Magic8ballhastheanswers · 04/08/2010 10:34

morning not sure if sickness is any worse to be honest than with prev pregs but I know I am more tired I can't be bothered to do anything, even type so you guys are tres lucky! Sickness seems to be worse in the evenings? But I am NOT moaning!!!!!!! I am very grateful to feel like doogie doo doo! Will try the lucozade thanks unbuff I agree on the tit sling issue maternity bras are gross - I am sporting an extra unsexy white number today from mothercare ......I have some bootiful elle mcpherson ones but they are lacy and they irritate me I am going to have a look at the hot milk ones they sound lubberly!

boodle exciting times now - I feel your pain with the restless leg/indigestion etc, not long and it will be over and oh so worth it!

Good luck to all with scans etc today xx

Gi1da · 04/08/2010 10:37

Oooh yes a nice cup of tea and a gingernut (or two).

I'd march on parliament to bring that back under workers' rights!

Unbuffy · 04/08/2010 10:53

Just tea would be nice. Unfortunately it just tastes of tannin and yuk. I'd kill for a cuppa right now

Agree also about lacy bras irritating - I have a lot of (scald/burn) scarring on my boobs and any kind of edging is aggers. Not that that's really an issue atm...

Think I might have to do some baking this afternoon, all this talk of biscuits and cake is making me hungry. hmm, Jamie Oliver Chocolate Brownies peut-etre? (slurp). Only problem is i need the energy from brownies to MAKE brownies. It's the Ciiiircle of Liiiife!

sparklyrainbow · 04/08/2010 11:11

Hiya all, have been popping in and out but not posted for a while. I am going to try and name check a bit.... Mmm, tea and biscuits. Looking forward to tea tasting properly again! May have to bake later now too!

Magic evening sickness and feeling sick all day, I can sympathise. Congrats on the twinnies though!

WYG I have been feeling odd flutter and bubble since about 17w ? I think!

Bunder hope your scan goes well.

Boodle hope you enjoy your maternity leave. Not long to go, wow!

Hi Osch, welcome, and hello everyone else (including Jolls) hope everyone?s ok.

Unbuff and other bump concerned people- I definitely have one, there is no way I am not pregnant. Which is good in some ways, and it is definite preg shaped, not just fat. I have had a few looks from people who ask me how far along I am though! You can?t win either way, I have about 3 items of clothing that actually fit and are comfortable and look reasonable and really don?t want to buy anything else as I?m going to need autumn/winter stuff really. Still if the weather continues like today.... Not sure how much weight I have put on as we don?t own scales! Know I lost a bit in the first trimester though cos I was weighed at a mw appt as I didn't know my weight when I booked in- got a very odd look about that!

Right, have updated list and taken dates off the mc section- and added Moof, hope that?s ok. Have also added the fishy at the bottom, perhaps he ought to be a permanent feature of the list for those moments from time to time?

zayja · 04/08/2010 11:58

Well, I positively posted an update last night and it's not here!? Anyone ever have that happen? So, here goes again...

Wonderful news, all is well with my baby GIRL! Thought for sure it was a boy...guess I'm still working on that mother's intuition! She is measuring perfect for dates, so dh and I are so pleased (although think daddy wanted a son - still, lots of smiles!). Now I can really start decorating and planning, etc. And feels so good to finally write an "I'm pregnant!" Facebook status update - had held off until now telling only close friends. I will post the best scan pic we got, a cute profile, on my mn profile.

BunderB - of course we all know just what you're going through. Best advice I can give...try to visualize everything going just perfectly and then put yourself in that happy state of mind whenever you start worrying. I'm sure it's been said a million times, but worrying really doesn't do a bit of good!

Oh magic8, hope those carbs do the trick for you and you feel better soon!

boodle - yay 6 weeks!!! You sound miserable! I hope it gets better before baby comes, but if not then it certainly will when baby arrives!

