Sex during pregnancy - anyone care to share?

Hi,
Anyone care to share how they manage to have comfortable sex during pregnancy? Normally, we use the missionary position - just what works for us. I'm not a fan of being on top as I feel like a big whale right now. From behind can be tough as we have quite a big height difference so then we're left with the doggy position which frankly I'm not mad about either. Any other ideas??

Nope sorry, mostly with me and top and occasionally from behind while laying on our sides. Not sure anyone finds it comfortable when they're huge just have to find the best possible.

Hope someone else can give you some ideas

Spooning works for us :-)

Mamafey · 22/03/2010 08:34

Hi everyone. I find the topic of sex and pregnancy fascinating! I write about it a lot on my blog on here (mamafey) or on my official website at www.anna-bond.co.uk. I find I am sex obsessed, I am convinced its because I am carrying a boy!

fifitot · 22/03/2010 08:37

I can't face it tbh! Poor DH.

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/03/2010 10:51

mamafey Im the same, im carrying a boy and if me and DP arent having sex Im dreaming about it. Very graphic and realistic dreams

notnowbernard · 22/03/2010 10:54

SEx drive goes through the roof when pg

And I had a girl last time...

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/03/2010 10:55

Wow!
Have had 3 boys previously and been randy as hell, this time carrying a girl and am not intrested at all!! No sexy dreams either - most dissapointing!!

FatSeal · 22/03/2010 11:27

Spoons is about the only way, I feel too heavy for me on top as it feels a bit too deep (sorry if TMI!), and as you say, doggy's not a favourite. It's not a tremendously satisfying situation for a horny pg person I'm afraid!

Also recently I've found that afterwards I get a few hours of occasional contractions which are painful enough to wake me up and have me on all fours, so we're giving up for a bit now

Another reason to be desperate to get back to some semblance of normal!

Just do missionary except have him kneeling up, with your feet on his chest. No bump squishing.

Stickhasgrownup · 22/03/2010 13:23

Agree with James... although towards the end dh commented it was a bit like being on a seesaw!

i am the same cant face on top feel likea whale im 38wk but have felt like this for ages..not feeling doggy either, so i have resorted to nothing althou this suits me most of the time

Belsmama · 22/03/2010 18:30

I go on top- find it most comfortable and my husband seems to love my inflated boobies (38 weeks now). I have been randy as hell the whole way thru - don't know whether its because I'm carrying a boy this time.

VelvetQuilt · 22/03/2010 19:14

I'm only 13 wks so positions aren't too much of an issue at the moment BUT...and silly question...is it still alright to have unprotected sex given that the sperm is apparently supposed to bring on labour??? We've been doing it unprotected and I'm completely fine but I just wanted some reassurance???

x

FatSeal · 22/03/2010 20:30

Have to say it definitely brings on a few contractions for me, but only after about 32wks, and with 1st pg these practice ones always wore off without causing me to pop early, so I wouldn't worry too much. I think it might help to bring on labour a bit, but only if you were absolutely ready to go anyway.

HTH

annamackay · 22/03/2010 20:49

unfortunatelly i found my hubby was put of by the bump (and lets be honest THE SIZE OF ME!) but oh wellits ONLY 9 months lol

Annamackay - my husband is also using every excuse not to have sex.
From the time we find out about pregnancy, sex became very awkward. He was too careful and looked scared - he couldn't relax.

Educating him didn't help, so after countless rejections I just gave up trying
I am now 39+ and hoping our sex life will get back to normal after baby is born.

nunnie · 23/03/2010 11:45

I was randy as a randy person with dd, couldn't get enough my DH was shattered and a bit scared I think. This pregnancy no sex drive yet, but it didn't kick in till I was about 14 weeks last time anyway.
Think my DH is making the most of the rest, slowly preparing his little man for rapid use .

As for positions, top or sides (behind, from behind not in or course]. There are not many positions that are easy with a bump to be honest, but I am sure you will find a comfortable one at some point, that works well for you x

nunnie · 23/03/2010 11:48

I had unprotected sex throughout my last pregnancy and never had any problems with popping early. Isn't it pig sperm that brings on labour rather than male?

Purplebuns · 23/03/2010 11:55

Pig sperm?!! Eww

How about sitting on a sofa, and straddling?

Also reverse cowgirl, I think they call it? Like woman on top but you have your back to him.

Also lying on the bed, with your legs and bum, over/on the edge, while he kneels on the floor in front of you.

thedollshouse · 23/03/2010 12:00

Pig Sperm! You have been listening to too many episodes of Farming Today!
