Mine, definitely, is that I simply cannot stand eating the crusts of bread.

Even as I lift my sandwich out of its wrapping, if I so much as imagine having a big mouthful of crust, I delicately gag at the thought.

Rest of bread - fine, crusts, no go.

And I'm not even vaguely queasy or sick, I just cannot bear the thought of the crust in my mouth.

That's pretty odd right?

I now physically hate the sight of carrots, not because I've been sick with them. I ate one about three weeks ago and it just didn't taste right. So no more carrots for me.

Also for some weird reason, I've stopped putting salt on my food. I just stopped, no reason for it whatsoever.

ErnestTheBavarian · 12/03/2010 07:44

found mushrooms and courgettes utterly repellant. Can eat them again now though. Went off coffee with ds1 and now, 10 years later still feel sick if I drink it (used to drink mugs and mugs of the stuff)

Bumperlicious · 12/03/2010 07:45

Food is just very odd for me at the moment. I can't really eat sandwiches, though if forced to I can't eat the crusts either. Can't face my favourite cereal of sultana bran, have the eating habits of a 7 year old, coco pops, monster munch and last night I drove out to McDonalds at 8pm, none of these things I eat when I am not pg!

I was also watching TV recently and there was an advert where clothes were walking around with no people in them which made me feel sick.

I also cannot park when pg for some reason.

Ozziegirly · 12/03/2010 07:57

It's a bizarre time.

I have suddenly started to like broccoli - haven't touched the stuff for years, even the smell would make me feel sick - but I bought some on impulse and really liked it.

Hollyoaks · 12/03/2010 08:26

I'm the same with the coffee, went of it when pg with dd and haven't touched it since though don't gag at the smell as much this time round.

However, while in the throws of bad ms dd watched alot of Cbeebies and now the theme tunes of many programmes make me feel really sick, e.g. ITNG, waybaloo, I can cook.

OzKate · 12/03/2010 11:58

I find the smell on the tube overpowering, probably always was though! Now I just can't handle it, the only odd smell thing I've had really. If I have to catch the tube I'm hanging my head out of the door taking great big mouthfuls of fresh(ish!) air at every stop, horrible!

ohnelly · 12/03/2010 12:40

Ok this is wierd but im sure the hair on my legs has stopped growing - I havent shaved them for weeks & there is nothing there!! I even asked DP to look as I couldnt bend to look that closely due to big bump (37 weeks) & he says there is nothing there!!

Hollyoaks · 12/03/2010 12:44

Ohnelly - I get that too, I'm sire hair growth is meant to speed up but for me it slows down everywhere.

memoo · 12/03/2010 12:45

Had my baby 6 months ago but when pregnant I couldn't drink coffee because it smelt like curry!

ohnelly · 12/03/2010 12:45

Oh good I was hoping someone would say that!! very strange haha

babybunting2010 · 12/03/2010 12:47

Hermya- That's really weird I too have gone off carrots, they make me feel physically sick!

The only weird and incredibly annoying one is that I really want something..... have a massive craving for it..... my mouth waters when I think about it..... But I can't bloody work out what "IT" is!!!! How frustrating I don't know what I am craving!!!

xxx

Sadly not happened yet (14 weeks pg) but when pg with DD2 my fave, oddest and most unexpected side effect was the sleep orgasms

Monstermuncher · 12/03/2010 12:54

Last time I had a thing for Pears soap, I just loved the smell and would sit there sniffing a bar for hours.

Oddest thing this pregnancy is the fact that my bump is really hairy - whats all that about?

mellymooks · 12/03/2010 12:58

Cannot stand peppers or eggs at the mo even the thought makes me wanna heave.........

LouMacca · 12/03/2010 13:49

When I was pregnant I couldn't even be in the same room as a banana. I always liked them before and regularly ate them but the look and smell of them made me feel more than queasy.

I have never been able to eat a banana since having my children 7 years ago and just having them in the house is a struggle but my kids love them

Nymphadora · 12/03/2010 14:00

I am living off fruit & water as everything else tastes wrong. I did really enjoy a trifle last night and I bought another this am & don't fancy it now.

I also feel sick when I drive although country lanes with dh driving are fine although would normally throw up on first corner!

misswisteria · 12/03/2010 14:13

If I have chocolate on its own, it make me feel really sick. In pain au chocolat, however, absolutely ~ and I can't stop eating them...Weird.
And bread ~ toasted make me feel more sick than anything else, but untoasted, absolutely fine. Very strange!

parkj83 · 12/03/2010 14:18

I've pretty much gone off anything with sugar in it, except for haribo gummi bears. As a rule, the saltier, the better...!

EmmaBemma · 12/03/2010 14:18

Eczema on the back of my right hand - never had it before in my life, anywhere.

Daynee · 12/03/2010 14:21

I love bananas now - I never did, and now I do...bananas in the morning and bananas at night in a bowl of honey nut cheerios.

AND I love cuddling now. I love to hug and kiss and hold my dh, my dog, and my cat. I'm not usually a cuddler but I can't stop!

birdofthenorth · 12/03/2010 14:24

Used to love salmon. Now can't stand it.

Am also totally nauseus at my DH's deodorant, even now I'm 17 weeks and all other sickness has subsided.

Bumperlicious · 12/03/2010 14:44

'Sadly not happened yet (14 weeks pg) but when pg with DD2 my fave, oddest and most unexpected side effect was the sleep orgasm'

Mine have started!

passionberry · 12/03/2010 14:51

At the moment (35 weeks) I absolutely love the taste of toothpaste and mouthwash and really look forward to brushing my teeth.

Also, the mr muscle lemon kitchen spray smells so lovely that I accidentally on purpose breathe it in when I spray it

RunningGuerita · 12/03/2010 16:25

I didn't know about these sleep orgasms but I had one this week. Ha, how funny.
