rolling around on the sofa knackered bug!

LadyBee · 18/07/2010 21:05

Liahgen, how lovely to see you here, congratulations! Oh I so hope this works out for you - courage!

Lots of tired ladies on here tonight - we only went to a farmers market and I'm still knackered. Unbuffy there's a floor in SE London that could do with your attention if the urge strikes.

sotough, good lord, I'm in awe of all the ladies on here - they've gone through so much and you're going to be another inspiration. You'll find all the hand-holding, fish-slapping, and shoulder-squeezing you need here. Oh, and nope, no sex here please. We haven't even discussed it but DH is well aware that with DS (conceived after my first MC) I didn't let him near me for the first trimester, and I guess he's letting me take the lead on this one too.
I haven't really felt like sex, first too nervous, then nipples too odd, now too tired. Had a few nice dreams though

clareanna · 18/07/2010 21:12

ladybee lol at the dreams

Despite keeping up swi pace for about 2 weeks after bfp, I was getting so freaked out about the chance of bleeding (thanks to my dodgy cervix I am prone to bleed after sex when pg) that I've imposed a ban too- was just too anxious. Have been punished by the gods for such thinking with the arriva of re good duke or argyle as moof so eloquently called it!
Dh getting rather frustrated now!

louisesh · 18/07/2010 21:27

Welcome SOOTOUGH we ve all experienced what you have [at varying degrees]soo can totally empathise with you....Congrats x

Even though i m now 29 weeks we ve only had sex once ....Its my DH whos been too scared to come near me.....this is due to my history...1 MMC,1MC and 1 CP over the last 2 years soo ive not "forced" him [if you know what i mean?].....But its me thats getting desperate now!!!!!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend X

LadyBee · 18/07/2010 21:32

You've lost me Clareanna, but I'm sure more intelligent people than me know what you mean

I'm all achey. Doing my best to ignore it and watch silly Pirate movie on telly but it's just a bit nerve-wracking.

Oh did I tell you? Called the hospital last week to see if my outstanding referral had made it's way there yet? No.
Called GP, they swore it had been faxed three days prior.
Called hospital again, they swear again they're up-to-date and haven't got it.
Call GP again, they sigh and agree to fax it again.
Let's see if tomorrow brings confirmation that they've received it. Good old NHS admin eh?

boodleboot · 18/07/2010 22:36

Welcome to Sotough and liah - I remember you well from the previous thread, its lovely to see you here.

Bee Duke of Argyll's = piles. The only piece of Scottish ryhming slang I know!

Will try and catch up on everyone's news later -- we have a busy day and Toy Story tickets booked. Hope everyone is good x

Ba8y1 · 19/07/2010 10:00

Hi ladies

It has been a good 5 weeks since I've read or posted so sorry not to be up to date! Its lovely to see so many happy scans and newbies! I will try and keep more up to speed over the next few months!

I have spent the last couple of weeks moving house and it is not something I would recommend in the the first, oh so cripplingly draining trimester! I am only just recovering! It is so so lovely to be back in London though - how I have missed the noise and the smells, the air in the country was almost suffocatingly clean! and we are back in our own house so can actually start redecorating - yey - have developed the bug and wonder if its pregnancy related as have never been that fussed before - poss an early nesting instinct??!!

PG good at the mo (touch wood!) Caved in and went for a private scan at 10+3 as have to tell boss before the nuchal scan (she is going away for a month) and wanted to check there was something there! All good - heard the heartbeat (161bpm!!) and even saw the fingers - can't believe there is so much to see so early! I'm 11+3 today and have my next scan on Thursday - then I guess we'll have to 'go public' and I'll finally have the confidence to add myself to the list!!

Hope everyone else is well - will slowly catch up on everyone's news over the next few days I hope!

Meita · 19/07/2010 10:34

Hi all,

just dropping in quickly to say hi. Boodle, Louise good to hear from you both! I saw TFLS on another thread, she seems to be doing well too.
Welcome sotough and liah, sending lots of sticky vibes your way! I don't need them so much anymore

I suppose I'm on the home run now - only 4 weeks to go! Eek!
Unfortunately our planning application seems to have been declined. We'll have to see what we do now - we don't currently have a nursery/bedroom for the new arrival. That's fine for the first half year or so when we intend that baby should sleep in our room anyway, but what then?

Had a strange dream about a week ago. In that dream, I was feeling very sad, but kind of not consciously so, until somebody pushed me to acknowledge my feelings, when it all came crashing down. In the dream it was supposedly exactly 6 months after the sad thing had happened. The next day I suddenly realised that it was a year to the day since my MC. So perhaps I was subconsciously remembering the "anniversary" while consciously being preoccupied with the current pregnancy. Anyway, it was pretty weird.

So, enough for now - best wishes all round and I hope you all get a good start to the week!

Muser · 19/07/2010 10:39

Hi everyone. Had my 8 week scan today and everything looks good. Saw the baby and it's heartbeat. Measuring about right for dates. I have a tiny blurry picture where it looks like nothing, but I am so, so happy.

Goodluckbear · 19/07/2010 12:54

Muser - so happy for you!!!!!!!

randomimposter · 19/07/2010 16:34
toomuchteaching · 19/07/2010 17:03

Wow... what a couple of days. I'm still tired out from my last name check, so this is going to be brief. Just wanted to drop by and say congrats to newbies, you're so very welcome, and well done on good news for Muser, Ba8y1 and boodle.

As for the SwithoutI, I posted about this exact issue when I was new on here!! I imposed a ban until I gave in at around 10weeks... by then I'd had my private scan so I was feeling a bit more confident. It's not as regular as usual, but I feel better about it now. I think to be honest you have to only go for what you feel happy with, if it's going to make you worry then it wouldn't be enjoyable anyway IYSWIM.

