Are there any others out there expecting November babies?

Our first baby is due on 15 November (so I'm 6+1) and I'm the first of all my friends get married and get pregnant. Would love to compare notes/worries/milestones with some other girls due around the same time...

Love Jo x

Hi everyone,

I'm due around the 22nd November (bit of a guess as i can't remember when my last period was ) I got an early scan at six weeks.. i had a bit of spotting and it being my first i freaked out and went round to the doctors in floods of tears who sent me to the hospital. Anyway, we saw the baby with a heartbeat and got a picture so I was a tad relieved . Can't wait till the 12 week scan now!

I hope you manage to get your scan sorted out, mine really put my mind at ease...

Minette75 · 12/04/2010 09:35

Thanks for the advice planner26. There is indeed an EPAU unit at our nearby hospital so I may well give them a call if I have any more concerns.

Things have completely settled now (bar the constant nausea and painful painful breasts) so I am more relaxed about it.

The painful breasts is the worst now: I am even considering getting a soft bra to sleep in as turning around in bed is excruciating!

mumcha · 12/04/2010 22:32

Hi all u should go on the november 1010 thread on the antenatal threads there is about 40 of us .xx

Minette75 · 13/04/2010 18:55

I do read it but there are sooo many people on it I wasn't sure I could keep up!

KiwiKat · 14/04/2010 21:50

I must admit, the November Antenatal thread is so busy, I feel like just another anonymous bod. I prefer this and the 'pregnant old birds' threads. Much more personal.

hi everyone i haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. last time i wrote that i was having pains in my side, well i rang nhs direct and they suggested i get myself straight down to a&e but wouldn't tell me why. so i went and 1st of all the dr said he was worried that i could have appendicitus but if i did they would have to wait till baby's born to do anything about it, so i was all in a panic about my appendics possibly errupting when i then got told i had to go up to the gyno. they took blood from me and did swabs (not a nice experience!) then told me they thought i might have an ectopic pregnancy! by this point i was petrified. she came back with the results telling me all was clear but she wanted to do a scan to be sure, i was only 5 weeks then so they weren't sure if they'd see anything and they couldn't do an internal scan as it was broken. fortunately the scan was ok and baby was in the right place. i was told to come back in a week for another scan which i did and saw the baby's heart flicker, it was lovely. i'm glad everythings ok, but my god they like to scare u in hospitals dont they?! oh and the pain i originally felt was just put down to growing pains!! i have another scan booked on the 6th may which is my dating scan, i cant wait for it, this time i should be able to bring a picture home. sorry to have babbled on, just had to get that off my chest. xxx hope everyone is doing ok xxx

JosephineClaire · 15/04/2010 14:03

Hey Kezzydee,
That sounds like it was such a stressful experience for you - I'm so glad that everything is OK with you and your baby, and that you eventually managed to get some reassurance from the hospital. I suppose they need to cover themselves, but that's such a lot of scary info to be presented with! Let us know how you get on with your dating scan x

Minette75 · 15/04/2010 17:18

That's exactly it KiwiKat. Joining the other Nov 10 thread at this late stage means you're almost invisible.

One question to you all: do you 'feel pregnant' on one side rather than the other?

This is a weird one and hard to articulate, but do you have the feeling it is all happening on one side rather than right bang in the middle of your tummy?

I've been 'feeling it' on my left side, almost like a faint stitch.

Then again, could be my digestive system!

Just wondering...

kezzydee · 15/04/2010 19:54

yes i've been feeling it on my right side minette75. apparently it all depends on what side you ovulated on when you conceived. it showed in my scan that baby was sitting on the right. so your baby has probably inplanted itself on ur left.

josephineclaire it was awfull but at the same time it gave me the chance i needed to see my baby, it made all the difference actually knowing it was there rather than just going from the results of a pee stick lol. how are things moving along with you now?

ro4chat · 15/04/2010 23:04

Hi everyone,

Just another Nov 10 bump here.

About the "feeling it" on one side, Minette75, I think you could be onto something there. My left side feels slightly warmer than the right. But I won't know where my baby is until I get the scan, in over a week. That should be interesting!

Have a good night, ladies.

JosephineClaire · 16/04/2010 08:32

Oh...now I'm feeling funny because I haven't felt a thing on either side...

