I always lost weight with my pregnacies due to hyperemesis, but no. 4 has been heaven compared as ive had managable sickness-but never felt so big. Ive gained about a stone and im 29 weeks. How does this compare just out of interest byw-im not dieting or anything. I just feel like i`ve put on more than necessary so far ?

I'm almost 37 weeks and I've gained 25 pounds... second preg and gained 22 pounds with first one. Never had morning sickness so never lost anything at the beginning (I know, I know - lucky me....) TBH I am not remotely concerned about the weight as I lost it all really easily last time breastfeeding all the goddam time . Also, live in America where they like you nice and fat and my weight gains are considered low! My mum, on the other hand, thinks I should gain no more than 15 pounds and has plenty of opinions!!

birdofthenorth · 29/03/2010 16:18

I'm 20 weeks and have gained about 6 pounds, probably too much for this stage!

Just STARVING all the time!

DomesticG0ddess · 29/03/2010 16:24

Gosh you guys all sound like you have not put much on at all. I am a size 10 and put on 3 stone with my son. I am 10 weeks at the moment and have put on about a lb so far, can't imagine only putting on another 5 in the next 10 weeks!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/03/2010 16:27

Just found this on babyworld:-

Your weight gain during pregnancy won't be steady either - most women put on around 1.8kg (4lb) in the first 12 weeks, then around 0.5kg (1lb) a week for the next three months (5.5-6.4kg or 12-14lb in total) and only around 4.6kg (10lb) over the last 12 weeks or so. But remember, these are average figures for large numbers of women so just because your weight gain pattern is different, it doesn't mean anything is wrong.

I lost weigh with first and was 4Kg less at full term than I was pre-pregnancy and this time I'm 18 weeks and have lost 8Kg, so not very helpful really!

pinkmook · 29/03/2010 16:29

I am slightly paranoid now too! I was about 8 stone 5lbs prior to preg and 5ft 6in. Have now put on about 20lbs altogether and Im 26 weeks = oh shit!

please tell me Im not alone

JessieEssex · 29/03/2010 16:34

I'm 19+3 and I've put on 9 pounds. I think that's about OK but it's definitely been speeding up in the last few weeks...

so i am alone then? Wellll pass the cake

winnybella · 29/03/2010 16:40

I gained 25 KILOS and almost 14 months later have two to loose.
Was the same with dc1 and also it took around a year to loose it all.
No dieting, bf.

pinkmook · 29/03/2010 16:45

well thats made me feel a bit better thanks winnybella - am planning on BF too so hopefully that will help shift any excess

UnseenAcademicalMum · 29/03/2010 17:00

With both mine I started out around 8 stone (I am 5'4" tall) and put on about 3 stone . With ds1 I lost it all again fairly quickly afterwards, with ds2 I lost it all again whilst I was breastfeeding, but since I stopped (9 months ago) I put on 1.5 stones again which now absolutely refuse to budge.

SqueezyB · 29/03/2010 17:13

I'm 30 weeks and have put on nearly 2 stone. Birdofthe north, I had put on a stone by 20 weeks so you sound fine!

With DD I put on over 3 stone! I lost the first 2 stone pretty quickly, within a couple of months, that last stone was very stubborn and took about a year to shift

winnybella · 29/03/2010 17:15

pinkmook I think it was that I ate huge portions during pg and was partial to Nutella and marshmallow fluff, too ( wouldn't touch them normally). After pg was finished I just went back to my previous eating habits (wasn't actually more hungry because of bf) and so the weight came off gradually.

pinkmook · 29/03/2010 17:34

I am bloody STARVING! I literally do not know how people can put on so little! I dont think I look particularly over weight (like I say IM 5ft6 and now weigh about 9 stone 8 or somethiong like that) but looking at the figures others are quoting here I am ENORMOUS! LOL!

Petruska7 · 29/03/2010 18:25

I'm 40+1 today and put on 12 kilos or 26 pounds. It hasn't changed much in the past few weeks, although my bump has been growing nicely (size of a massive ball ). Most of it I put on during 6th-7th month.

BosomsByTheSea · 29/03/2010 18:31

I definitely win hands down.

I put on over 6 STONE with my twins (though I did have pre-eclampsia so a lot was water) I lost 3 stone within 2 weeks of having them, the next 1 1/2 stone since then.

I still have 1 1/2 stone to go to my pre-preg weight - and the DTs are nearly 7 months old ,

Still, they were worth every lb

pinkmook · 29/03/2010 18:38

Bosoms - I applaud you! and with twins you have every right surely to put on that and more!

petruska - so if i can only put on another 6lbs in the next 13 weeks ( haing a c section at 39 weeks) I will be ok

BosomsByTheSea · 29/03/2010 18:42

But their combined weight at birth was only 12lbs 5 oz!

The rest was peanut butter on toast

pinkmook · 29/03/2010 18:44

LOL mines all chocolate bars and M&S belgian choc covered nuts

nikkisbump · 29/03/2010 19:15

I'm 27 weeks and have gained just over a stone. I was 10 stone before. It's all boob and bump I think though - have a new picture on my page. That bump wasn't there last week!! I just looked a bit chunkier! I'm not overly worried about the weight gain. Hopefully I don't gain more than a stone now though... wishful thinking I think!

Trillian42 · 29/03/2010 19:32

I'm just 31 weeks and put on 5kg or 11 lbs so far. But my boobs haven't gotten any bigger and I'm not retaining water or anything afaik (no swelling) so it's mostly baby.

I'm ravenous the past few days all the time, so I'll probably put on the same again in the next few weeks!

My friend was funny - she said my bump was huge! And then said 'but you haven't put weight on your arms'. Do people usually put weight on on their arms?

BosomsByTheSea · 29/03/2010 19:47

Someone (who was also pregnant at the time) said to me "You really look pregnant. Like, you have the pregnancy nose"

The pregnancy nose!!??Translation; "You are soooooooo FAT! Even your NOSE is fat!"

nikkisbump · 29/03/2010 19:58

Bosomsbythesea - alternative translation "I am a penis!"

Mind you, I'd probably go home and eat half a loaf of bread and peanut butter if someone said that to me now though whilst crying to OH that I'm obviously a whale. OH tells me off for being sensitive. He just doesn't understand these hormones!

MillyMollyMoo · 29/03/2010 20:06

Absolutely loads, 2 1/2 stone at 29 weeks, but then I put 4 stone on with the other 3 and lost it immediately and don't have a single stretch mark so am not in the slightest bit bothered.

first1 · 29/03/2010 20:09

2 and a 1/4 stone at 33 weeks. Not a fan!
