Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on this week, have been reading but haven't had a chance to post as snowed under in work.

Sounds like everyone is doing well albeit very nervous. I have to admit I just don't think the nerves ever go after MC. I just haven't stopped worrying at all. I'm thinking about booking a GP appt for Monday I'm just feeling a bit odd lately, swollen feet even though weather not hot, strange pain on right hand side of belly button, really bad cold, just a few bits. STill quite worried I only feel the baby really really low down given that my bump is quite prominent. I'm not sure though if it's meant to be the MW I have an appt with, not the GP, anyone know?

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday evening x

Muser · 07/08/2010 19:04

Sorry, haven't posted for a while. Big fish slaps to those who need them and hugs as well.

northerngoldilocks · 08/08/2010 11:10

Hi all, Thanks for the welcome messages, it is lovely to have people who understand quite how stressful the whole thing is as people who haven't been through a MC just assume everything will be ok.

Going for a scan this week, hoping all goes well. If it does will hopefully get more 'involved' on this thread, sorry for no namechecks yet though and 'me me' posts.

Gi1da · 08/08/2010 12:36

You're certainly in the right place for understanding Northern I can't believe I've actually reached 20 weeks, yet I'm still as doubtful as when I first saw that blue line. Which does show a certain degree of menkhul self-denial though, my belly seems to be quite certain what's going on! What day is your scan? Let us know so we can x fingers for you.

Happy instinct says the midwife might be more useful, but then you may be have a really nice doctor. Am sure if I went to my GP with concerns now he'd just look at me and tut. Am sure the midwife will be more sympathetic (and probably more experienced) to hear your concerns and understand why you want reassurance. Hopefully also will let you hear the heartbeat again? Good luck, let us know what you decide and how it goes. Mythical cup of tea to you (a fantasy one that tastes as good as tea used to taste before duffedness - aaah bliss). Smile

Muser good to see you, hope you're feeling well and not too sicky. Congrats on hitting double figure weeks. Woot woot.

Alba any inspiration coming through on boys names yet? Must be nice to know. I am tempted...

Buffs hope all's going well in poo-ville! Here's hoping you successfully get DD on the potty, and how about fashioning mini-nappies for the puppies?

Meita all nested and ready? Did you give the floor scrubbing a go for the turning effect?

Hallooooos into the tinterweb to Bunny, Lucy and Malteser must be scans coming up soon unless (oops) I missed them. How's it hanging ladies?

Gilda puts on x-ray specs to search out Jolls.Smile Perhaps we'll see you on the 16th? Thinking of you (not in a weird stalky way - honest).

Happy relaxing Sundays to one and all Smile

Unbuffy · 08/08/2010 13:49

ooooo, can I borrow the x-ray specs next? They sound fuuun!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 08/08/2010 17:28

I am proper fooked (and I am NOT complaining btw!) and really sorry not to namecheck......I will be back soon I promise to catch up with all your news.......Sending lots of Magic8 double bubble luck for all of you who have scans etc coming up. xxxxxx

ps Meita how you feeling??????
pps extra feeble wave to northerngoldilocks!

northerngoldilocks · 08/08/2010 20:35

Thanks everyone. Scan on Wed. Don't feel sick, suppose I should be pleased but just makes me more nervous. Am just very tired and go off eating lots of things esp at night. Guess these are symptoms plus know that everyone is different. Will try not to stress too much.

Hope everyone is doing ok and you've all had lovely weekends and are managing to not stress too much.

SamanthaB123 · 08/08/2010 21:31

Happygirl You sound quite normal to me Smile. Earlier on - maybe around the time that you are now I had really strange pains where my belly button was popping out. It was awfully tender and I kept bumping it into things. I also worried about baby movements as for a third baby I thought they were all a bit vague and late. I mainly felt movement really low down, almost in my pelvis. It turns out that I have an anterior placenta which the baby was kicking so I couldn't feel it at all. Baby has been head down for weeks and what I could feel was the head and her hands and elbows as she sucked her thumb! Now at nearly 30 weeks other movements are more prominent but I still don't feel the feet very often. You could make an appointment with the midwife - she will reassure you and will refer you onwards if she is worried.

