Hi all,

Heard that only 1% of women give birth on their due date.. i was 13 days late with DD1 so not very hopeful about DD2 being on time!

Are you 1 of that small %age? Did you 'know' when it was going to happen? Any twinge and ive got my fingers crossed!

no and no sorry!
I was 4 days overdue with DS and then, assuming 2nd babies were earlier, thought DD would be about on due date. she was 6 days late

Good luck! I'm really quite - wish I could go back and do it again too!

Wanderingsheep · 07/06/2010 07:11

I didn't give birth on my due date but DD was born the day after so only a day late. I was in labour on my due date though!

Wanderingsheep · 07/06/2010 07:15

Btw, DD was born in June. She was 3 last week. It's such a lovely time to have a baby! Fingers crossed for you today and good luck .

artifarti · 07/06/2010 07:15

Not me - 17 days overdue here by the time they prised DS out!

ChairmumMiaowGoingItAlone · 07/06/2010 07:19

DS came on his due date. This one is due on Friday but I've been expecting it to come any time for ages - but clearly I have no sense of when it is happening.

I absolutely hate this stage of pregnancy!

harley85 · 07/06/2010 07:36

artifarti- EEK 17 days!

i was also tinking 2nd babies are earlier and we were convinced that she was gonna be early!

Xavielli · 07/06/2010 08:02

I was born on my due date and my sister had her first on his due date. Mine have been 4 and 1 week early. fingers crossed for another early one!

racmac · 07/06/2010 08:09

Midwife and I aways disagreed on the due date. Their calculation is based on the size of the baby at week 12 - but I made a big one. My date was based on my cycle....

They estimated 8/8/8
I estimated 13/8/8
He arrived 12/8/8 (all 10lb 6oz of him in 7hrs of labour)

Due dates are an art not a science....

IPredictADiet · 07/06/2010 12:05

I gave birth on my due date. I am sure the key was assuming I'd be overdue, as everyone insisted always happens with your first, and having a diary full of appointments in the ten days after my due date .

Lionstar · 07/06/2010 12:07

My due date by LMP was 26th
Due date by scan was 28th
DS arrived on 27th so I reckon bang on due!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 07/06/2010 12:10

DS1 & DS2 both born on due date - we are a statistical anomaly!

had no idea that this was really it though, went into labour 2 days before due date with DS1 - it just took a long time.
DS2 - went into labour on due date - thought it would take forever - he was born after a couple of hours.

JamieJay · 07/06/2010 12:14

I've started telling myself that my due date is 12th August (actually 2nd August) as I know I will be climbing the walls from 00:01 on the 2nd!!

However, based on scans my due date is really somewhere between 29th and 31st July but midwife decided not to change the date so I'd say due dates are pretty much balls anyhow

Greyskull - having 2 on their due date must be really rare.......

SoupDragon · 07/06/2010 12:16

I've had one late, one early and one bang on time

Debs75 · 07/06/2010 12:16

DS was 1 whole day early
DD1 was 4 days late and I had my waters broke so she could of been even longer
DD2 was induced 4 days early
Really hope this one is late as it is due the day the kids go back to school

watfordmummy · 07/06/2010 12:18

Both mine came on their due dates! Although with ds2 I felt i had been in labour for weeks as had braxton for ages! Both DS as well

MrsAlwaysRight · 07/06/2010 12:21

Went into labour on due date with DD1 and she was born in the early hours of the following morning. Had no indication the night before that I would wake up a few hours later in labour.
DC2 due tomorrow so will wait and see if s/he follows suit!

PanicMode · 07/06/2010 13:11

I have had a due date baby, a 39+6 baby, a 40+1 baby - and then my last was 2 week's early. I knew my first would arrive on time as soon as I was given my due date - April Fool's Day!!

JillyWillyPops · 07/06/2010 13:20

I am due tomorrow and have a feeling that i might start either today or tomorrow (have been contracting since friday but nothing regular and also loose bowels today - sorry tmi!!!)

Ds#1 was 10 days late and it was a long long 10 days!

Good luck

skippingturtle · 07/06/2010 13:23

My MW told me that only 4% of first babies arrive by the due date, no idea what percentage arrive on the date itself. I'm also pretending my due date is later than it is!

AllSheepareWhite · 07/06/2010 13:29

DD was due 24th went for a nice long walk on 18th as was getting fed up by that stage by that evening had early contractions, born following day. Good Luck to you all!

franke · 07/06/2010 13:32

All 3 of mine came on their due dates I had no idea it was about to happen with any of them. Perhaps it was just the wait of expectation that brought on labour.

funnysinthegarden · 07/06/2010 13:32

both mine were 11 days late. Both induced and born by ventouse on a Monday morning. I love the symmetry of it!

Mind you, nightmare waiting those extra 11 days with both.
