Fantastic way to start the week Stuffed Grin
sorry you're feeling rotten Ivy, crossing fingers it gets no worse for you, every pregnancy is different so here's hoping... It might be a particularly bad day? If not I do hope there are ways to help ease it.
Hopefully, I saw Dr to get MW referral at 12+5, right after 12 wk scan which I did privately. Seemed pointless before then... MW seemed quite unsurprised at 14 wk booking appt... Though I'd already met her in January so knew all the latest advice for 1st trimester. Since then though they've been great with reassurance appts with dopplers whenever I've been having a panic.

Effilump · 06/09/2010 14:16

Congrats meita He's absolutely gorgeous!
hello everyone and welcome to the newer ladies.

northerngoldilocks · 06/09/2010 16:45

Hi everyone,

Can I come and join you properly now pls? Got so stressed coming up to the 12 week scan so didn't want to post on here in case it wasn't good news, and found a 'head in the sand' approach worked best.

Alba - touched you remembered my scan was on Fri!

Anyway - as per Jolls congratulations (thank you), I had my 12 week scan on Friday. Everything is fine and I'm feeling a lot happier. Have even told family and work now, although still finding it strange that people expect me to be excited rather than totally terrified that everything will go wrong. My local hospital is Kings, so I'm really lucky in that they do the combined test and you get results whilst you wait and thankfully they moved in the right direction from my standard age related risk (I'm 32 which is apparently 1 in 450)so think that everything went as well as it could. Due date altered by a day too, so is now the 18th March. Will try to add myself to a list soon.

Looking forward to chatting with you all and getting to know you, as I said, didn't want to get too involved before (self preservation).

Meita - congratulations, sorry you had a bit of a scare after the birth but hope that things are continuing to go well at home.

AlbaDeTamble · 06/09/2010 17:42

Glad all went well NorthernG, such a huge relief to get past that big milestone... I remember feeling like I was floating, but also totally wiped out by nervous exhastion! I must confess though that my memory really isn't that good, I think it may have been our wonderfully efficient listkeeper Sam who added your stats some time ago, complete with next scan date Wink

northerngoldilocks · 06/09/2010 18:08

Alba i saw that after I'd posted Blush - will teach me not to pay attention to what's going on!!

Woohoo northern!!!!
Hope you can start to relax a bit now.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 07/09/2010 09:26

Welcome Northern!

Feel sick today....think it is anxiety induced rather than hormones........DD starts school tomorrow and have my scan........and breathe..........

HappyGirl1 · 07/09/2010 10:42

welcome Northern that's such great news! Totally understandable feelings wondering why people expect you to be excited when you are terrified. I was the EXACT same and even to some extent now even though I'm hopefully on my way now to baby arriving, I still get paranoid and really worried, especially because due date of MC baby is approaching in october. It's totally totally normal but do remember how fantastic it is to have now had your 12 week scan and for it all to be good news Smile. Delighted for you. I love hearing good news!

Hurray for you too Stuffed - great!!

Got lots of nausea the last 2 days again which at nearly 26+6 is a bit odd but I don't mind. Going to start doing proper baby kick counts I think. So so exhausted too but that's good good good.

Unbuffy · 07/09/2010 11:27

Attempting to update list, as you are aware I am very VERY bad at this so I'm very sorry in advance for all the mistakes I will doubtless have made! Can't beleive we're all getting on so fast, am starting to worry now - especially as the helpful community matron I saw AAAGES ago and who was supposed to be creating my 'pink form' birth plan with hopsital approval seems to have disappearde off the face of the planet. grrr. Can I start going 'ARRRGGGH' yet or should I leave that to you ladies at the top?!

Hello and Hi to everybody,
great news NGL, hope you feel a bit better now,
Alba hope you're feeling a bit more cheerful if not then hugs and happy thoughts
Happy good luck tomorrow, nerves suck
Yay Stuffed, excellent news
Hello everyne else, it's a bit mad around here so mad waves and will try to catch up betterer soon... The puppies are GOING (although we still ned to find a home for one) and I cleaned all the windows the bathroom and polished the brass doorknobs(!!!) on Friday when I was supposed to be having a quiet dd-free morning so I guess nesting is kicking in (so I'm glad to get rid of The Poobags) and we have temporarily given up on pottytraining as it is an abject failure.
So that's all the news at Buffytowers... best go and do some cupboard sorting...
xx to all xx

Hi all

Must get into habit of reading thread and posting every day. DC's back at school. Have got over a kidney infection and cold but still exausted all the time.
Have booked an extra midwife appt as it is too long from my scan at 13 weeks to the next at 21 weeks, I need a bit of reassurance so hopefully will be able to hear HB at 17 weeks.