Magic - keep smiling, the first part is horrid but it does pass eventually. I can truly sympathise, I was sick, sick, sick. And exhausted. By 14 weeks the tiredness remained but the sick had totally gone. It seems like a distant memory now Smile.

Meita Hope you are well hon, nearly nearly there now. How are you doing?

I bought a pram today. Phew, what a nightmare. It was really hard to choose and we spent ages in shops pushing them around. Finally decided on a Mamas & Papas Sola. Really happy with it and it will be here this week Smile. Tomorrow we are heading to Bluewater to buy the rest of the baby stuff while DD's are away with grandparents and we can make sensible decisions rather than random, rash purchases. Very exciting, if not expensive! I wanted to make sure I had everything sorted by the time I go back to school in September which is why we are buying now. Also starting to think about my hospital bag...

Hope all well, SB x

LucyT66 · 09/08/2010 08:29

Happy Monday everyone!

Sorry for not posting for ages. Hope everyone's doing well. I have 20-week scan on Wednesday. I can't believe it's half-way there. I had been quite relaxed over the past couple of weeks, but then yesterday, for some reason, was consumed with the worry bug.

Am convinced something's wrong. Or, my relentless worrying is going to make something go wrong - like stop the baby's heart. Oh god, I need a good slap or talking to.

Sorry for me-me-me post. I'm just freaking out a bit. Sorry, I'm off to attempt to deep-breath for five minutes!

sparklyrainbow · 09/08/2010 10:05

Lucy, do you need this? <

My 20 week scan is Wed too, also familiar with the worry bug!

Hope you had a good weekend celebrations WYG

Happy shopping Sam and will pop back later to see if there's news from Gilda...

dorcas111 · 09/08/2010 10:10

Hi everyone, I know I've made a few fleeting appearances on this thread but thought maybe it was time I properly joined if that is ok- could someone add me to the list? I'm...
baby 1, 15+3 weeks, EDD 28th January
I've found it quite hard being pregnant again, so soon after losing my first baby, which I lost at 6 weeks in March, and have been very stressed about it happening again so the first three months have been pretty miserable with me feeling really scared as well as very sick and exhausted. I'm starting to feel better now and more positive. Last week has been quite traumatic as I started bleeding- not much, mostly brown discharge, which bought back lots of horrible memories and I was terrified it was happening all over again. But I had another scan and the little one was wriggling away with a healthy heartbeat and measuring well for dates so fingers crossed all is ok. They think I was bleeding from my cervix and just need to take it easy.
Phew, that is a lot of information, sorry, will stop going on about me now. Hope everyones week has started well. Waves to those I met on the other thread Smile

LucyT66 · 09/08/2010 10:34

Thanks sparkly - that's exactly what I need.

Hi dorcas111 - I remember your name from the other thread. Hope you're doing ok. The first few months of post-MC pregnancy are so fraught. I was convinced, up until the first scan, that there would be no heartbeat. I think it gets a little bit easier after that. You're in good company here anyway.

BUnderTheBonnet · 09/08/2010 12:06

Hi,
Just checking in, looking for other people's scan news...
Nothing to report here, except all night sickness Angry and nothing I can drink tastes nice. Why is that?

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 09/08/2010 13:29

Hola from ConstantlyfeelinglikeIamgonnavom !

Bunder glad your scan went well! Hormones are the reason! I have a rank taste in my mouth all the time, hence feeling sick! Nearly everything I drink tastes OFF! But I can recommend Tescos Mexican Lime (squash) and also bitter lemon. Citrus favours are supposed to help. I have found that I am much much more thirsty this PG mind you there are 2 beans in there.....and the weather is warm......

