SamB how exciting, 4 weeks!

I am dying of trapped wind and sicky feeling. Stayed with my dad last night so I could borrow his car and haven't told him (he would not cope with me MCing, so easier not to involve him until post-12 weeks) and was a real barrel of laughs trying not to look ill at the delicious meal he made.

Meita can't wait to hear big news from you Grin

Apparently it is going to piss it down all of next week, when we are camping in cornwall Hmm Grin. Lucky we're brave!

Gi1da · 24/08/2010 19:10

Wow SamB four weeks! O MY VERY GOSH! So glad that things went ok for you today - good idea to take a packed lunch - and super news that the cyst isn't any bigger. Sorry you're still in so much discomfort though Sad. Silly question possibly, will the cyst reduce after birth?

Welcome to IvySedai definately the right place to be, we do a great line in marine accoutrements to keep everyone sane. Meet fishy >

Unbuffs I think I smell wee sometimes Blush. I definitely don't smell the same. But then my nose seems to have been doing a secret open university course in quantum olfactory perception.

Re other thread, I swear I will actually wet myself if Viv and MrsP get BFPs. I'll send over some of my special wee sticks - these ones are like super party poppers - glitter, confetti and a host of heavenly angels singing as the line appears... inspired by Priscilla Queen of the Desert if anyone's seen the musical.

Hopefully aaah I love Cornwall in the rain, we usually go in October so I'm quite used to it. Smile

oooh SamCam's just had her baby early on holiday in Cornwall BTW.

I caved in and bought my first baby stuff today. The Green Baby sale ends on Thursday so I picked up a sheepskin stroller fleecy thing, some cellular blankets and washable cloths. Extra 15% off online orders so worth a look.

Happy evenings all x

clareanna · 24/08/2010 20:26

Meita any news?!

Ba8y poor you - sorry you're still feeling rotten. I'm still very tired (15wks now) and threw up for the first time at 14 weeks! For me, I can get through the working week ok, but by the weekend I'm shattered and have to have big naps! I find that if I eat every 2-3 hours or so, that helps with energy etc.
(although not with expanding arse)

Happy hope appt goes well tomorrow - the shopping is the fun bit - enjoy it - could you ask someone to store it? We didn't put our furniture together until 2 weeks before DS arrived...

unbuffy big hugs to you - have you spoken to your MW about feeling down? hope the communitry matron (oooh matron etc) goes well tomorrow? Potty training argh. How are the puppies?

alba good news about the results - did it take you back? can't imagine what I'll be like at exam time

sam bloody hell - 4 weeks? I'd be feeling shocked too!! hope you're coming round to the idea? sounds like if you can avoid going back and can get signed off sick (as in theory its still 8 weeks until EDD) for a while then it might do you good to rest a bit?

ivy hurrah! lovely to see you here!

Glad I'm not the only one stalking the other thread - OMG so excited!!!

I am fine - Gi1da I can repot that the Ritz is very Ritzy and full of minor european royalty types, and lots of people there for a special occasion. It has recently been refurbished so was stunning (still prefer Claridges though I would hasten to add, I work in PR and don't actually visit these places in Real Life - more likely a food fight with a toddler at Pizza Express if I'm lucky...

Currently still in the "I HATE ALL MY CLOTHES" stage - haven't told my team at work yet, and know that as soon as I move into my old maternity clothes that will be a bit of a clue...

right... back to the stalking and maybe watching the BB final (the shame...)

4 weeks! OMG Sam. How are you feeling?

SamanthaB123 · 25/08/2010 09:33

Thanks for all the OMG messages!!! On one hand I am feeling relieved that it will be over because I spend a lot of the time in pain and can't do everyday stuff (like sit in a chair or drive the car), but on the other hand I feel like I am being a little selfish that I will be induced to relieve my own pain even though it would be better for the baby to stay where she is for longer. No decisions will be made for four weeks so we have plenty of time to decide. I felt that I was having these problems with this pregnancy because I am much older than when I had the other two but the doctor has been quite clear that it is just because I have a cyst which could happen to anyone regardless of their age. In a purely selfish sense I would be delighted to have the baby in four weeks. I can't wait for her to be here!

Lovely news on the ttc thread by the way...Grin

HappyGirl1 · 25/08/2010 15:51

Sam123 that?s great news that your scan went well but poor you with the pains and baby is arriving in 4 weeks!!!! Great you are all organised though now 

Welcome Ivy - this is a wonderful thread!

Meita can?t wait to hear your news!!!

Gilda have brought in some balloons to get the place ready too Smile

Had my appt today, baby measuring normally although she didn't actually tell me the measurements but she said it was fine, heard the heartbeat which was great. She did find glucose in my urine though but I had just had a lucosade - silly silly me. So now I have to have a blood test tomorrow. Hopefully all will be okay.

