October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Well I managed a piece of toast this morning, but I feel vile. Oh well, needs must.

Jazzie Good luck with your scan!

AllieW · 01/03/2010 12:31

Bit worried today. I went to the loo about 20 minutes ago. TMI, but I found when I wiped there was a bit of bright red blood. I thought at first that it was from straining (I get that sometimes) but it was not coming from that area. I've booked an appointment with the doctor, but I'm concerned. My sister said she had the same thing throughout her pregnancy and it was abrasion of the cervix, so I'm hoping that's the case here. I'm not in any pain, but at only just 5 weeks everything seems very fragile indeed.

Has anybody else had this? Hoping against hope that all is ok.

Hermya321 · 01/03/2010 13:18

Allie I had that after I BD with my DH. I was the same as you, no pain and in an absolute tizz from it all. I was five weeks at the time as well. Was it just the once? Your cervix is very sensitive round this point in time as you get a LOT of extra blood to that area so stuff like this isn't uncommon. Have you rang your local antenatel unit. Thats what I did and they were fine.

DillyDora · 01/03/2010 13:20

Hi All,

Thanks for your lovely posts PFJ made me cry!

Jazzie O lovey I am thinking of you and sending you big, big hugs. Hopefully this will just be a fright and we'll look back and laugh, eh?

Allie Same again - hoping all turns out well for you too. hugs

So, I was coming on to bitch about nausea and fatigue...but maybe not eh?
Hermya I hear you... I feel worse with each day and seriously considered staying in bed all day today - I sometimes wonder what I'm trying to prove by carrying on as normal! I'm just cramming in food as and when I can and hoping for the best, so far it all stays where I put it. nomore - had a great wish for sausage and mash...exciting!

HI and welcome to wateraddict and dueinoctober

xx

AllieW · 01/03/2010 13:23

Thank you Hermya!

I've got a doctor's appointment at 4.50 so I'm hoping he'll be reassuring (although I know from last time that they're not really that bothered about women who are fewer than 12 weeks pregnant owing to the higher rate of miscarriages).

I'm not spotting. I do, however, seem to have developed the slightest of backaches which I'm hoping is the power of suggestion rather than anything else. (Plus I've been carrying DD1 rather a lot lately.)

AllieW · 01/03/2010 13:24

Oh and hope the scan goes well, Jazzie

Thank you, Dilly!

ThePFJ · 01/03/2010 13:33

Huge hugs for you DillyDora.

Shall we take turns crying, or just sniffle into a cup of tea?

nomorewine · 01/03/2010 13:40

Good luck Jazzie & Allie. x

DillyDora · 01/03/2010 13:47

PFJ off tea...tastes like dishwater...sob off biscuits too wail

In all seriousness, the crying thing is getting worse, I hadn't had it too badly up to now but now I'm welling up at the slightest thing

Hermya321 · 01/03/2010 14:35

Dilly Look we have our own sniffle corner here, I've gone off chocolate too! sob (hands out tissues)

nomorewine · 01/03/2010 14:37

I really cannot drink tea anymore either. They made me a cup at work today & I managed just a couple of sips before tipping the rest down the sink. I normally love a cup of tea too.

DillyDora · 01/03/2010 14:42

Even my Dad was shocked and upset about the whole going off tea thing... good way to get sympathy

Now, I was off chocolate but find that mint aeros are still ok...hmmm....

Coffee still tastes great - better than ever in fact. Despite ms now starting in the middle of the night (or maybe it just never stops?) breakfast is the one meal that has stayed the same, I just have to eat it very slowly and with great determination.

Not long till the dr appt now allie is it far from home?

xx

AllieW · 01/03/2010 14:46

Not far, no, Dilly - 10 minutes walk. I'm hoping Immy wakes from her nap before I have to go, though, otherwise she'll be rudely awakened by me instead and that might not be pretty!

JazzieJeff · 01/03/2010 16:15

Thank God for that! Just got back from the hospital and it was all fine. I had to get on here and tell you all, thanks for all the nice vibes everyone's been sending. I was literally crapping myself in that room; especially since they had a learner sonographer doing it and obviously your uterus is quite low down so at first all you could see (according to dh) was a blank area of nothingness. Absolutely sh*t myself when I saw DH's face drain of all human colour, but the senior lady sonographer was on hand and quickly guided it to the right spot. It was literall the most amazing thing I've ever seen and I just started crying my eyes out and I couldn't stop. Snot everywhere. Obviously you couldn't see limbs or anything but its tiny little heart was there going like the clappers It was almost worth the absolutely sleepless night just to see it. It was perfect in every way and since we got home (we didn't bother going back to work, frankly, balls to it) we've decided we can see an eye and have been pouring over the photo they were kind enough to give us. Unfortunately, I've been backdated a week to 8 weeks and 3 days which apparently happens an awful lot since they date you from the first day of your last period and there's only a slim chance you actually conceive on the day of ovulation. That's actually really obvious, but I never actually thought of that.
We treated ourselves to a Krispy Kreme drive thru on the way home and I'm just sat up in bed, dozing gently and thinking sweet nothings. I didn't think a person could be so happy

nomorewine · 01/03/2010 16:23

Ahh, I am so pleased to hear that everything was fine, JazzieJeff. Bet you're so relieved!