HappyGirl1 · 04/08/2010 12:54

Zayja huge big congratulations on having a girl. That's just fantastic news and how great that the dates are perfect!

sorry i haven't been on in a few days, been absolutely manic in work and getting v little sleep as been really busy at home too so just exhausted but that's all good. 22 weeks today, feels like we are progressing. touch wood.

welcome to all the newbies - great you are here!

still feeling lots of bubbles that are getting bigger but they definitely aren't kicks which slightly concerns me but hopefully baby will get stronger soon.

happy wednesday to all! i may have to get a lucosade pick me up soon

Moofold · 04/08/2010 13:27

Hi everyone, one quick last post from me. Zayja amazing news about your little girl! I was convinced DD was a boy and didn't believe them when she arrived so my instinct was pants too! Great you get to share your news too.

BU hang in there, its totally nerve shattering I know x Clare had been keeping an eye out for your news, hope you are good x

Gi1da, Sparkly and everyone thanks for the thoughts and adding me to the list. I have lurked by here today but not sure I will be back lots or posting again. Then again, I do want to keep up with all your news so you never know. A few of us from the TTC thread are on facebook too so if anyone wants to keep in touch that way you can find me (i think at least) by searching for [email protected] My profile pic is someone wearing medevial attire consuming a whole chicken (don't ask..)

Anyway, thanks again for your support during my brief stay and the very best of luck to you all x

clareanna · 04/08/2010 16:16

Hi all- now in land of no signal (o2 is rubbish ) but hav managed to find free wifi in a cafe- woo hoo.
Scan was absolutely fine- strong hb and wriggling around all over the place! bunder totally with you on the impending sense of doom I was completely prepared for the worst- what I'd do with ds, who i'd need to call.. It took a few moments to sink in that all was fine!
The scan also put me ahead a bit. Last scan at 9.3 pit me back 2 days and this one has pit me forwards from that by 3 days so am now 13 weeks today
who had the measurement stats? I am now convinced I'm having another boy, having thought it might be a girl at 9 weeks!!!!
Sorry not to namecheck- difficult on phone... But big waves to all !

northerngoldilocks · 05/08/2010 08:56

Hi all,

Can I join you? Had a MMC in April this year. Currently 7 weeks pregnant. Have been lurking on here for a few weeks but didn't feel ready to post. To be honest, still not sure I do, but figure it won't make any difference to the outcome.

Am going to go for a scan next week when I'm 8 weeks. Am so scared that it will be the same as last time. Accept that worrying won't change anything either, but being calm is easier said than done.

Goodluckbear · 05/08/2010 10:57

northerngoldilocks - welcome. Congratulations on your pregnancy, it's a rollercoaster post mc.... you are right that being calm is easier said than done!! Glad you are getting a scan next week though, that will be reassuring for you, but I know it is the looooooongest wait (sigh). Stick with us for some hand holding!!

Wishing you an uneventful 33 weeks to come.

BUnderTheBonnet · 05/08/2010 13:35

Hi!

Thanks for the > Alba!

The scan was fine - measuring perfectly for dates (3.2 cm) and still a heart rate of 170bpm.

Last scan they found the baby and heartbeat almost instantly, but this time it took about 15 seconds - my heart nearly stopped.

Also, we were late for the scan - my DH had been swimming with DD and didn't get back in time. I nearly blew up I was so stressed.

Ah well, I now grant myself 2 days free of worrying, before I start the wind up for the 12 week scan.

AlbaDeTamble · 05/08/2010 14:23

Yay for good scans BUnder, Zayja and Clareanna - big gold star for Clare for managing to post from phone on holiday just to reassure us all that scan was fine

BUnder, after my 10 week scan, Malteser kindly quoted me some fantastically good odds that all will now be well with the rest of the pregnancy. Wish I could remember exactly what it was, but something like ninety nine point something percent chance all will now be well. So you can grant yourself a few more than 2 worry free days now - at least till the end of the weekend

Zayja, I was the opposite to you, convinced we were having a girl having felt so incredibly sick for the first few months (unlike with DS where I was fine) -- so was a little sceptical when the sonographer told us she thought it was a boy at 12 weeks (no guarantee at that stage, opinion rather than certainty, but if you want to find out in 2 weeks time, BUnder, Jane did our scan, and she was happy to try to see). However, boy it is, very obvious even to me at 17 weeks so she was right... struggling terribly with names now, had loads for girls, but DS and DSS have our favourite boys' names, and we're pretty stumped now

Welcome Northerngoldilocks, early worries are sadly very much the norm on this thread, and I remember well how utterly terrified I was even just making the booking for the 8 week scan. Thinking of you, it's a really tough first couple of months to get through. Worry away here, we'll do our best to hand hold (or provide the fish, your choice...). Let us know if you want to be added to the list, or if, like Jollster, you're waiting a while...