Hi to everyone Smile Hope you are all having good Wednesdays!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 25/08/2010 18:09

Gi1da think it's time for some virgin mojitos! I am so chuffed for viv :)

How do we think Meita is doing???

Hello Happygirl hope your bloods come back ok.

Sam Wow! 4 weeks! Hope you are bearing up with the pains in the meantime but lovely you get to meet her sooner!

Clareanna the clothes thing is getting me down too, I feel very lumpy (mostly due to over consumption of carbs) but my maternity jeans although very comfy are too big still and I spend all day pulling them up which is attractive NOT. Although I think the bump is def going to pop out quite soon......finding it harder to hide from those who are not in the know and still have 2 weeks until my scan Confused

Hopefully hows the windy pops? Grin Hope you are feeling better. Ba8y1 how are you feeling - can you drs give you anything for the sickness?

Unbuff is it your wee smelling strong or you just think you smell of wee???? I think it is your superdoopercrazypregnantsenseofsmell, I have one of those too. I can smell our polar ice toilet cleaner thingy that hangs in the bowl (pregnant brain - what are they called?) and I can smell it from upstairs in our bedroom at the front......our bathroom is downstairs at the back. Rank.

Hi Ivy! How you doing?

Hey Alba good results for DSS :) hows your cold?

I think I have caught up with everyone??????????????

Magicsis is now at home which is good news just fingers crossed he stays put for a while :)

Gi1da · 25/08/2010 19:19

Really good to hear that MagicSis is safely back at home with bobbins still on board. Lovely that you are both dufferoo Smile.

And ooooh mojito did you have to say it, I would LUURVE a mojito, as dirty as they come!! oh well, hot chocolate it is then...

Clareanna work perks of a ritzy lifestyle are always a bonus, nice to see places you wouldn't get to normally. Bit annoying though to be working rather than on the end where you get the goodie bag and the nibbles!

O MY GOD ITS ONLY THE END OF AUGUST WHY IS IT GETTING DARK ALREADY?? Sorry not quite sure where that came from. I think I need to go and eat something sugary!

Happy evenings all. Smile

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 25/08/2010 19:25

hi!

yes, those details were right yesterday, so today I am 7 weeks (or so they say...)

I'll add another OMG for sam! how exciting!

Thanks for the lovely welcome, everyone, old and (hopefully?) new friends alike. :)

magic8 and clareanna I feel your pain regarding those maternity jeans. When I was pg with DS I stopped being able to wear my size 6 jeans around 6 weeks, but in my eternal wisdom bought size 8 maternity jeans which didn't fit me till about 14 weeks, even pulled as tight as possible. Nice look.

Gi1da thanks for the fish, I will definitely need some of those in the weeks to come. The student-midwife-to-be in me knows it's stupid to want to play with my sonic aid, but it's just way too tempting! Nevermind considering every day what I could tell the EPU to get a scan....

Hopefully can you face fizzy water?

I feel rotten today, but thankfully most of the sickness comes and goes at the moment.
a whole 7 people have asked me now if I am pregnant, and I noticed my MIL looking at my belly today as well, but not saying anything. God only knows where it suddenly came from, but there is definitely something there already. I was rather large fairly early on with DS, but not like THIS! I have a feeling I won't be able to hide it for much longer.

Big wave at everyone hanging round!

Unbuffy · 25/08/2010 19:37

AUGUST? It's more like flamin' November here! Rain, rain, rain, gloom and puppy poo everywhere inside cos I can't let them Outside due to rain rain and more flamin rain. Bah humbug. AND potty training is is bloody DISASTER she only pees on her way TO or FROM the bloody thing and keeps getting out of bed and pulling all the clothes out of her drawers all night and dh is a Useless MAN and gah.

Hello everybody !

The GOOD news is that the Community Matron spent an hour and a half reassuring me about Birth Stuff which sort of makes me feel better about it - at least I know where I stand now (headed for VBAC but there's a lot of stuff they won't let you do eg have a reasonably comfortable time). for a home birth but it's an hour to the hospital and I'm trying to be SENSIBLE.

ANYHOO. Am well chuffed about viv and helping with the bunting...

Waiting with vuvzela at the ready for Meita...

Great results Happy!...
Magic I DO smell of wee, I am totally convinced about this, think it's a combination of both strong wee and supersenses, am just waiting for someone else to sniff and say 'who's wee'd' (At least i can blame pissy dd. Thumbs up for Magicsis...

Hellooos to everyone else, have no mojitos and not sure what they are bein' as i am a bumpkin but I've got a big bag of lovely plums here we can share!
(NO SNIGGERING IN THE BACK ROW IF YOU PLEASE)
Ho hum, another very quiet night with dh at work. What should I be doing again?!