I'm having a private dating scan on Sunday, so hopefully it will make me feel like the baby is actually real. My morning sickness has pretty much gone now (I'm 9+4) so I just want to feel something x

aichi · 16/04/2010 09:32

Hi everyone,
I'm 10 weeks and I think I'm expecting 15th Nov or there about, my first pregnancy. I was having a really bad morning sickness, nausea, headache from wk 6 but its not so bad anymore - or maybe I now know how to combat it before it gets worth!!

I too been having a slight pain on my left hand side, almost like period pain and I thought it was my digestive system or trapped wind or something...It does go away after awhile though...

mrsmiu · 16/04/2010 09:54

hello everyone
am a bit nervous about joining as am feeling super superstitious about something going wrong... which is why i figured it would be a good idea to reach out and say hello to you all.
My fiance and I weren't actually TTC so it came as a bit of a surprise but a really good one! We're both so excited. Off the scale. Have told our parents who are over the moon but plan to keep it quiet til 12 weeks.
I'm 6+1 i think and this is my first time. Am absolutely exhausted beyond belief and can't concentrate on anything. Feeling nauseous but not unbearable. And experiencing lots of sudden teary moments.
My tummy has been non-stop with weird stretching and general odd feelings for the last week.
I'm seeing the consultant obstetrician on Monday so am really looking forward to that!
Is anyone else having weird tummy stretchy feelings? It's so peculiar. Not really painful but relentless!
Take care everyone and look forward to hearing from you
xx

EMS23 · 16/04/2010 13:13

Hi everyone, i've tried joining the other thread but like someone else said, it moves along so fast, i can't keep up!

I met with my midwife on Wednesday which was great. Just a form filling exercise but it felt good to be doing something! Also had my first day of nausea yesterday. As much as I know I should count myself lucky that I got to 8 weeks without any sickness, I am glad it happened as I was starting to worry about my lack of symptoms.

Saying that, I do have a symptom that is undeniable and that is how fat I'm getting - I've put on 4 pounds in 4 weeks! Slightly distressing but I did start a new job 4 weeks ago which means I'm not exercising at all anymore. The midwife did suggest I make an effort to get moving!

Hope everyone else is happy and healthy
xxx

Mims79 · 16/04/2010 13:40

Hi everyone,

Joining the November 2010 Babies group !
I am not sure how other felt but I'm not sure I have completely registered yet and here is why...

My husband had a vasectomy reversal after 15 years and we only were given 25-30% to conceive. I fell pregnant 1 1/2 month after we tried to conceive...imagine the shock !!! we hadn't even received the results of his post-op' tests !

I have not been suffering from sickness, just feeling a bit 'bluhhh' :P some days... in bed at 9.15 every night and my breasts are really sore (and big)... no bump yet.
I'm off chocolate, coffee and tea and indian takeaways which I don't mind. The things I actually find painful is to be banned from my beloved French cheeses (brie, camembert, blue cheese...) and charcuterie (dried saussages, patés...) - that's a real pain.

I'm having a scan on the 29th April so we'll know how old our 'Bout d'Chou' is... I'll keep you updated on our return from our holidays (the last long haul ones for the 15 years to come)... if not before

Take care

lou19 · 16/04/2010 16:16

Hi all, I was really happy to see this thread as been feeling a bit lonely out here, only one friend who has a baby in my circle...I am due around the 15th November, I am officially 10 weeks but I reckon I am more like 7..re what Minette75 was saying, I have DEFINITELY been feeling babbi more on the left side..my main symptoms have been chronic tiredness and a general feeling of "I can't be bothered", bit of nausea but that seems to have gone now..oh, and baby doesn't seem to like meat- I've gone completely off it, esp ham and chicken, they make me gag!Hoping to go for my scan soon, which I am really excited about Is anyone in this thread living in South East London at the moment? xx

Octaviapink · 18/04/2010 08:04

Hi all. Am not allowing myself to get too excited about it as haven't had a scan yet, but due on November 5 with dc2. Endless nausea for the last few weeks, though fading now. Oddly my boobs aren't as swollen as they were last time, but then I only gave up bfing 11 mo dd a couple of months ago so that might have something to do with it. In a side note, God I hate post-bfing boobs!

JosephineClaire · 22/04/2010 10:48

Hey November Girls,

Just thought I'd update, and see how everyone else is getting on?

I had a private scan on Sunday which showed I was behind two days in my calculations (10+1 not 9+6) - so now due 13 Nov, not 15. Baby measured 33mm from head to bum and was waving and arching its back - amazing!

