I'm lucky enough to be having a fairly easy pregnancy (touch wood), though now that I'm 30 weeks I am definitely getting to the uncomfortable stage. However there are lots of things I'm really enjoying about being pregnant - how about you?

Getting a seat on the tube
Everyone being nice to me, for example at work, and asking questions and being interested
Being able to eat lots without feeling guilty
Great excuse for shopping
Don't have to feel bad about not going to the gym/helping move heavy things etc

Could be the sickness, or maybe the extreme exhaustion, no, wait a minute,.. it's got to be the feeling that my pelvis is going to drop to pieces!

(the fact I am making a whole little person takes the crown I reckon though).

xx

sunndydays · 18/05/2010 19:39

Great thread
I'm enjoying....

Dp giving me a massage most nights
No one judging me for having afternoon naps
How excited dp gets when he sees my stomach moving in the most strange ways
Dp not letting me do the hoovering (apparently pregnant people can't do housework?!)
The total and utter excitement of getting to meet my baby!

I am sure there are loads more but can't think of them right now!

MarthaFarquhar · 18/05/2010 19:42

eating with gay abandon
being excused from covering the on-call rota at work
not having to go on all the equipment at soft play with DD

hazeyjane · 18/05/2010 19:45

Gosh, I feel ashamed that I can't think of a single thing I am enjoying about this pregnancy.

I'm going to have a bath now and try to think of something, because I feel a bit appalled by that.

fabhead · 18/05/2010 19:45

Nothing this time (no 3) - fed up with it already and only 19 weeks. Am looking forward to the little baby at the end of it though.

notnowbernard · 18/05/2010 19:47

"Eating with gay abandon" Aye to that!

Increased sex drive

Apart from that, am struggling to think of positives, I must say

People's sympathy and interest tends to wane by #3 I have found

sunndydays · 18/05/2010 19:49

I want an increased sex drive!! Mine has gone to 0

notnowbernard · 18/05/2010 19:51

Tis wonderful

DP can't keep up though, poor chap

pinkgrapefruitjuice · 18/05/2010 19:53

eating lots
watching my bump dance around
imagining the future
getting most of the bed, duvet and all the pillows
maternity leave about to start...

storminabuttercup · 18/05/2010 19:56

my pregnancy pillow!

Spirael · 18/05/2010 20:02

Personally, I love the fact that my skin has finally realised I'm not a teenager anymore and stopped breaking out regularly. Also, my cranial hair has never been so thick and shiny! Meanwhile, the hair on the rest of my body has conveniently stopped growing... Thereby saving me the effort of shaving.

The freedom to eat cake without guilt is pretty good too.

RooBear · 18/05/2010 20:04

ditto the pregnancy pillow storminabuttercup! I'm only 17 wks but i'd say the guys being so unusally nice to me its normally put the kettle on wench! now they make me tea (I work on a army base)

MadameCheese · 18/05/2010 22:26

I hear you Spirael! I'm Spotty Maldoon the rest of the time but now my skin is like a dream. I've also just had my third piece of cake . Also looking at girl's clothes in a new light

Ozziegirly · 19/05/2010 05:25

My nails are long and strong for the first time in my life.

My skin honestly looks glowingly healthy, as if I have just been for a brisk walk in cold air - all the time

I don't have to hold my stomach in.

Want chocolate = eat chocolate.

I feel really jolly and in a good mood nearly all of the time.

burmesegrumbler · 19/05/2010 08:55

At 39+5 I am loving maternity leave!!!!!!
I run my own business and thought I would find it super hard to switch off and let others take over, but in the end, not the case at all, I am finding filling my days with things I want to do for the first time in 15 years wonderful and rarely think about the business I have worked so hard to build for the past three years....I could get used to this!

toja555 · 19/05/2010 08:58

I am enjoying the thought that after a couple of years the most difficult period will have passed and I will have two kids 2.5years apart who can play (hopefully) play together and give me a minute of peace

Jacksmybaby · 19/05/2010 09:05

Ditto the not having to hold my stomach in!

In fact I have taken to sticking it out as far as poss as I am still at the "is she, isn't she?" stage (19 wks) .

DomesticG0ddess · 19/05/2010 10:11

Spirael and Cheese, I am waiting for my skin to clear up like it did last time, but it hasn't happened yet . Am 18 weeks.

I like the fact that I took DS to the swimming pool on Monday. Sat on the edge of the pool, started to suck in tummy muscles (as you do when in a bikini at the pool), and remembered - I DIDN'T HAVE TO COS I'M PREGNANT! Hurrah!

clairejs · 19/05/2010 16:42

now im 32 weeks, I'm at the 'shes clearly obviously pregnant' look, im now realising that i love

-a seat given to me on bus
-baby making the strangest shapes on my belly
-getting away with not getting dressed til midday and no housework getting done (dp INSISTS that i'm to rest-i'm not going to argue!)
-working on getting the nursery just how id like it-and not lifting a finger to move furniture!

but most of all i love seeing dp's face glow when talking to bump!

seasister · 19/05/2010 16:49

I'm only 10+5 weeks and this is my first; there are days when i've really been sick and really disliked being pregnant, and other days when I've freaked myself out with lots of fears over what could go wrong...BUT, on days like today, I love feeling positive and excited, leaving my desk in my home office where I've spent most of my adult life (working, working, working), walking to an Italian cafe nearby, taking out my book, eating toasted Panetonne and drinking tea....I'd never, ever have done that pre-pregnancy! Just giving myself treats.

seasister · 19/05/2010 16:52

Ps...And I love walking around thinking 'I"M PREGNANT' and no one else knowing yet. It's like this mad secret, and it belongs just to me and DP. It makes me quite teary to even write it

pixiestix · 19/05/2010 16:57

My bump! I love my lovely bump!

Still waiting for someone to offer me their seat on the train though...

goodname · 19/05/2010 17:10

Buying baby clothes on ebay.
Feeling the baby kicking
Felt really happy for the whole second trimester.
People being nice to you
Always getting a comfy seat
Being allowed to nap
I even love people staring at my bump for some reason.
Random people striking up a conversation with you in the street.
The excitement of waiting for the baby to come
loads of things really

Sadly now I only have about 1 week to go it is getting quite uncomfortable.

carolondon · 19/05/2010 17:34

getting seat on the tube 90% of the time.
Everyone being so nice.
Buying baby stuff, a whole new arena of shopping has opened up to me
DH being excited and talking to my bump.
Eating chocolate every day.
Hair on legs slowed down growth.

seasister · 19/05/2010 18:01

All these postings are making me cry! So nice to see such positive feelings
