ps what are your stats and will add you (or try to, am a bit crap

annie51 · 26/08/2010 14:28

Hi all

Just a quick check in, seem to be really busy atm. Hopefully will settle down when girls go back to school.(More time for MN).
All going well here some tummy cramps but think it might be me expanding, but the sickness has settled fingers crossed it stays away, am now 14 weeks and the news is out, also think that I'm feeling movement.
Think I will try for a midwife appt for a few weeks time, when can the heartbeat be heard?

clareanna · 26/08/2010 14:34

Ooh ivy you've just cheered me up no end...
Was coming on with mucho paranoia so glad to be cheered up!
Just been to mw- who was v concerned that emergency mw didn't refer me for a scan after the bleed. She asked me if I'd felt any movement yet (no- am only 15+5) and so has booked me in for a scan (earliest is next Thursday). I asked her to try the Doppler and she wasn't keen because it is a bit early to hear anything but I said I knew that and still asked her to give it a go. Of course she couldn't find the hb. She said don't have a private scan because if there is bad news you have no support.
So basically feeling a bit blah- but trying to be positive. I'm sure it's all ok - but my body has tricked me before so don't really trust anything. Just hope bean starts moving in the next week.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 26/08/2010 14:58

Ivy Shock :)

Clareanna try and stay cool, still early for feeling movements.

Had consultant appoint today, reassuring and thorough plan of care in place so I feel quite safe at the moment. Going to have to take cyclogest for 20 WEEKS from 14 weeks Hmm (not that I am moaning as everything helps!) Fortnightly scans from 12 weeks too which is good but that is for the twins AND because of losing dd2. LOTS of appointments, going to be spending a small fortune on parking so if anyone knows of free parking near St Georges please let me know!!!

Hopefully · 26/08/2010 18:40

Grin Ivy although hope your poor bottom is OK!

Will try all trapped wind tricks - I need to not look 9 months pregnant when we see DP's dad/step mum at the weekend, as don't want to tell them till after scan, and reducing the wind reduces the pregnancy tummy dramatically!

Hope all is OK with Meita and she hasn't had to stay in hospital too long.

Unbuffy · 26/08/2010 19:10

Hopefully Try going for a nice long walk and let 'em rip...

Or eat charcoal

Or some of Ivy's 'folic acid'

Good luck this weekend!

clareanna · 26/08/2010 19:44

unbuffy pmsl at 'folic acid' suggestion!

Why is work always so busy when you've just come back from being ill? Haven't had a moment to post... Had wanted to send you big hugs yesterday Magic, I do hope you got through the day ok... My due date for first MC today, and my colleague had his baby this morning instead. I cried when I got the message that they were in labour and he wouldn't be in, then I had a hectic day covering for him so thankfully no time to feel too emotional in the office, even when the baby photo arrived in my inbox at lunchtime (twas an impressively rapid birth announcement!) but I think I need a nice long bath and a sob now.

I hope your bean gives you a nice little reassuring wiggle soon Clareanna, it does seem a long time to wait till Thursday, hope you have something fun and distracting planned for the bank holiday.

Hellos to all

AlbaDeTamble · 27/08/2010 07:46

Clareanna, your mw telling you not to have private scan has been really bothering me... She prefers you to wait and worry for a week, where's the support in that? I'm sure private sonographers are just as supportive and I know from experience they have the consultants' phone numbers... Your DH, in my experience, the best support you can get and private clinics much cosier than an NHS waiting room if support required, plus not the hideously worrying long wait. And on the up side, you find out all well much sooner and can stop worrying. Just can't get my head round her being all concerned then sending you away to wait a week with her concerns buzzing round your head...

malteser1981 · 27/08/2010 14:51

GLB - my due date buddy, I've left a reply to your placenta thread, just thought I'd leave a message on here too saying not to worry!

malteser1981 · 27/08/2010 14:52

ps Clareanna, where in the country are you? I'm a dab hand with a doppler if you are in the NE!

Goodluckbear · 27/08/2010 15:53

Ta Malteser!! I just saw that, I feel a lot better about that now.

Hi to everyone, hope you all have a nice bank holiday weekend. Friday afternoon = daydream about babies, for me Smile

Hugs to Clareanna, I'm sure the wait until Thursday is going to be long, thinking of you - you wouldn't expect to feel movements yet, and it doesn't mean anything that should couldn't get the hb on the doppler at this point, but I know that it'll be good to get that scan and feel reassured.

Hey Alba - thinking of you today too, hope you get that nice long bath tonight and a nice big hug. xxx

xxxx

oooo, get you Samb, all organised lady! Is it that nesting thing?

