currently in hospiital as my waters broke at just under 15 weeks last night. it is a twin pregnancy and so far one twin seems ok, but the other twin has no anmiotic fluid and little movement but does have a heartbeat.

if anyone has any experience of this, good or bad, please post. i don't think the pprgnosis is good sadly.

thanks..

Am also thinking of you & yor twins xx Hope you are all healthy!

midori1999 · 27/04/2010 22:11

Thankyou all.

I saw the consultant today and all is well so far with the babies. They are weighing in at approx. 1lb3 and 1lb 4oz, with twin 1 slightly bigger.

I am being admitted to hospital again tomorrow. The haemotologist I saw yesterday is concerned about the amount I will bleed if I go into labour. She is also concerned about further clots or pieces of the original clot breaking off and causing another pulmonary embolism. They are going to insert a thing called a a greenfield filter into one of the major arteries to 'catch' any clots or pieces of clots and prevent another PE.

It's possible I'll be in until I deliver the babies now. I am 23++2 today and I'll get steroids on Sunday and Monday. (24 and 24+1). I'll try and update from hospital, fingers crossed it will all go well!

Hang in there midori. Only another few days till the all Important 24 weeks. I am sure you will make it way beyond. I am crossing everything for you still, keep strong, and try not to worry too much, it's hard I know, but hospital is the best place to be for you and the babies.

Just found this thread

You are going through it aren't you?

Here's a couple of happy tales to keep you going!

A friend's (everyone know's someone don't they ) waters broke at around 18 weeks (singleton not twin) and she delivered dd2 at 24+5. She was moved round hospitals a lot and ended up delivering miles away from home but they had superb care in the right place and her dd2 is now a very healthy 3 yo. Her dd1 is 13 now and was delivered in similar circumstances at 28 weeks she also has had no problems

Wishing you all lots of luck. Fingers crossed for you x

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 28/04/2010 16:51
