Anyone with a small age gap between DC1+2 got any pushchair advice?

I've been looking at the iCandy Peach Blossom but its expensive and I keep getting freaked out about ordering it in case its the wrong decision.

I have another thread going here in 'Pushchairs' but it doesn't seem to get many people on it.

Does anyone have thoughts/experiences/advice?

My DD's are 18 months apart and I got a Phil & Teds. I love it! It is so easy but a little big. However we got a side by side and could not get it in our car and we have a big car! The best bit is I can take the extra seat off as FIL takes DD1 out a lot so he can use it as a single pram. Also DD1 is starting to walk around a lot so I know that I won't have to invest in a single later or if we go to the zoo for example she still has the option to sit.

I have 18 months between DD1 and 2, 2 1/2 years between DD2 and 3 and will have 20 months between DD3 and DS, in this time I have had 3 doubles.

I have looked at the Peach Blossom but as you said it is a lot of money and I think it would be great with twin babies or a newborn and a small toddler but not so sure about having say a 1yo and a 2 1/2yo IYSWIM, it looks small.

I have had a side by side, a tandem and a Phil and Teds Sport, the P&T wins hands down, whilst it does have it's faults there is no perfect double.

This time I am opting for a P&T Vibe.

I'll have 19 months between mine; I've heard good things about the Nipper 360 double - really easy to push in the store and similar to my current lovely 3 wheeled britax that I will miss.

Not bought anything yet and kindof hoping against hope to use a wrap and the single pushchair for a bit .....

ill have 21 months between mine and just bought a maclaren triumph twin. Im really pleased with it so far, though havent used it with both of them in, just a teddy and my DD! My first buggy was a bugaboo bee which i love, but decided i would need something for the both of them. Depends if you want to splash some cash, or get something a bit cheaper like i did. I like how its easy to fold down, doesnt take up much space and is just very simple. Depends aswell where you plan on using it, ie on buses? city? country?

this has caught my attention as when DS2 is born there will be 18 months between him and DS1, and i had been blithely thinking it'll be fine to carry on with same old pushchair and use sling for newborn, or get a buggy board as DS1 is a good walker.
anyone think these are famous last words?? will i need to splash out on a double buggy afterall?!

I had 18 months between DS1 & DS2 and also got the Phil & Teds which personally I think is the best double though still quite heavy - though guess that's to be expected when you have two children & a metal frame to push around! Def recommend it though. About to have number 3 & plan to use both Phil & Ted's again though also might use the sling a bit more this time around & push the Maclaren for short distances.

i've got 14 mths between my boys and a P& T Vibe. Whilst i would rave about it - i think it's heavier than the sport, the brake has a tendency to 'go' as you are crossing a road, oh and it's a bit wider than the sport so it's tight in most doorways.

i've started doing a few more journeys with the baby in a sling but my back hurts a lot after an hour so it's good for a nice walk in the park but not much else.

but i do like the P&T for its versatility - single/ double/baby lying flat/more upright. They haven't got enough recline on the add on seat but... oh i need to go and have a chat with them re design flaws don't i?

20 month gap. I have a Phil and Teds and it really is great.

It took me ages to actually spend the money and get one though as it isnt cheap but Im glad I did

Had a 14 months gap, tried almost everything out there and settled on the P&T. Problem with side by side was a huge difference in their weights (had huge babies/toddlers), side by side 3 wheelers wouldn't fit in the boot of the car. Tandems like driving a tank and my back and recoverin SPD couldn't handle it.

Best thing I ever bought for the DCs. Plus I sold it for £180 on eBay three years later: it had had a complete hammering, but was totally sound.

18 mths apart and have a JANE POWERTWIN. Loved it SO much. DS2 is about to turn 2 now and DS1 is 3 and a half so I think it has probably had its last outing. Not in North Yorkshire are you? Looking to sell it on very reasonably!

17 mths between mine, and I loved my P+T. It tackled all weathers and all terrains, and still stood up to doing it all over again when I had dc3

i have 11 months between mine and have a phil and teds vibe and its awful my poor babys hand got trapped in the wheel! I have heard good things about the mountain buggy range and my sister swears by her McLaren double!

I have a 13 mo gap between dd3 and dd4 and have had many doubles, the phil and teds sport has been the best of the lot, the maclaren twin tchno was heavy to push and felt very uneven with different weight children in each side, the mamas and papas duette was ok when they were both small but got heavy to push, a century side by side double was okish but low quality, i also had a bertini pram with toddler seat but d3 needed to recline and nap so that went too!

my gap will be 16 months - have been thinking of starting a thread on here to see if anyone can let me in on the 'inside story' of having two children very close in age...

22 month gap and phil and ted sport. Is brilliant altho brake at bottom bit awkward. I too blithely decided that i could cope with original single buggy and buggy board but eldest would only stand on it when she wanted too. Bought p and t when youngest was 8 weeks old and it truly saved my sanity!

newmomma...first 12 months is tough butyou will turn a huge corner when DC2 walks! It is magic having them close...my two do everything together and everything I do with the elder, the younger is involved in too. Makes everything easy to plan because it always suits both. Good luck and it is really lovely when they first start chatting to each other in toddler language. priceless!

The ONLY down side is that DC2 "grows up" way faster than DC1 - treasure the baby days because they whizz away.

I had 18months between DD1 &DS, used sling a lot to keep using a lightweight maclaren, but DS was quite heavy (over 10lb at birth) so got a P&T, does the job well, but find it heavy and clumbersome to put up.

Have 16months between DS & DD2, again used sling as DD1 sometimes needed buggy, she walks well now though, but at nearly 20months DS still isn't walking so use P&T a lot.

We got the attachment tht allows a axi-cosi car seat to attach to P&T - been brilliant, especially with a baby, non-walking toddler and scatty 3 year old - anything to make life easier!!

We also looked at the 360 Nipper - would've liked this but it wouldn't fit in our car.

I had a 12 months (and 10 day ) gap between DS1 and 2 and had a Double Nipper. I loved it and am looking forward to dusting it off for DS3 and expected DS4 (2 year gap).

It is v light, turned on a sixpence even with the fixed wheel, suitable from newborn but worked for when they were 3-4, it did fit in the back of an Audi A4 Avant, and it was narrow enough to fit through a standard door way. Big airfilled wheels ment good for longer country walks, too.

I liked the concept off having them sit next to each other rather than behind each other. Also always found tandem buggies quite hard to tilt to get up curbs etc.

It does depend I think a lot on what you want to do with your pram: city vs country walking, shopping vs avoiding shopping like the plague (me ), foldability vs rigdity etc.

In summary: I'd have a DoubleNipper again - a red one this time !!