Thanks ladies - will catch up tomorrow when she is at school!!!!!!! xx

northerngoldilocks · 08/09/2010 07:00

Magic just popping on to say good luck for today. I felt sick before my scan too and no amount of telling myself it wouldn't change the outcome helped. Anyway, have my fingers crossed and will be checking in for updates.

Hopefully · 08/09/2010 07:47

Magic good luck for scan today!

I have doc later, where I'm panicking he'll tell me it's too late to get a 12 week scan at 12 weeks, and I have to have it later. Have decided we'll go private if it's not till after 13 weeks, as I can't take the suspense.

Am still knackered beyond all knackeredness, but all other pregnancy symptoms have entirely evaporated, so am getting vaguely worried, but trying to remain philosophical. Knackeredness is also meaning I am worst mother ever to poor DS - at least an hour a day of Cbeebies (usually more like 2, if I'm being honest), lots of trying to find things to occupy him so I can sit down for five minutes without interacting. Unfortunately he is going through a major clingy stage, so mainly it doesn't work unless he's sat on my lap. Thought separation anxiety was meant to be at 12 months, not almost 2!

Muser · 08/09/2010 08:22

Good luck for today Magic8.

VivClicquot · 08/09/2010 08:47

Good luck for today lovely magic x

Today's the first day I've woken up and thought, "bleeeurgh" so I'm taking that as a good sign :)

AlbaDeTamble · 08/09/2010 08:54

Hopefully, good luck with Dr, and as for symptoms it's fairly common for sickness to wear off as placenta takes over, and you're still tired so all sounding good (if you can call exhaustion good Hmm?). As for clingy boys, my DS has just turned 3 and although can show huge independence is still very clingy at times and often wants cuddles especially if I'm feeling tired or unwell, I just try to make the most of it as before I know it he'll be a big smelly teenager who'll probably ignore me as much as possible!

Magic I have my fingers doubly tightly crossed for you and all your little ones... What a day! Hope all the tears will be of joy and relief and both school and scan go well so you can have a major celebration this afternoon.

I am worrying about DS's second morning at preschool. He's not good at being left except with family or his childminder. DH was the only parent who needed to stay all morning on Monday and now his childminder's dropping him off today and it's cold turkey (though we're all expecting phone calls). I'm the weak mother escaping to work (but feeling very nervous for him). Probably best it's not me dropping him as I'm quite sure I'd make it worse and trust our childminder to make all the right decisions, she's fab and has treats lined up for him later today. Wish we could fast forward a week or two to when this awful settlng period is over as I'm sure he's going to love it there very soon.

I'm still tired, still quite light headed from low blood pressure (v different to DS pregnancy) but thankfully the big black cloud has lifted a bit. Just knowing it was quite normal and probably hormone shift has helped a lot, as has long chats with DH about how had it is just now... So easy for them to get used to pregnancy and start expecting you to function as normal by now. All your advice really helped Unbuffy, definitely taking a day at a time. Hope you're continuing to feel happier too. Bet you'll miss those pups when they're all gone!

Meita, if you're reading, thinking of you and gorgeous little Ianto. Hope he's thriving now and you're surviving those hard work sleep deprived early days and enjoying him.

Top of the list ladies, very exciting that there's lots more baby news imminent! Thinking easy labour thoughts for you all. Bet the cooler weather is very welcome for you too.

Where's BUnder got to? No news after her 12 week scan... If you check in, do let us know how you're doing.

Liahgen, you've been quiet too and 12 week scan any day now. Thnking of you and hoping it's a wonderful relief and all is well, also for everyone else fast approaching that huge milestone.

And breathe... Just got a text from DS's lovely childminder to say he went in without a fuss just a mild hesitation. And I know she'd tell me right away if an problems as she always has. She's amazing!

Big waves to all, special squeeze for Viv, it does seem like time stands still from your end of the list, but it really does speed up soon... Hope you're managing to be happy to be pregnant and enjoy it as much as you can.