Should have an NHS one in a couple of weeks

They also found a large cyst on my left ovary - bit worrying at the time, but they seemed to think it would disappear on its on. Fingers crossed

Just got in from my first meeting with my midwife - spent just over an hour with her, doing paperwork/bloods etc and she was really lovely. She also mentioned that mid-pregnancy she would come to the house for an hour's breast-feeding lesson, which I thought was quite good

I've put on a scary amount of weight (all those anti morning sickness ginger biscuits perhaps) so feeling a little blue about that. I knew I'd get bigger but not this soon!

Anyway, hope you're all doing well Would love to hear your updates

Jo x

EMS23 · 22/04/2010 11:37

Hi Jo,

Lovely to hear your news and that you had a private scan and the baby is all ok. Bit of a worry with the cyst but if they weren't concerned then I'm it will all be ok.

I also met my midwife who was lovely but didn't take bloods - here (South Wales) they do it at the 12 week scan appointment. Not overly concerned about that but had prepped myself for the needles!!

Totally with you on the weight gain thing - I've put on 4lbs on the scales but it feels like a stone to be honest - my tummy isn't looking pregnant, just fat and all my trousers are uncomfortable. Bit depressing but I suppose it's ok really and no point in worrying too much about it. My main problem is that I'm getting no exercise so I'm determined to rectify that in the very near future and do lots of walking this weekend.

I do have one big worry, which maybe some of you can help put my mind at rest. I've been getting quite sore stomach pains for about 24 hours now. They feel muscular and are up by my waist, not lower down so am hoping they might be growing pains.. Has anyone else experienced anything similar at this stage? I don't want to call my midwife unnecessarily but am worried I'm ignoring a possible sign of miscarriage. I haven't had any spotting or bleeding though.

E
xx

JosephineClaire · 22/04/2010 11:54

Wow, I'd be happy with 4lbs, I've put on 7lbs in 7 weeks! I'm the same though, haven't been to the gym but trying to fit in lots of beach walking - I live on Anglesey so we have lots of lovely beach walks

I had a few twinges recently, which my pregnant SIL (20 wks) told me was my uterus stretching out - but they weren't on and off for 24 hours so maybe a call to the midwife would help ease your mind. I'm sure they'd be happy to take your call

Hope you feel better soon xxx

EMS23 · 22/04/2010 15:28

Well I spoke to the midwife and she was great, really listened and talked through all the possiblities with me. She didn't think it was growing pains, because of the sort of pain it is but I have a had a urine infection recently so she thinks it may be that and advised me to see my doctor again to get penicillin. It's quite uncomfortable and she encouraged me to call her anytime to discuss it if the pain changes or I start bleeding etc.
I feel a bit rubbish so I think the urine infection is making me ill, plus causing these pains but I feel so much better for having spoken to her and put my mind at rest a bit.

I was watching something about Anglesey the other day - one of those Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen shows on Welsh Houses and it looks beautiful there so it's on my list of places to visit now!

Minette75 · 22/04/2010 16:03

Hi everyone

There hasn't been much to post about as time seems to be standing still...

Nausea still there, almost constant but definitely worse in the evening.

Still lacking energy and motivation - not even made it to my yoga class for the last 3 weeks.

And still anxious about everything being OK while not really having any reason to think otherwise.

These really are the longest weeks ever!!!

I did manage to bring my 1st scan forward to week 12 but that's still 3 whole weeks away.
And midwife finally called today to fix booking appt for next week.

So progress of sorts...

Re weight, oddly I am slightly losing weight rather than putting it on. I have no been 8st 1lb for years!! I reckon it's because, like Mims79, I am a great lover of all things naughty: cheese, charcuterie, etc...

It's going to be a tough ride going without all these things I love!

Odd moment was last night during an adverts break on TV when an ad for nappies suddenly brought home the fact that I'm pregnant, with all that implies. Nappies! I've been so focused on the pregnancy part, that I forgot about what comes next. Eeeek!

jwiggles · 22/04/2010 16:19

Hi everyone,

just like Minette75, I am also lacking energy and motivation, and when laying in the bath last night, it suddenly occured to me that i'd actually have to give birth one day! Id forgotten about all that, as been so worried if everything was ok up until now.

I have been having alot of pain, and was very poorly with Gastoenteritis the first few weeks and so I cant wait till the 12 week scan - so we are having a private one tonight.

Please all keep your fingers crossed for me, that all is ok with bump...

EMS23 · 22/04/2010 16:30

Fingers duly crossed for you jwiggles! Good luck and I hope your baby does lots of lovely wiggles for you to see on the screen!!
