ok. we have 10 days til c section for our twins. pretty sure we're gonna call the girl Cecily but still can't decide on the boy's name. I'm expecting some "neither!" answers but somewhere between those we need a decision from you cos we're getting nowhere and they could pop out any day now. Please help!

Edmund - wasn't that Blackadder's first name? In which case mock-tudor covers it nicely.

Cecily is lovely, Florian IMO is nicely than Edmund, but agree prob higher up the "shit kicked out of him" charts. Dorian is cool, less girly and I used to know a fit one

Impartialpasserby - surely you are getting in on the jokes early talking about Florian getting laid aren't you? I've laid some lovely new wooden Florian etc.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 29/03/2010 02:27

Oh blimey NKffffffffffffffffffetc, GOOD LUCK to you and to little Cecily and Florimund (too much?)

Edmund, Edmund, Edmund!
And good luck OP!

frakkinaround · 29/03/2010 15:46

Any news NKffff....etc?! Did you end up delivering naturally?!

I want to know which you pick!

It's all a big let down, i'm afraid. Spent all night awake with contractions. Woke dh up at 6am to get bag ready and get dressed and sort childcare for ds then just before we were gonna leave i realised i hadn't had a contraction in ages so we sat down to see what happened. Nothing. I fell asleep in the end. Been waiting all day for it to start up again and nothing. really gutted - thought we'd be meeting the little poncetastics today.

Edmund without a doubt! Florian is very girly, and the only Florian I know is not a nice person.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 29/03/2010 19:57

Edmund Florian flows quite well; better than the other way round, I reckon. And I like Edmund for the E Nesbit associations, as someone else mentioned.

Plus, he can "hide" it under "Ed" if he happens to go through a phase of desperately wanting to blend in.

Good luck

pixiestix · 30/03/2010 20:08

Ahh, sorry to hear that OP. I'm sure the ponces will be here soon!

warthog · 30/03/2010 20:11

good luck!

but think florian and edmund will be hard names to have to deal with at school. do agree with poncetastic.

love cecily tho, and margot. gorgeous.

Cecily and Edmund are fab names. (I have an Ed, it's cool) I do however, like the suggestion of Bede - really great name!

Krugerellie · 30/03/2010 20:17

Florian - you cannot be serious? How about Florizel instead?

NKffffffffee0f8010X1140828dc0e · 30/03/2010 23:28

Florizel - you cannot be serious?

I'm pretty set on Cecily and Edmund. It's dh who is pestering for Florian. I like the name but feel that its just not on to that to a kid.

I'll be 37 weeks on thurs and the twins are over 7lb each already so really hoping they'll come soon and i'll let you know what we decide....

YAY! Congratulations!

UnrequitedSkink · 08/04/2010 23:09

Oh good I didn't weigh in on the name debate but I was hoping you'd use Edmund. Congratulations!

Biscuitbreaker · 08/04/2010 23:17

Congratulations! x

LittlePushka · 08/04/2010 23:21

Oh, Edmund without a doubt! I have one (gets Ted or Teddy and NEVER Ed!)

(Just turned two and says to folk who ask his name "I Edmund, but you can call me Ted")

Love Cecily too,...good luck with your bundles!

Goingspare · 08/04/2010 23:45

Edmund.

What sungirltan said about Edmund in King Lear - it may not be the most positive association, but it is undoubtedly proper, genuine Tudor...

NKffffffffee0f8010X1140828dc0e · 09/04/2010 18:39

thanks everyone. I can assure you their names suit them well.
