Hello Panda, Rainbow and anyone else in this situation. Let's hold each other's hands through these first few terrifying weeks

Congrats HeighHo! and to all the others that are also in the same position - fingers crossed, prayers and best wishes to you all, i totally understand how stressful it is especially the early stages!

keepingeverythingcrossed · 03/01/2010 18:52

I don't post often but read lots and just wanted to say that though i've only miscarried twice which from what i can make out is quite a few times less than you, I am now pregnant again and have managed to get past both personal milestones. I'm 14 weeks and am starting to breathe a sigh of relief at last. I feel as though the first 12 weeks took forever to pass but the last couple have sped by and i'm feeling optimistic about the future for the first time in a year or so. I wish you well and will keep my fingers crossed that by the time august gets here you will be willing your baby to make his or her appearance so that you can get your body back! Lots of luck x

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/01/2010 19:56

Heigho - 6 weeks tomorrow you are getting there one day at a time. HAve you tried a warm wheat pack on your lower back? I found that it eased the ligment ache I got in my back. I also put it on my tummy as it was only warm and not hot.

rainbowdays · 03/01/2010 20:19

Thankyou heigho for starting this thread, I had thought about it for a while but never did it. Thank you.

Opps - so glad your boobs are hurting -

Keepingeverythingcrossed.. can I shorten that to KETC? Congrats on reaching the 12 week mark. Have you had any scans yet? Good to hear you are being more relaxed now and that you could start to feel more optimistic?

I am still wondering why my symptoms are so strong so early, but at the same time really really enjoying thinking that this might actually mean this is going strong. I started the progesterone last night but I am not sure if it is doing anything as I have had no change in symptoms today... but hey I am going to try everything I can to make sure that I have a September baby this year!

PandaEisGOTABFP · 03/01/2010 20:37

hi

thanks for making this thread heighHo

should we put our weeks count on here so we can keep track of milestones maybe??

mine is..

HeighHo · 04/01/2010 11:17

Aah, what lovely messages. thanks keepingeverythingcrossed, that's lovely to hear you've got to 14 weeks after 2 previous mc. Even after one mc, suddenly your belief that you'll get a baby from seeing that positive line is shattered, so I'm really pleased for you. Thank you for your good wishes.

Oopsandababycoconut, your post made me well up, that you'd realised today is a bit of a milestone to get to 6 weeks. Thank you, can't really believe it, 6 weeks and no bleeding yet

Rainbow glad the symptoms are still going strong. Am a bit of your progesterone, really hope it makes the difference. Did your private consultant explain why s/he'd prescribed it?

Panda thanks for starting a list. How are your symptoms?

PandaEis 4+1 (EDD 13/9/10 optimistically hopeful)
HeighHo 6 (Don't want to look at possible due date yet as can't believe I'll get there )

morning

im having a panicky morning so far i did another cheapie test and it was BFN it was with first morning wee and it was the same brand as my first BFP!! i am now convinced all is doomed

why cant it just be easy?

HeighHo · 04/01/2010 11:56

Oh Panda, that's so worrying, but it is SO likely to be this recent test that's wrong and that you ARE still pregnant. I had to keep reminding myself 'I have not got my period, so I really MUST be pregnant still'. We all know you can't get false positives, but you CAN get false negatives.

Can you test again with a more reliable brand? Thinking of you, let us know how it goes x x

PandaEisGOTABFP · 04/01/2010 12:02

hi heighHo

its my own bloody fault for testing early as i get the BFP and then start to bleed days later!! i havent had any bleeding but i have got back pain today. all my other symptoms i had are still here like sore boobs and nipplesand they seem MASSIVE aswell!!(much like this...( @ )( @ )...) so much so that DH has commented im shattered and my temp is still up and i seem top have LOADs of CM which is very unusual at this stage in an 'normal' cycles of mine!! its so frigging confusing!! i need to just stop testing and wait until i am past 5 weeks and then test again

HeighHo · 04/01/2010 12:26

How many times has that happened, Panda, where you get a BFP and then start to bleed?

Your symptoms sound good, though, ha ha, and if your temp is still up and no bleeding, you are still pregnant.

Good luck x

PandaEisGOTABFP · 04/01/2010 12:38

i have had about 2 or 3 times where i have had faint BFP and then AF arrived on time and i have had 4 early MC with BFP and then bleeding starting within a week or two. im feelinglike my head is in a spin today as on the one hand i have all these symptoms i dont usually get but i got BFN i did only get a faint BFP when i first foud out i was preg with DD and i was about 6 weeks at that point and she is currently playing with her dolls house we got her for christmas, a healthy happy almost 4 year old so it can go smoothly despite a shakey start my heads up my bum today lol

woollyjo · 04/01/2010 12:49

Hi All,

Congratulations on your BFP.

