After the SPD its now the 'irritable uterus' thats had me having contractions and period pains for over 4 weeks, often 24hours at a time and no sign of labour!

appu · 17/03/2010 17:33

First trimester - Nausea, dizziness and worry.
Second trimester - SPD, Heartburn, bachache.
Third trimester (now 30 wks) - Thrush, Breathlesness, size of my tummy!

don't know whats next...

tinylion · 17/03/2010 18:30

oooo

Morning sickness (all day, every day til around 30 weeks)

Huge enormous comedy bosoms and enormous backside and even bigger bump that swipes things off the table

Feeling of desperate tiredness/irritability-am mad ball of angriness all the time

Last time, no more pregnancies EVER again!

Can't wait for baby to come, and only 32 weeks!

Arcadie · 17/03/2010 20:23

Shaz I hear you.

Yama I still have the occasional tipple but a guilt free glass of vino. That I miss.

tiggz · 17/03/2010 20:32

ooo MissusRabbit I had an irritable uterus too, id never even heard of it before i had it, its so anoying, your getting contractions but no baby at the end...not fair! Its so uncomfortable having a stomache ache constantly!
tinylion i understand the big bump thing...it bashes into everything possible and its almost impossible to get a laptop comfy on you!

My BH were incredibly painful with DD, bloody awful. Felt like someone was pinching my lower belly with a massive pair of pliers. I had them constantly for two months, until she suddenly stopped being back to back when they turned into painless tightenings. With two days to go.

nickytwotimes · 17/03/2010 20:43

With ds, puking, knackeredness, SPD and cramp in legs.

This time, hyperemesis for the first 16 weeks. Really sore leg cramps, hugeness.

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/03/2010 20:47

My nipples! They feel like they are on fire and have been so sore to touch from the min I got a pos preg test ouch.

tiggz · 17/03/2010 20:54

Oh yes nickytwotimes i had forgotton about the terrible leg cramps!!!! desperatehousewife21 My nipples were very sore aswell its so painfull especially after expressing, iv been expressing from 37weeks as its then safe for baby to be born anyway...and the pain afterwards...rggghh, it kills lol
Im pretty new to this site and people keep using terms that i havnt got a clue about...its probably dumb but what does "SPD, BH, DD & DS" stand for?

OP posts:
humptyismarriedtoanumpty · 17/03/2010 21:28

SPD - symphysis pubis dysfunction

BH - braxton hicks contractions

DD - darling daughter

DS - Darling son

tiggz can I ask why you are expressing before baby is born? Never heard of that before?

tiggz · 17/03/2010 21:52

Oh ok thankyou.
Yes midwife said you can from 37weeks as baby is classed as full term then anyway, so if it were to bring on labour it would be fine, your only allowed to start of doing it 2x a day for 5mins on each breast, then whatever you get you just freeze it and keep it, kind of a heads start. And "aparently" if you do you wont go to far over your due date, but as im 5days over now im starting to think that bit was rubbish lol. you dont get alot to start with, but every little count when its so good for the baby.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 17/03/2010 22:24

Vulval Varicosities.

Arcadie · 17/03/2010 22:36

Oh Breastmilk. My partner in swollen fanjos. Never met anyone else who's admitted it before. Hope yours feel better soon.

tiggz · 17/03/2010 22:39

gaelicsheep · 17/03/2010 22:45

Sweetkitty - what is this wonderdrug of which you speak? Heartburn was terrible for me last time around but I can't remember when it really started. I'm 26 weeks and I've been suffering with acid reflux for about the last month and am expecting it to start getting a whole lot worse soon. Gaviscon was useless IIRC.

Equal with heartburn is leg cramps, definitely. The absolute worst bit of which is the recollection that labour pain is 100 times worse again!

tiggz · 17/03/2010 22:54

gaelicsheep have you tried rennie? its alot better than gaviscon, the chewy tablets are very good.

OP posts:
gaelicsheep · 17/03/2010 22:57

I am currently on Rennie Dual Action. I normally manage just taking a couple at bedtime, but yesterday I had to have 4 doses! Does anyone know if they will prescribe it?

LadyOfTheFlowers · 17/03/2010 22:59

Am 36 weeks into 4th (and FINAL) pregnancy.

Past 3 have been quite bearable, was very sprightly and lovely feeling right to the end with the 3rd who was the smallest so far.

Had regular strength morning sickness with all to about 12-14 weeks which was manageable.

This time however, my body seems to be having none of it - everything that could possibly ache is aching.
I have varicose veins in my legs, a small one in the left side of my fanjo and one in my groin which I initially thought was something far more sinister after letting irrationable baby brain and Googling take over.

gaelicsheep Yes they do prescribe stuff like that, most the time they will prescribe you something better and stronger that you cant buy over the counter.
ladyoftheflowers i know what you mean with "googling" it makes you very paranoid haha, i should learn not to look things up but i still do lol

gaelicsheep · 17/03/2010 23:14

That's good then. I was afraid that they just bought liquid Gaviscon in bulk. I wish I'd asked for something better last time now!

PanicMode · 18/03/2010 08:44

LadyoftheFlowers - I'm the same with this pg - (also 4th and final!). Breezed through the last 3 and am REALLY struggling with my final trimester this time - (am 34 weeks)....roll on the end of April!!

Thanks so much for the restless legs advice further up the thread (sorry, can't remember who mentioned it - I did have my iron levels checked, but they are 'above optimum' but will look at the magnesium idea.
