34weeks now, i am hot, fat and fed up!

My feet are puffy, my hands are puffy, and i can't sit around in my pants because we are having our bathroom done.

Not to mention the desperately trying to sleep at night.

How are you other pregnant ladies coping?

I'm not coping very well. Only 6 weeks and have horrible morning sickness I can sit around in my pants and have been but the house is a mess and I need to pack for our holiday on sat!

Pepsiginn · 28/06/2010 16:05

Yeah - i'm only 29 weeks but just can't sleep at night because of the heat which makes me a walking nightmare during the day! Poor suffering husband...

I feel your pain girl - but at least your bubs is gunna be out before me! I'm jealous!

Hazeyjane · 28/06/2010 16:08

I'm not coping well at all - I have one week to go, my ankles are nearly the same size as my thighs, dds (3 and 4) are sat in the lounge with the fan on watching yet another Disney film, because I cannot face going out into the garden.

Dh just phoned to say would I like to go out for a meal when he gets home (it is my birthday tomorrow), and I said, 'could I go to bed instead please'.

sedgiebaby · 28/06/2010 16:10

I've been sitting around in my husbands pants because my pants are either (pre-preg) tiny weeny ones or uncomfortable due to my changing shape, and my SPD means I've not made it to the shops to buy anything more suitable.

Otherwise cold drinks and fortunately my bedroom is downstairs where it is cooler

Julezboo · 28/06/2010 16:11

Thank you Hazeljane, still early days I am hoping and preying it is all worth it and doesnt end in mc again...

EmmaBemma · 28/06/2010 16:11

I'm 38 weeks now, and this is one summer when living on the east coast of Scotland has come into its own... I've been managing fine, because we don't really do "heat". There have been a few warm days, but I've just lurked inside or in the shade with a hat on.

I do get quite hot during the night but just sleep spreadeagled and starkers with the duvet kicked off - tres attractive, don't know how my husband can resist me!

Hazeyjane · 28/06/2010 16:12

I will keep everything crossed for you, Julezboo.

LooL00 · 28/06/2010 16:12

Can't cope except by doing nothing. 38w4d and I've had enough. The dc are getting a lot of very basic meals and i can't get to sleep. I just lie there twitching.

LondonL · 28/06/2010 16:13

I'm heading to the cinema... free air conditioning for a break from my sweltering house.

cbmum · 28/06/2010 16:15

32 days left and counting until ELCS unless DD2 decides to put in an earlier appearance. I've got a severe clothing crisis as I only have 2 non-work skirts and they are both long and denim so I'm frying. My only other option is a pair of linen trousers but had them on yesterday and DD1 got them messy and don't have the energy to do a 3rd load of washing today!

Lastyearsmodel · 28/06/2010 16:22

Oh good, a hot-pregnant-and-ok-to-whinge thread.

33 weeks here and on the occasions I catch sight of the lower half of my legs they are so swollen they could no longer be called ankles.

DD's loft bedroom is so hot she's sleeping in the spare room, which means DP and I have to share a bed so I can't sleep spreadeagled in front of the fan. But I can keep the fan on all night.

Am doing practically nothing unless urgent. Get DD to nursery first thing, come home, sweat, fail to play with DS, pick DD up, throw lunch at them then shout at/ignore them until tea time, endure things til DP home at 6, complain, sweat some more, chuck kids in bed, moan some more, loll about thinking about what to eat until DP gives in and cooks, pick a fight, go to bed, toss and turn, etc, etc.

God, that's better. Gotta go, DD on loo without paper, shouting house down.

Alicetheinvisible · 28/06/2010 16:22

I have got a handheld fan that has a water bottle attached, but i can only find one battery the right size for it would be sat wit my feet in the paddling pool, but the garden is too damn hot!

But on the plus side, i should be able to use my new shower tomorrow, complete with enormous rainfall shower head.

Why do toddlers feel the need to climb all over you when it is hot?

Oh, had momentarily forgotten the clothes crisis. 2 pairs of cropped trousers, that's it. Considering chopping bottoms off some old joggers but will that feel like giving up? Wearing sad old holey joggers, that is...

Alicetheinvisible · 28/06/2010 16:37

Living in leggings. Can't really wear dresses because my thighs now chafe when i walk

28 weeks & we moved house this weekend, have been on my feet non-stop for 4 days. I actually don't know where most of my clothes are (same for hairbrush, make-up, basically anything). My ankles feel like they are grinding against my feet. Do I win?

MummyFifi · 28/06/2010 17:32

I am 27 weeks, as a treat DH took me to Newquay for the weekend.... I spent the whole weekend feeling like a beached whale, my ankles are now kankles and my wedding and engagement ring hang round my neck as my fingers are too podgy to get them on Saturday I got soo hot I decided to take a dip in the sea to cool down... Got in up to my thighs and then realised it was swarming with jelly fish!!! I have never moved faster to get out! Ended up demanding that DH dig me a seat out in the sand which was lovely... I did not complain for the rest of the weekend. Now back at work with lovely air con and as much ice cold bottled water as I could ever want! Now who can I send out for ice cream...?

PixieCake · 28/06/2010 17:43

Here's my tip:
Buy a Magnum. Hold it against your forehead for a bit. Eat Magnum. Repeat as required.

ronx · 28/06/2010 17:57

I am 30 weeks on Wednesday. I cut my holiday in Germany short because it was too cold. I am regretting this now.
I have no energy to play with ds. We are both slumped on the sofa in front of cbeebies.

Buckler · 28/06/2010 18:03

am 35 weeks and feel everyone's pain. I brought a big fan rom tesco's for the bargain price of £15 it is brilliant i carry it all around the house lol. It's def helping though.