SamanthaB123 · 27/08/2010 17:34

Hello Smile,

I've not been reading the thread properly for the last few days (sorry) Blush so can't really name check. Just feeling a bit overwhelmed that I'm about to go back to work for a month (?) and am still in pain. I bought a second birthing ball to take to school to use in my office so that I don't have to sit on a chair Blush. I'm really suffering with tiredness again so it all seems a bit much Sad. I'll post more and name check when I'm feeling a bit more upbeat...SB x

Muser · 27/08/2010 19:59

Hello all, hope you're all doing ok.

We got our nuchal results today and it was negative for Downs. Not sure what we would have done if it hadn't been, now I'm glad we don't have to think about it!

clareanna · 27/08/2010 22:22

alba hope you are feeling ok mc due date is so sad, even if you're pg again. Have been thinking about private scan too, if I'm honest i have so much on with work at the moment that I just couldn't deal with the bad news- happy to put it off! Am following sam's mantra - today I am pregnant... Have been practising lying v still at night and last night i thought I may have detected the slightest ripple of a flutter (did feel ds v early at 16 weeks) so feeling more positive today.

malteser thanks for the offer- I'm in the east midlands though- v sweet of you !

muser good news on your down's result!

samb big hug- sounds so painful- is there no way you can be signed off sick?

Have lovely bhw all!

clareanna I hope you feel something soon. I don't know if it's too early for the sugar or icewater tricks? I guess it probably is.
With DS I used to feel flutters from about 16/17 weeks, and usually only in the evenings.

samb oww :(

muser that's good news :)

My stats are
Ivysedai - Baby #2 - 7+3 - EDD 13/04/2011

but I'm sure that'll all change when we have our dating scan.

Lorks SamB that sounds really awful, are you sure you're ok to go back to work? Sorry you're feeling so ouch. Sad

Clareanna hope the positivity is continuing, or that you've felt some more reassuring flutters. I felt a few odd bits earlier but wasn't really sure it wasn't just wind till nearly 20 weeks Blush. Little bean disco dancing on regular basis now though. A sharp wedgie to your midwife re scans...

Muser bloody good news! And now relax... Smile

IvySedai added you to the list. Membership badge will be in the post... oh and Shock at the tablet mix up!!! Grin Grin

Annie I heard the heartbeat at my 16 weeks midwife appt (I was 16+4) so maybe try for something in a fortnight or so?

Alba belated [hug] for you for Thursday. Hope it was ok x

Buffs wishing you a poo&wee-free-floor!

Hope everyone has lovely plans, or lovely doingnothingness this weekend. Have my best friend coming for supper tonight for her birthday (I'm roasting a chook) so will try my bestest to stay awake past 9pm!

Viv poppet if you're lurking, Still so chuffed for you and looking forward to welcoming you over here. We do all know how scary it is! Smile

Actually I was looking at the list while updating today and can't believe how quickly we are all climbing up that ladder. GO DUFFERS!! Grin

Urrgh poor magic double vommy must be awful. Hope something makes it feel better- toast always worked for me- for about 10 seconds...

Just had a lovely day shopping with my sister- albeit slightly depressing. Was helping her get a new work wardrobe and found her some gorgeous things for her lovely young size 12 figure, then I introduced her to the world of maternity bra shopping and the high streets selection of maternity clothing- she was horrified!!

Hi all..

Am waiting with bated breath to hear from Meita he must def have a bambino by now!!

For those of you who have experienced labour before.. I haven't I had an elective cs with dd.. I have several symptoms which I'm trying not to read into.. They include-
much increased cm (sorry for tmi)
back pain coming and going
loss of apetite
much more frequent bowel movements (def tmi!)

it's only been the last 48 hours and I don't remember having this with dd.. Given I'm 36 wks I thought I better pack my bag and the baby's bag and I am presuming I'll know if labour has started as the hospital have told me to come straight in as I have to have a cs again.. All advice gratefully received!

Hope all those suffering with sickness are enjoying the respite of the weekend and that everyone else is
coping ok with everything x

clareanna · 28/08/2010 19:56

Hi Lee I definitely experienced all of that with ds. My waters broke then 12 hrs later contractions started and I had a good (ahem) purge both ends... My contractions were more like period pains, but they can come in your back.
Saying that- at 36wks your organs are all v uncomfortable so your body does do weird things. If you are truly worried phonevthe labour ward and they'll tell you to come in and be monitored for a bit so they can see if you're having contractions or not.
Best of luck!!!

Any news frpm boodle?

OP posts:
Hopefully · 28/08/2010 21:09

Lee I had several.. ahem... clear outs at the end of my pregnancy, but they started at around 39 weeks and I didn't go into labour till almost 42 weeks. I didn't get any back pain/pre labour pains, but I understand that most normal people do, so that could be a sign. Also, when i was in early labour (like, the first 2 hours) I had no idea I was in labour (it didn't hurt very much), so if you're in any doubt, do give your hosp a call to get checked out. of course, once I was in established labour, there was no doubt (contractions every 2 minutes from the word go, anyone?)