We have a thread Here for ladies who have been through a variety of nightmares to get pg.

You are very welcome if you fancy a bigger crowd.

Take Care

keepingeverythingcrossed · 04/01/2010 13:55

Hi rainbow, i've had 2 scans, 1 at 8+4 as i was anxious and cramping. Rang my GP and she referred me to the EPU. Cannot express how relieved i was to see a good strong heartbeat. Then usual nuchal scan at 12 weeks. This pregnancy was pretty much make or break for us as the miscarraiges affected me far more than I would have thought. Our health authority will investigate after 3 recurrent miscarraiges but that is very frustrating when you get a positive result for the third time. After lots of reading up i discussed low dose asprin with my GP at an early appointment and she said that while she couldn't advise me to take it (covering her back i assume?) it wouldn't hurt to take it. I'm still taking 75mg every morning and while there's no evidence to suggest that it has been responsible for me staying pregnant i'm going to continue to take it on the basis that it isn't doing any harm. Also it could be having a placebo like effect in that it is alleviating my anxiety. Sorry for the long rambling post, as i've said before, i don't post often (probably because i can't keep it short) Good wishes to all.

rainbowdays · 04/01/2010 22:28

KETC - I can understand the wondering if the asprin is placebo but at the same time nor really caring as it helps relieve the anxiety!

Panda - it was probrably just more dilute wee or less dye in the test this morning. I can't help testing everyday with cheapy tests, but I think it helps me a little, but I never take just one test/one wee time in isolation, as it can be very misleading. I hope you can relax and just be reassured with your symptoms.

Heigho - my consultant that recommended the progesterone basically seems to put everyone on it! In almost the same vain as the asprin, it does no harm and might just help!. The only thing that is a little worrying is that it can sustain a failing pregnancy for a bit longer, it won't stop a m/c, but it can delay it occuring. But I am thinking positive, that I do need it due to my age, (eostrogen levels high but progesterone just normal, in pre-menopause stage). So I am glad to be taking it and seeing if it is my hormones rather than bad eggs causing the m/c's.

I hope that all of us get successful pregnancies this time, despite our histories, that 2010 is different for us all.

Wooly - thank you for the invite to the other thread, hope your pregnancy is progressing ok at the moment too.

MumNWLondon · 05/01/2010 12:02

BTW GPs can prescribe progesterone.

Low progesterone levels would show as a temperature dip or no clear temp rise during the 2 ww (see taking charge of your fertility). A day 21 progesterone blood test (taken 7 days post ovulation) which GP can do can confirm.

Not helpful I guess at this stage but something to bear in mind for anyone else reading this thread.

rainbowdays · 05/01/2010 12:41

mumnwl- Thank you for the information. For me unfortunately, my gp refused to prescribe progesterone, as my levels were ok, but the fertility clinic, said that my levels were not ok.... not sure who is right, my estrodial levels were high but my progesterone levels about average, so I was told that the levels need to be higher for my progesterone so they prescribed the progestone for me. However my gp will still not prescribe it! I am confused as to who is right, I know there is huge debate over whether it actually does any good, but I need to be trying something!

PandaEis · 05/01/2010 13:59

things dont look good for me unfortunately bad cramps and back pain and bleeding started through the night so...

MumNWLondon · 05/01/2010 14:32

re: progesterone: from what i understand it doesn't do any harm (other than can sustain an unviable pregnancy for slightly longer than it would go on otherwise), so in the case of recurrent miscarriages if there is any doubt about levels its worth pushing GP for.

i would always think that the specialist is right because its their area of expertise, although maybe just being cautious?

rainbowdays · 05/01/2010 15:09

panda

oopsandbabycoconut · 05/01/2010 18:03

Panda {hugs} very for you. can you see your GP about it? There is obviously something going on that you are not getting past this stage. Please, please see someone and don't be fobbed off with GP excuses make sure you get a refferal.

How is everyone else today?

Alium · 05/01/2010 18:57

Oh PandaEis, I'm so very sorry. Thinking of you x

Alium · 05/01/2010 18:59

Sorry Panda, should have said, been reading, but not posted before, but felt so sad for you x

HeighHo · 05/01/2010 19:55

Really sorry to hear that, Panda. How desperately sad for you again .

OP posts:
MumNWLondon · 05/01/2010 20:01

Panda - really sorry to hear.... as the others have said do go to GP and insist on referral...

Also probably would be useful (if you don't already) to start charting your cycles, might help doctors work out what is happening.

HeighHo · 05/01/2010 22:20

How have things been today, PandaEis?