Moofold, thanks for popping back in, still thinking of you.

Jolls, I have 20 week scan and antenatal clinic the same day as your 12 week, so won't forget and will have my fingers tightly crossed for both you and Muser whilst I'm there. Really not looking forward to it. Too many bad memories from the hospital and managed to avoid the place up till now... but we're going to have to go there sooner or later.

TFLS, missing you! Where have you got to, hope all well and you're busy nesting and surviving the hot weather. I'm sure you're glad of the rain...

Meita, if you don't pop in every day, I start to wonder if our next new baby announcement is imminent! Have you been on your hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor? (seem to recall midwife telling me that was the best way to get a back to back baby to turn... didn't fancy it myself...)

Boodle, Louise, Sam and everyone else near the top of the list, hoping the cooler weather continues just where you are (I'd like some more sunshine though) to keep you all going.

Unbuffy, after a week of potty training DS, I'm in awe of you having all those puppies running round being house trained -- what a lot of work! But soooo cute

Who mentioned tea? It's so annoying that it just doesn't live up to expectations at the moment..... have a cup in front of me, looks lovely, tastes, well, pretty mediocre. And as for coffee.... I try a cup every now and then as I miss it so much, and have to spit it out!

Gilda, Sparkly, Lucky, Malty, Happy, hello to all, hope you're all enjoying those bubble pops/kicks/bizarre wind like sensations.....

Lia another week passed, hope all still well with you!

big squeeze to everyone in the first trimester feeling sick and nervous (or not sick and even more nervous). It will pass, and chances are, it will all be fine.

and Magic, fab news on your twins!

And just to make sure I mention everyone by name, here's today's list.... (by the time I post this will probably have crossed with a few other list posters, fingers crossed not)

Unbuffy · 05/08/2010 14:56

Hi all,

how's it all going? I have a poorly dh and a tired dd and have not had much sleep (again) so not a lot of brian power going here. Just, Alba, I'm not house training the little sods dears, they have a pen with lots of newspaper that is regularly changed - trying to housetrain 8 3-week-olds would indeed be hell! I'll leave that to their new mummies and daddies when they grow up and leave home in a month or so. Just trying to work out whether to keep one or not...
And I too am statring potty training btw, next week dh is between shifts soooo Monday morning, all that kicks in. How did you start? And are you using nappies at all or going cold turkey straight away? Am now slightly dreading it...

Hi everyone else, will do a cheeky ditto on the above post

AlbaDeTamble · 05/08/2010 15:25

Good luck Unbuffy -- we went cold turkey from day1, after a lot of talking about it for weeks beforehand - and the potty's been around for ages anyway, just to get him used to it whenever I remembered to try to use it, mostly at bathtime. He picked it up quicker than I expected, still one or two accidents when very excited, upset or tired, and a few moments of wanting to be a baby and put his nappy back on, but other than that going pretty well.

Will use nappies still for long car journeys, I think, and still at night for a while yet.

Found a few useful tips on the potty training threads on here too.

I was dreading it, but really not as bad as I'd feared. You may well be pleasantly surprised

Gi1da · 05/08/2010 19:53

Alba blimey what a wonderful name check!

I'm still in the exhausted phase, made worse by an extremely stressful and over-busy time at work, so by the time I come home I'm so knackered / strung out that I can barely follow the plot of Eastenders. (And then DH gets stressed worrying about me being stressed which doesn't really help but bless him). I also need to > SLAP < myself due to pre-scan jitters.

Congrats on your scan BUnder OMFG though - I can't imagine how awful that 15 seconds waiting to find baby was! Delighted everything is ticketyboo.

Who else is on the scan rota next week?

Moof lovely to see you and wishing you all the utmost best what ever you decide in ttc world for the future. I've never gotten my head around facebook, but one of these days I might just do that. Hard to resist the lure of the full medieval costume story...

Meita wow I just looked at the dates and realised how soon you'll be meeting your little one, not long for you either Boodle, last day at work tomorrow? Hoorah!!

Northerngoldilocks welcome welcome!