For what it's worth, my symptoms seem to come & go - one day I can feel really quite rough & the next totally fine. Was definitely worth getting your scan though & seeing that little heartbeat. I am really pleased for you.

ellabella2 · 01/03/2010 16:30

Oh Jazzie, I haven't been on here for a while and have just been reading through the last few days of posts. I am so so glad you got to see your amazing little one's heartbeat today and know that everything is fine My heart was beating hard reading through to see the outcome . . . phew!

These symptoms are just the biggest stress ever aren't they? Maybe your due a break and will start to feel better from nowon in. They do say that things can start to settle down from 8/9 weeks onwards. The placenta is starting to take over and everything is gettign more stable

I'm now 8 weeks + 1 day so only just behind you . I've got my first appointment with the midwife tomorrow, which I'm really looking forward to. I think it will make it all feel more real.

I'm having a less queasy day today and the sun is shining so all is good in my world. It's amazing how quickly you get used to feeling green all the time! Oh I am so excited about reaching that 2nd trimester and feeling 'blooming' Fingers crossed.

ThePFJ · 01/03/2010 16:37

Awwwwwwwwwww Jazzie... thats so lovely. I want a scan NOW!!!! Luckylucky girl you are. So glad you are happy now. You deserve it.

Just ate some cheese. Am now regretting it.

ellabella2 · 01/03/2010 16:56

AllieW Really hope that your appointment is reassuring and that things settle down and all is fine for you xx

Hermya321 · 01/03/2010 17:20

Aww Jazzie thats fab news!! I'm really happy for you, I'm so tempted to go get a private scan just to put my mind at ease. I've seen places where you can get them for £65.

Allie I hope everything goes well at the Docs.

Ellabella I'm quite quite jealous.

AllieW · 01/03/2010 17:41

FANTASTIC news Jazzie. So pleased to hear all is well.

Just got back from docs myself and she was lovely. I haven't had any more blood so she said to wait a couple of days and then if there's any more problems she'll refer me. But all seems well, so fingers crossed!

ellabella2 · 01/03/2010 18:12

Sounds really hopeful Allie xx So glad you have a lovely GP

JazzieJeff · 01/03/2010 18:14

AllieW; Really hope that your little one sticks I'm sure it'll all be fine. I think as long as you're not bleeding loads then it's ok. I've got to say though, my midwife at the local birthing centre referred me straightaway, listened to my concerns and said if I was worried then that was more than enough reason for her to get me in for a scan. It's no trouble; I could've had a scan yesterday but for it being Sunday. They were quick, efficient, kind and to be honest the only thing that was going to cool my worry was seeing a picture of my little Gucci If you're thinking on it more than usual, get in there and get seen. I can't recommend it enough, because then you can get on with the important business of baby growing
Hermya; I loved the scan so much I want another one! I've heard good things about a company called BabyBond. It's 3D I believe and around £70... not cheap but well, it's not like you'll be spending it on a crazy night out in town in a hurry!

Hermya321 · 01/03/2010 18:26

Oh Allie I'm glad it went well at the Docs, sending good vibes your way. Take it easy (if you can) over the next few days.

DillyDora · 02/03/2010 11:53

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Great news Jazzie what a fright but what a happy ending!

And sounds like it's a o.k. allie so fingers crossed!

Feeling a bit better today, less sicky than at the weekend. I'd love to feel really WELL! I'm seriously just hanging out for the scan, will be 7 weeks this Thursday and it all just seems so long to wait. Maybe I'll go private - as you say - you'd blow it on a night out!

Hi ellabella glad you're feeling all lovely

xx

Selinaandbump · 02/03/2010 12:57

Hi All,

Just joined and found you all...thank god! Congrats on your pregnancies. I'm 6 weeks pregnant, only found out last Thursday so it's all a bit new, scary and exciting. We haven't told anyone yet so I am dying to talk to someone, so sooo glad to have come across this thread.

Feeling very tired and sick all day everyday, especially when I wake up (hope its not going to get worse). Work from home and finding it really hard to do anything other than just rest and eat. Really craving stodgie foods, expecially meaty things. Just ate a whole moussaka for lunch! Feel like I need a meal every 2 hours!!

Hubby has been my personal waiter when he's home.

Seeing the doc on Thursday so hopefully get some advice. Fingers crossed!

xx
