Hi,

i was just woundering how long it took with each child you had (if you have more than 1)

Me and dh concieved 1st and 2nd children first month of trying, also concieved first time 2 months ago but unfortunetly had a early MC.

Me and dh are ttc baby no 3 and i seam to have missed this month

Silly me really asumming i would be lucky enough again. I know i was extremly lucky as i can take some woman months.

So do you think there is something wrong why i didnt fall pregnant first time this month?

Third month of trying each time (2 Dcs, 1 m/c).

seashore · 12/05/2010 21:20

age 37 it took 2 months for dd

age 39 again 2 months, 1 month after I had stopped breastfeeding, I couldn't conceive whilst feeding so I count from then even though we were tired but active!

slushy06 · 12/05/2010 21:31

I am lucky conceived both mine in one month.

But both SIL and my mum caught first time twice but miscarried and then took about a year.
My mum always said it takes longer to conceive after a miscarriage it is natures way of making sure you have dealt with the grief, Also to make sure you are physically ready.

Although only a old wifes tale all the women I know who have mc have had difficulty conceiving after.

bruffin · 12/05/2010 21:38

DS - 1 year

DD - wasn't trying to conceive, but MIL took DS out for a walk

hmmSleep · 13/05/2010 08:13

slushy06 the opposite is actually true, you are more fertile after having miscarried, as I happily discovered.

hmmSleep · 13/05/2010 08:16

Obviously not happy about miscarriage, happy about conceiving again afterwards.

beeny · 13/05/2010 08:17

DD1 first time and dd2 first time,i was 35 and 38 at the time.

First month of trying for us. We were on holiday having a lovely time and really think the fact we were both so relaxed made all the difference. Baby due in 4 days!

whensmydayoff · 13/05/2010 10:12

Everyone has their own probelms. I fell PG first time both times but had a hell of alot of problems with first PG and after 2nd.

We are allowed to be upset about our own problems without a competition running.

I think it was insensitive to skip the fact that the poor OP had a MC and go onto picking her up on her thread at all.

Obviously if you think how the OP is feeling and not any potential readers....she is anxious because everything went fine first few times and now she has suffered a MC which must be a horrendous ordeal and now wondering why it is taking longer than usual.

xcatyz You will feel anxious im sure but thats probably due to what you've been through. It might take longer this time just because you are thinking about it more or your body is adjusting.

Hope you are on here moaning about morning sickness soon ! x

DC1 - 2 years (ending in early miscarriage)
DD1 - 2 months
DD2 - 1 month

glasgowlass · 13/05/2010 16:27

8 years to conceive DS, failed fertility treatments along the way.

Been TTC no2 for 15 months now, had all the clomid I can have and still nothing.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 13/05/2010 16:29

3 months with DS1, first time with DS2, second time with DS3, currently 16 weeks pg with DC4 after 6 tries and an early miscarriage after the 4th try.

I know it can make you demented if you have an expectation of yourself that you'll get pg quickly. But things change over time. It'll happen.

B6 is the vitamin you need and much higher doses than in pregnacare. You should be able to get some advice in Holland and Barrett or post a bland "what dose of B6 do you recommend" in Conception. I also heartily recommend acupuncture.

Good luck.

LouMacca · 13/05/2010 16:43

3 years.

Had unexplained infertility and got pregnant with twins after 1 failed IUI and 2 failed IVF attempts. 3rd time IVF was lucky for us.

ceasar04 · 13/05/2010 20:31

DS1 19 months, concieved after a HSG (xray thingy where they put fluid in your uterus and tubes to check for blockages) and lots of heartache & tests. Apparently I just needed a little spring clean in there

Am currently 11 weeks pg with #2 and got pg 1st month of trying

Still a bit in shock 6 weeks later!!!

xkatyx · 13/05/2010 20:41

Oh wow congrats ceasar04 thats brilliant.

and loumacca twins wow i would love twins (not sure i could cope)

Caesar - I also concieved very soon after having an HSG.
Lots of people at the time (including the doc who performed it) said most women conceive very soon after. I didn't believe any of them!

PickleSarnie · 14/05/2010 09:08

About as long as it took to drink several cosmopolitans on holiday and then forget what day of the month it was.