All good here, except went in to my new job today, had my whole team there for a meeting to make plans for the new school year, so I actually feel really bad that when I arrive in September I'll be pretty obviously pregnant and it'll look like I've been leading them a merry dance... eek! Especially since I'm actually excited about my new job myself... oh well.

Have a lovely evening everyone, how about some slaves with big fans for the top of the list ladies?!

HappyGirl1 · 19/07/2010 17:32

Hello Ladies,

Having a bit of a tearful afternoon and so lovely to see the good news. Muser congrats on the 8 week scan - that's just great news.

Lia welcome to the thread - this is one fab support

sotough welcome to the thread also. I can't even begin to imagine what you have been through. I wish you a very sticky bean.

Ba8y congrats on your scan also!

Got the 20 week scan tomorrow, so nervous yet trying not to worry but clearly it's not working. Just hope everything is okay with baby. Going to be one long long night.

clareanna · 19/07/2010 18:32

fab news muse glad you got a scan pic! Happy best of luck for tomorrow.

meita bad news on the planning application - did they give a reason why it was turned down?

re previous post - must stop attempting to post on my phone - it always goes wrong!

Anyhoo - had my booking in appointment today, and was greeted with the words "what's happened to you then? according to this you're supposed to be giving birth next week?" aaah the good old NHS. I gave the MW a telling off, as I'd personally taken the letter from the EPU after my ERPC to the GP surgery myself to make sure it was there, and have had subsequent appts with the GPs so my MMC is definitely listed. Apparently the MWs use a different system and it's new...
I then proceeded to give the MW the lowdown on the MC code of conduct and suggest they could make some improvements as quite frankly she had made me feel shit.
Other than that, all fine!

Gi1da · 19/07/2010 19:24

Good for you on reading the riot act Clareanna that's outrageous NHS behaviour! Grrr!

Muse great scan news - am made up for you. That's bloody brilliant.

Big hug for Happy not long now and it WILL all be fine! (Gilda attempts hypnotism, look into my eyes, not around my eyes...)

Toomt oh well on the job front, timing can't be helped but they'll recognise your keenness and at least you'll have time to get your head around it all and get to know people before maternity leave so its easier to come back!

Liah a really big fat welcome! (BFW)

Meita knobs to the planning permission! Hope you get something through that works for you. OMG on the 4 weeks to go though! Does it feel like it's come around quickly?

Rolls eyes at Jolls. Honestly luv, you ARE up the duff!

Hello to Sotough crikey you deserve a place here! Welcome.

Moof thanks for explaining the Duke's farmers!

Bunny good luck with the move!

Unbuff another floor here waiting for a spruce up if you're bored! Cleaning bug hasn't got me though the painting bug has. I painted the top part of our stairway on Saturday (waited till DH was out so he didn't see me at the top of the extending ladder). Only one coat so far but I swear I WILL have a fresh, white house before I have to spend my maternity leave in it!

PS how are the puppies doing? Cute-arama?

Louisesh hope the cold's better now, nothing worse than having a cold in hot weather!

Sparkly I think your fish should be immortalised! Utterly trouting fabulous! >

A big wave to everybody, sorry to those I've missed out, there's quite a lot of us now which can only be a good thing (well relatively speaking if IYSWIM). Have been randomly checking in the ipod but work has been uber insane and I've been knackered so rather crap lack of posting, soz.

In summary: delighted to see new joiners (ahem at Jolls), great news on scans, hope everybody's feeling gorgeously rotund, and here's a little silliness for you.

Love to all.

BUnderTheBonnet · 19/07/2010 19:31

What a tactless comment from your mw clareanna and well done for telling her so. I hope she was embarrassed. What a stupid question.

I haven't posted for ages (nothing to say) but I have been reading. I have also been symptom spotting like mad. I am definitely more nauseous than last time, and my boobs have gone a bit mental. My number one positive symptom was that my hair stopped falling out - it did this with DD, but fell out in clumps during mc pregnancy. Anyway, it started falling out again this weekend, and I was wailing about it to DH. His response was "don't worry, it still looks nice". Men!

I have booked myself in for a private scan on Monday (thanks for the recommendation Alba - they sounded lovely on the phone) and I am pretty excited about that, but also bricking it. DH is just excited, because he lacks normal emotions, as far as I am concerned....

LadyBee · 19/07/2010 21:18

boodle that is seriously impressive, last time round once my bump got unmistakeably bump-like DH got a bad case of cold feet, so we had very small window of opportunity indeed.
I didn't mind too much though, was pretty uncomfortable and I'm not much good at adventure-positions so we just, you know. Got by . What I wasn't prepared for, was then when I was breastfeeding completely losing interest in anything - so the drought continued afterwards as well.

Moof aaaahhhhhhhhh. I see. Ta.

Ba8y1, hey fab news about the scan, that's wonderful. Oh and welcome back to the big smoke - get some of the london summer haze onto you .

Clareanna, I'm astounded at the midwife, I mean surely she could take an educated guess if the computer is telling her something that obviously doesn't look right. I hope you swore.

Meita - 4 weeks! Wow....you're getting a baybeee, you're getting a baybeee. Don't worry about 6 months hence, something will turn up. Perhaps a shed? Baby monitors are very effective these days

Finally, Muser that is wonderful news. I'm really hoping that your scan is entirely positive HappyGirl, so nervewracking, I know.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try to get a scan this week. I'll need to 'fess up to my manager to explain my problem regarding immunisations & travel to India, and would like to be more confident of my situation before I do that - she's away this week so if I can get one on Friday I'll do that.

Hi to everyone - lots of posting recently and I've missed a few I know.