Love to the rest of you, sorry for crapness and me-me-ness of post. I have to commune with the sofa in a horizontal orientation for while. zzzzzz. Can someone please tell me that I am soon about to hit a mid-pregnancy bloom phase and feel like taking on the world?

PS - is one of us Lily Allen? She's just announced her (post MC) duffedness.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 06/08/2010 12:01

Flying visit to say Happy Friday! Off to old friends wedding so will check in tomorrow :)

LilRedWG · 06/08/2010 14:58

Sorry that I never name check, I am under the influence of massive exhaustion. Blush

Gi1da · 06/08/2010 16:29

There's a spare emergency bean bag for you here LilRed, sit back and mong out... Smile

Tough work being duffed innit? I say to DH, I know I look like I'm being lazy, but honestly, at a cellular level I'm very busy...

Hope everyone's having a good Friday, oh so nearly the weekend now!

Goodluckbear · 06/08/2010 16:42

Ah, glad it's nearly the weekend!!

Today was my due date for my mmc in Jan, I thought it would be worse that it was so kind of relieved (just have a little pang whenever I date stuff at work today). I thought 6/8/10 was a cool due date as it goes up in twos, what a geek am I Smile.

Gilda - I'm on scan watch next week too, on Wednesday though. I keep forgetting, as I've been waiting so long. Yours is on Monday isn't it? Hope it is really nice and you have a nice sonographer.

Have a good weekend everyone,
GLB

sparklyrainbow · 06/08/2010 17:12

GLB I have a scan Wednesday too! Getting a bit nervous already...

Alba that was an amazing name check, and yes, enjoying the bubbles though DH wants to feel them too! They seem to be getting stronger as well :)

Hi NorthernGoldilocks.

Have a good weekend all x

toomuchteaching · 06/08/2010 17:47

Hi all... am so going to use that line Gi1da, I only got up at 11 and then napped from 3-5, I mean that's pathetic, but maybe my cellular level needed it!

Had a crap morning, didn't feel bambino at all, and I'm just not feeling quite right in my own skin at the moment, do you know what I mean?! Everything feels a bit uncomfortable, even though nothing is really wrong. Could I get a fish slap from someone? I'm just not exactly perky, where's my second trimester glow? DH away for a week from tomorrow too, grr...

Have a lovely weekend all, welcome NorthernGoldilocks. Hope the scan waiting goes ok, sending some distractions your way Gi1da, sparkly and GLB.

AlbaDeTamble · 06/08/2010 18:41

toomuch, here you are <

but in all honesty I think you're totally normal... I had major wobbles a couple of weeks ago, painful cramps and couldn't feel movement so booked extra midwife appt... Felt a bit silly when I got there but she was incredibly kind and understanding, sympathised and said any woman post mc would likely associate cramps with everything going wrong. Explained round ligament pain in great detail, listened to heartbeat and generally reassured me, and prescribed paracetamol to take away scary pains, a nice cup of tea, and my feet up for the evening. Complete relaxation. And it all worked. Could have cried she was so lovely and understanding.

And movements came back a few days later. I find now some days they're really strong, others not much at all, I think maybe because they move around so much at our stage so sometimes kicking inwards where it's more difficult to feel, other times nice obvious out ones...

And the hormones still leave me frequently wanting to cry for absolutely no reason at all...

Hope that helps? No? Ok, here's the fish again then

toomuchteaching · 07/08/2010 10:59

Thank you so much Alba, you've made me feel tons better. It's just that every little twinge, which I presume are going to get more frequent - great, makes me nervous. And DH asks me what's wrong whenever he sees me wince, he's just as bad as me! And I seem to keep happening upon threads where people say "oooh, not to worry you, but a friend of mine lost her baby at 18 weeks because of so and so..." and you know what, it does worry me. And to top it off DH set off for the airport at 4am and I cried, even though it's only a week, and it's mostly because I have no idea what I'd do if anything happened while he's away.

Sorry for the me me me post, I thought I was through the crazy worry but I guess I've got another few months of it!

Hope you ladies are doing better, have a good weekend.

Gi1da · 07/08/2010 17:59

Toomt big hug >

(Wo)manly clap on backs to Sparkly and GLB hang in there ladies, not long to go!