Hi Dorcas nice to see you here :)

Good luck northern Lucy and Sparkly with your scans for Wednesday :) I know it's hard not to worry, but please try not too! Some days I feel like I feel like I am doomed..... had PROM with DD2, then a MMC and now twins which makes my risk of PROM and MC even higher! But I am not worrying! There is no point! What will be will be so am I putting all my energy into a PMA!!! POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE! (Can't remember what that was an advert for?)

Ooooo Samantha that is so exciting getting your new wheels!!!!! I am a little Envy Grin

How did you get on today Gi1da?

Hi to everyone I have missed!

BunnyBaby · 09/08/2010 14:44

Hello Ladies,

I am not ignoring everyone, silly SKY have made a real mess of setting up our telephone and broadband, so we're having to piggyback on everyone's BT Openzone, which is super expensive, so t'internet is rationed.

Last week was my birthday and DS2 was also due on the same date, so a happy day, but I still shed a little tear for him. Know how you feel GLB

Today had my scan and all is well, we're still on for the 25th December. Couldn't help feeling a little twinge of sadness as to why one baby is ok and the other isn't.

Happy I get swollen feet and ankles, and go up a shoe size when pregnant. I also 'bloom', though thankfully mainly water retention, so you lose it in the week or so after the birth. I found eating salty take-away food could make my weight fluctuate by as much a 5lb.

Really sorry I haven't namechecked everyone, and hello to the new joiners. Time flied here, can't believe I'm over half way there.

Now just looking for Gilda my due date and scan buddy for her update :)

Gi1da · 09/08/2010 16:26

Haaallooo! Hey due-date scan-mate Bunny - glad your scan went well Smile. I know what you mean about how strange one baby makes it and another doesn't. Still I'm sure when I meet this little one I won't want to swap it for what might have beens so am trying to be zen. Here's to a super special Christmas for us!!

All went really well with the scan which is a MAHOOOSIVE relief. And we're having a........ baby! A right wriggler of a baby by all accounts too.

Dorcas lovely to see you. Pull up a pew. Smile

MagicNause-8 sorry you're feeling double crook.

Getting the poms poms ready for Wednesday's scan crew LuckyBear, Sparkly, Northern and Lucy go girls!!!

Waves all around, will pop back later on x

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 09/08/2010 16:57

Great news Bunny and Gi1da!

LucyT66 · 09/08/2010 17:16

Yay, lovely news Bunny and Gi1da. How exciting to see a.....baby!!

sparklyrainbow · 09/08/2010 19:59

Fab Bunny and Gilda. I'm getting more and more scared about ours < SLAP < SLAP

Dorcas hi again and bleeding sounds scary but scan sounds very positive :)

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 09/08/2010 21:19

I am loving the fish!

I have had such a sicky day (sorry to keep going on but I feel so sorry for myself!) so bloody nauseous and it never goes even with eating.....I think if I was actually sick I would feel better, anyway this has all been made worse tonight by the little caterpillar I just found in my stir fry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Envy

Muser · 09/08/2010 21:29

Oh yuck to the caterpillar magic8.

I'm with you on the sickness. I'm not feeling sick 24/7 anymore, but the first half of the day is awful, and eating doesn't help. Some days are worse than others. If I'm tired it's definitely worse, Fridays are awful as I'm so exhausted after a week at work.

I do throw up in the mornings, but not usually after that. In 11 weeks I have lost half a stone because of the sickness killing my appetite. I'm really hoping it goes soon.

toomuchteaching · 09/08/2010 22:35

Well done to Bunny and Gi1da, brilliant brilliant. And everything crossed for Wednesday's scanners.

Sorry magic8 and muser and BUnder and all the other sicky people. It's horrible but it does pass (for most people!!). I had a random one off extra vom incident a week ago when I'd slept really badly but still had to get up and rush around. Take it easy, it helps.

Seems like we're having a nervy week around here, so an extra fish for all who need it >
