fucky fuck fuck fuck.

Sorry.

Am a namechange.

I have a 5.5 month old. Exclusively breastfeeding. Not had a period yet. Had sex twice. Been on the mini pill. First time we had sex, had only taken the pill for 24 hours. So not fully covered. Second time. I had missed it the day before. Did not really think of it as had it in my head i had been bf'ing, so not really a problem.

So, so, so stupid. And now I am panicking, as I had forgotten all about it. Had some twinges in the last few days, bit like a period. Also, bit like how i felt with last baby (baby no.2). I have a bit of back ache. I have sharp pains in lower abdomen, not serious (ie ectopic) just enough to make me panic.

Also, feeling neasueas today, but not sure if that is due to worry. With both pgs so far, had horrendous sickness, this time nothing, so i am stressed.

Have no money til friday to by a test. family planning have not tests til friday available.

I am either 10 weeks, or 4 weeks.

Am bricking it.

The pains feel more like i did when pg, than my last period, but I have only had one period for about 4 years, as I had the implant and when removed only one period, then concieved immediately (planned) so perhaps I can't remember.

Sit down and think it over.

Is it going to be a problem financially for you to have another? What else?

Did you plan on having another at some point in the future?

Have you spoken to your DH about your worry?

mrsmharket · 26/04/2010 12:42

oh sweetheart could the docs do test for you to cut the worrying out?

Lotkinsgonecurly · 26/04/2010 12:44

Make a doctors appointment, they will do a test with just a urine sample. Or, go and see the health visitors some of them have tests.

Good luck. ( Also our local £1 shop has tests too)

TrinityIsAPenguin · 26/04/2010 12:45

couldnt you go to the docs for a test?

where are you, I'll buy you a test

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 12:45

Not yet, he will hit the roof! Of course it is both our responsibility, but I had been taken it, did not really think it was not ok. But now, i realise I was too blase, and stupid.

We had not planned another. Logistically, a nightmare, we live in a small 3 bed, no prospect of a bigger space atm, bedroom 3 is tiny. It is only just big enough for the four of us. DH is out of work and we are not far off negative equity on the flat.

Mentally, could not cope (say could not, would if I have to), just about managing with sleepless nights already!

I will take a test, then talk it over with him. Seems daft to worry us both unecessarily.

I have knotted stomach just thinking about it.

Oh did not think of the gp. I will give them a call.

trinity miles from you my lovely.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 26/04/2010 12:49

Oh you sound so frightened. I've been there.

Could you go to the GP? They'd test for you for free.

If you're really desperate, CAT me. I have some tests that I don't need. Would happily pop them in the post later today.

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 12:50

We have had such a hard year. I was unwell in pg, DH lost his job just after i concieved, and a few other stresses.

If it had happened in a happier time, when we were more solvent, when our prospects were better, I might not be so panicky. But its just all such a big pile of shit atm.

OP posts:
mrsmharket · 26/04/2010 12:51

i think you either need to go see your gp asap or go down to your nearest pharmacy to find out if they do the free tests or the £1 ones (friendly)

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 12:52

And it makes me feel so that i even feel this way. I never thought i would be at being pg.

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 26/04/2010 12:52

Nip to the docs and see if they can do a urine test (or a blood test) to put your mind at rest.

Try not to panic. I know how scary it is, but you will be fine.

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 12:53

gp closed for lunch, will give them a call after lunch, see if I can see them. Or else, I will see the health visitor tomorrow for baby weighing, and get her to see if they can do it then...

OP posts:
mrsmharket · 26/04/2010 12:56

perhaps this baby was meant for the future and was a bit early? not sure if this helps or not but just wanted to ease your sadness

Tikkabillajive · 26/04/2010 12:59

Oh you poor thing - I can really sympathise. If you are having to wait until tomorrow to find out are you sure you don't want to share the worry with your DH?

Try not to panic or even think too much about it in the meantime - easier said than done, I know.

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 13:36

i might tell dh tbh. I don't like dishonesty between us.

I already know what his response will be. And ultimately his view on this.

OP posts:
Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 13:38

i mean, if i am pregnant, i will be telling him anyway, then need the whole 'i already suspected and went and checked without letting you know and...' where now, he is part of it, and he knows there is a chance, so if/when it comes back +, he will be already in the loop.

I am sat here feeding my little boy and he is so small and feels so much like a newborn still, although he is not now, it seems so dumb of me to put myself in a position where this could be happening again this time next year.

This time last year, I had not found out that long

OP posts:
justallovertheplace · 26/04/2010 13:42

You know, you could be worrying about nothing. When he's finished feeding can you not nip out to tesco? their tests are v cheap

Octaviapink · 26/04/2010 13:45

Really feel for you - I do hope you find out soon, the uncertainty is horrible. It is also worth talking to a pharmacist. Doctors are never quite straight with you about how protected you are with the pill (for example with the combined pill they normally tell you you must take a pill within 36 hours of the previous one - it's actually more like 48 hours) so the pharmacist might be able to set your mind at rest about how covered you were with the mini-pill. Good luck.

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 13:50

Justallovertheplace - have literally £3 til friday. DH has a job interview so can't use fuel for the car til he has been to it (not accessible by public transport). Already borrowed £20 til friday. This month has been tough as had a huge water bill and car MOT'd, and just gone down to SMP only, and DH has no income atm. On Friday, we can breathe again, but til then, the budget is tight, and we will need milk before then.

OP posts:
Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 13:54

octavia that is what I keep telling myself. I keep saying 'don't be so silly, you were not that far off time wise, AND breastfeeding to boot, all together makes the likelihood low. Then, The other voice says, it happens all the time, why on earth would you be the exception to the rule. There are always consequences to actions' and I guess, the twinges and aches and pains that could be a period, but feel more like pg are bothering me. I can explain all the symptoms away easily as my body about to have its first period for over a year, but also can be explained easily as implantation pains and stretching pains.

I am going to feel pretty stupid either way though.

OP posts:
justallovertheplace · 26/04/2010 13:55

If you are who I think you are (not a wierdy stalker type, but I think I've met you briefly at a meet up and have namechanged since then) I can meet you and give you the money for a test. I hate to think of you worrying. Am in a city beginning with E and we met at the theatre cafe?

Beenabitsilly · 26/04/2010 14:07

just thank you very much for your kind offer. I think waiting til tomorrow would not hurt, but I had a brain wave a moment ago and raided DDs piggy bank (it will go back on friday but this is important isn't it, more important than her Littlest Pet Shop collection) and Boots do one for a fiver, so i am going to nip out before getting DD from nursery.

So much for me being igconito
