Pregnant bumps and never been pregnant idiot females!

Just been to the ante natal appointment hour at GP's and waited with all the other pregnant ladies. In walks this non pregnant woman for a nurse's appointment. She stops at the door of the waiting room and her eyes literally bulge as she slowly stares at all of us like we are some odd species she's just encountered.

Sits herself down and starts tapping on her laptop and in between long sighs over the work she is doing, she stares and stares at each of us and our bumps as we takes turns to have our weight and urine done. And then does a little shudder when the most pregnant lady (38 weeks) walks past her to GP's office. Maybe I should have take it more in my stride. Called her stupid cow as she stared at my bump when it was my turn to see GP.

I am fed up with idiot females like these. It doesn't happen often but it when it does, it makes a pregnant woman feel like a beached whale or the goodyear blimp. Never mind the hot weather making me feel much heavier than usual. Maybe I should have sat on her and flattened the tan out of her limbs.

perhaps she wasn't meaning to be rude - perhaps she can't have children herself and has built a barrier around her to try to deal with it - perhpas she is envious - perhaps she's had a previous bad experience with her own pregnancy - perhaps perhaps perhaps

I love it when my sister in law gets all gooey over my bump... after about 7 months she never has her hands off me lol!

i met someone i knew not very well (-shes 28 childless obviously) after i had dd(she was about 3 days old) and she shuddered and said i cant believe 'that' came out of you three days ago -like i had spawened a monster (not a beautiful tiny girl) i crossed her of my chrissie card list right there -silly cow

I had considered whether she was staring at us because she couldn't conceive, had miscarriages or wanted to be pregnant. (Sat there for a good half hour before my turn so could muse in the heat). I did think back on my own experience - failed IVFs, miscarriages, etc before this one worked and remembered how sad and envious I felt when I saw other pregnant ladies.

Meeting other women who were in the same boat at the time, some of us did build up barriers but can't say as I've encountered quite that negative reaction and did weigh it up before I muttered at her when I walked past.

Maybe she was surprised to see so many bumps at once at the docs, I am always shocked when the baby clinic is on at mine as you can't move for buggies (and screaming babies).

I always stare at bumps, pregnant women are gorgeous imo.

Hope she was just envious and in which case, I am rightly sorry for the mutter!

I do love knowing our child is growing me in even when I feel like the goodyear blimp.

Pregnant women are allowed to call everyone including the Queen a stupid cow in this heat IMO lol

I get stared at all the time. I HATE it.

My baby is due today, so yes, I look like the proverbial Goodyear Blimp. Yesterday I walked to the newsagent to pay the paper bill. Had to walk along a main road. Every car that went past, if there was a woman in the passenger seat, she would almost lean out of the window to stare at me.

I don't care what the reason is, it's bloody rude. For the past few months I've made a huge point of staring at people's stomachs if they do the same to me. I mean, really getting close and staring!!!!!

It soon gets the message across. Kids are the worst, but you have to forgive them!

I make a point of staring back as well, Mogwai and breaking into a grin and waving if I get smiles back. Fingers crossed that baby pops out today.

I stared at a woman with an oddly shaped bump once I'm so ashamed.... but it looked almost pointy... oh dear digging own grave... wish I could apologise to her and her triangular bump!

think it's sad if you think people are staring at you to ridicule you or think you look bad, I genuinely think that most people who stare at pregnant women are either jealous or admiring. I really do.

Not envious of you mogwai giving birth in this heat you poor love, I hope it cools off before your labour starts!

I don't think that, Oliveoil. But it does happen that some women who haven't been pregnant are struck in a not very positive way about how large we have to get and they make no qualms about being making their disbelief known. That, I find rude. I also dislike staring. I prefer that someone come up to me if they have an opinion on the matter and say what they are thinking. Good or bad.
