I'm lucky enough to be having a fairly easy pregnancy (touch wood), though now that I'm 30 weeks I am definitely getting to the uncomfortable stage. However there are lots of things I'm really enjoying about being pregnant - how about you?

Getting a seat on the tube
Everyone being nice to me, for example at work, and asking questions and being interested
Being able to eat lots without feeling guilty
Great excuse for shopping
Don't have to feel bad about not going to the gym/helping move heavy things etc

All of it really. 26 weeks and feeling disgustingly healthy and just loving the feeling of being pregnant

auburnlizzy78 · 19/05/2010 18:27

A little kick or a thump when I'm in a meeting, reminds me what's important!

The half hour "I poke you, you poke back" game I had with my unborn son on Saturday (I have an active one!)

It's brought me and the inlaws much closer together, I'm carrying the first grandchild.

The boobs. Oh my god, I will forever be grateful to this child for giving me nine months (hopefully more) of a chest to be proud of!

comtessa · 19/05/2010 18:36

Delighting in my curvy stomach and not panicking and pulling my tummy in every time I look in the mirror.

My (multi-cultural) clients who offer to pray for the child - whichever religion they are - and one who sang Nigerian lullabies to my bump. Also, my African clients who remind me that a child is an undeserved blessing from God.

kittyonthebeam · 19/05/2010 18:42

@ comtessa: That is lovely. Very sweet clients

Agree with auburnlizzy: my boobs are at least 3 cups bigger than normal and I can't stop staring at them. Neither can DH

Lauriefairycake · 19/05/2010 18:52

I bought a navy canvas Anya Hindmarch bag in the sale - it's still too cold to use so currently still using my Boden navy patent bag

also waiting for delivery of this chanel bag My friend is giving me it as she hates red . Not that one obviously as that's one for sale

Lauriefairycake · 19/05/2010 18:53

Emster30 · 19/05/2010 19:21

OOh a thread I started has made it to discussions of the day! I feel I have made it in life...

I agree with the thing about not having to hold your tummy in, that's fab too! And maternity leave... 5 weeks to go...

i enjoyed having a ledge to rest my drink on

fotheringhay · 19/05/2010 20:02

No periods, PMT or spots. Bigger boobs, not having to hold tummy in, getting closer to in-laws. Watching bump move in the bath. Skin glowing.

Joy!

MPuppykin · 19/05/2010 20:14

No periods! Maternity leave..... am finally spinrg cleaning the house, planting lots of plants and am embarking on a project i have been dying to get off the ground for ages (in between naps).

Pushing at the baby and having the baby push back. Seeing the baby scan pictures. Spending quiet time with DH.

Being able to just say no to invitations things I do not want to do because I am pregnant and tired.

Haggisfish · 19/05/2010 22:09

I am loving being pregnant, too! the boobs, everyone being really, really nice (got a first class upgrade on train by having the balls to ask if there was such a thing as a 'pregnancy upgrade', no periods, being immensely healthy for 9 months, erm I could go on, but will stop there!

missslc · 20/05/2010 04:25

Having a 2 hour nap every afternoon.

Maternity leave- one long holiday.

The baby-sheer unadulterated bliss.

Not working 55 hours a week.
Not having to marks students books.
Not having to plan lessons.
Not having to do pointless paperwork.
Having time to smell the flowers.

Being preggers and now having a baby is one long holiday compared to working as a teacher.

tiredfeet · 20/05/2010 09:26

the first time I felt movement
all the times since when I have felt movement and kicks
DH's excitement and how supportive he has been
DH buying all the drinks as I'm such a cheap date!
No periods
the number of people who are so excited and happy for me

ellasmum1 · 20/05/2010 09:39

i had a great sex drive, and the orgasms were the best i've ever had
The first pregnancy for me was the best because i could revel in the wonderfulness of it all but 2nd time was just so busy and couldn't rest as much etc,and other people no where near as interested/sympathetic sadly!

thislittlesisterlola · 20/05/2010 09:54

I'm loving being pregnant and a bit sad I've only 7 weeks to go. Best bits for me are... Eating more. Not worrying if I look fat in clothes. Baby shopping. Increased sex drive. For some reason becoming much more assertive and confident. Not having to do much and realising mat leave rocks. The realisation that not only am i carrying a baby im going to meet him soon. Sorry this is not meant to be gushy as it sounds!

sunshine2010 · 20/05/2010 09:54

wanting sex so much, looking pretty cause it makes your skin look extra lush, great hair etc, being extra pampered, looking at baby stuff. I love pregnancy and was in college on my due date last time and didnt bother taking any leave before hand. I am trying to get pregnant again right now and I cant wait to start it all over again

FloweryBoots · 20/05/2010 10:01

NO PERIOD PAINS!!!!! and for ( months, and probably at least a few more after that.

Honnestly, I still get a kick out of realising I've not had to endure that missery for the last 7 months. Before being pregenant I'd asked both my sisters (each with 2 kids) if they would take 9 months of preganncy or 9 months of period pains and both were totally convinved the period pains were by far and miles the lesser of 'two evils'. I can only assume I either enjoy pregnancy much more them then and am having an easier time of it, or I have far worse period pains then either of them, but I'd take pregnancy over period pains every time.

Alos I love my bump, not wishing to gloat, but I suit the bump!

memphis83 · 20/05/2010 10:06

eating chips for breakfast

eating copious amounts of ice cream

watching my tummy dance makes even the hardest day bearable

loving mt dh's face when he comes home from work and rubs tummy saying daddys home and baby gives him a big welcome home kick!

peppapighastakenovermylife · 20/05/2010 10:49

I am very very jealous of all these DP's doing all the housework and those of you who have naps in the afternoon?!

I am on DC3 - no one gives a damn, it is comical how much strain my body is going through lifting DD and running about after DS. I barely get 6 hours sleep a night let alone a nap in the day and DH still doesnt get why pregnancy might be a bit tiring. I am huge and achey and only 28 weeks.

But remembering that newborn smell and bundle of gorgeousness makes it all worth while.

heading4home · 20/05/2010 10:56

My favourite thing so far this time round(11+4) has been unexpected people's open and genuine happiness for us. It has almost moved me to tears sometimes.

Also, my enhanced sense of smell means that while bad things smell really bad, good things smell AMAZING. The spring flowers, cut grass, rain on the soil...I have to stop and just breathe.

I loved feeling my dd move last time and still have that to look forward to this time round.

DillyDora · 20/05/2010 10:58
  • daydreaming about the baby
  • smooth, shiny nails
  • smooth soft skin (but still have spots...)
  • very slow growing leg hair (how odd!)
  • the second trimester!!!

Lovely innit?!

fillybuster · 20/05/2010 11:48

Not a thing. But that's probably because I'm at 36.5 weeks with #3, still working, not sleeping (due to 'jumping legs' and braxton hicks), hormonal, grumpy and the size of a house. Oh, and its my 3rd 'large' baby, so I have all the fun of a stupidly long labour, complete with tearing/epesiotomy and post-partum infection to look forward to as well.

Sorry...I know it will all be worth it once the little person who is currently trying to punch their way out through my ribcage is delivered safe and well