Unbuffy · 25/08/2010 19:40

Hi Ivy xposts SIZE 6?

Soooo not fair.

I think you get bigger quicker with a 2nd one. It certainly seems to be harder to hide!

Hopefully · 25/08/2010 19:49

Magic8 the windy pops have reached comically epic proportions. I alternate between starving (post wind-release) to so-full-I-could-die (pre-wind release). It is really just charming. Ivy will fizzy water help? [desperate]. I'm so bloody uncomfortable!

Gi1da it feels like bloody October round here! We live on the South coast, near lots and lots of holiday resorts, and it's freezing and been peeing it down all day.

Seem to be getting less knackered/sicky, which is nice, although worrying. I vaguely remember it coming and going with my pregnancy with DS so am trying not to panic too much.

Hope Meita has fabulously exciting news and is recovering well.

Fucksticks, I still haven't phoned the doc's to make first contact with the MW. How crap am I? I think I'm in denial that I'm actually still pregnant at almost 9 weeks.

clareanna · 25/08/2010 20:08

unbuffy could you just out her back in nappies and say she can have pants when she's a big girl? Maybe she's not ready? or she's found a very fun game...

hopefully > job for tomorrow is to call mw

So chuffed about the grads thread news!
Peppermint tea on offer for the gasbags [grins]

OP posts:
Unbuffy · 25/08/2010 20:13

Hopefully have you tried yoghurt? Like those bio type ones? I swear by them for anything stomach-related (natural yoghurt not necc the expensive little bttle thingies)

Or peppermint tea, very hot, is good.

Clareanna she gets really distressed at the weeing, so it's not a game, and she gets upset when she wees in her nappy and screams and kicks me when I try to put one on her - which is why we started PT in the first place! It's a no-win thing. May have to give in out of sheer exhaustion and put up with the kicking and screaming though.

clareanna · 25/08/2010 20:29

unbuffs that sounds really distressing - poor you and her. My friend has written a number of baby and toddler books, including ones on potty training specifically for girls. I used the boys one and it was really good- full of practical advice. It's here on amazon
hope you don't mind me recommending- just want to help- sounds really tough.

OP posts:
Magic8ballhastheanswers · 25/08/2010 20:36

Peppermint tea is great or spearmint and camomile(Twinnings) I think fizzy water will give you more gas Hopefully

Unbuff - What about stickers charts/little rewards she can choose out of a bag when she goes in the potty. Also some good books are Who's in the Loo? and I'm Finished (which has a really annoying flush noise on each page but LOs love it)

Unbuffy · 25/08/2010 21:10

Checked out and ordered Clareanna - anything! Poor thing is so stressed (and so am I!!). Thank you! Will keep you all updated, I know it's exciting... Grin

Ooooh, felt my first tummy kicks this evening. Praps this one will be the right way up Grin Hmm

clareanna · 25/08/2010 22:17

Fab- hope it helps unbuffy

Am confuzzled - is that a sneaky bfp on the other thread or no?

OP posts:
LeeWT · 25/08/2010 23:06

It took mean epic four months to train dd. The nursery and health visitor were as bewildered as I was. Tried EVERYTHING with her.. Finally got upset and told her that tomorrow I was going totesco to buy baby nappies. She said she didn't want them and I explained how it wasn't nice for mummy to do all this cleaning and washing and that I would be buying them the very nextday. Miraculously it was sorted.. She just turned a corner the next day after MONTHS of horrendousness!

Dont know if it helps but I feel your pain!

Sooo dying to hear meitas news and soooo excited about the new bfp on other thread :-)

hopefully fizzy water with a bit of lemon juice helped, but only really by giving my trapped gas a helping hand out Wink. yoghurt and pepperming tea are fab, also chamomile.

unbuffy yeah, but that's a size 6 after years of going in and out of various hospitals and almost having ruined my life and my fertility.
Sorry to hear about your troubles with potty training. We're having to potty train a couple of our mindees at the moment, and it's entertaining difficult.

How do I add myself to the list?

Something to make you guys laugh: I just realised why I've been expelling poo at the speed of light for the past few days. I've been accidentally taking laxatives instead of folic acid. No idea why I thought it would be good to put a spare pack of laxatives in my FA box a while ago.. I only thought "they never used to be that size" but didn't actually catch on until yesterday..... Blush

Unbuffy · 26/08/2010 11:19

Thanks for the reassurance, Lee! There's all these 'well I did it in a week/two days/30 seconds' stories and none which seem REAL iyswim! Ah well, it can only get better (shurely?!)

Ivy I was a bit like that once upon a time. But not any more...
