Hi everyone,

I'm currently 9 and a bit weeks pregnant and my due date is 1st July 2010. Am very excited and thrilled to be expecting my first baby! There are so many questions and thoughts though and I want to share these with other women in the same situation. Feel like i live in the toilet at night time lol, i also feel really sick at night time. Been getting tummy pains too don't know if i should be worried ir if it's just things stretching got a scan Friday wish me luck x

stac14 · 14/12/2009 12:42

buckler I have had a lot of pains too, first it was a urine infection then the doc said it will just be the stretching. My friend had them all through her pregnancy but I didnt have any with my first, probably because I was 11 years younger lol. I'm sure your scan will be fab. Is this your booking in appointment? xx

blackcurrants · 14/12/2009 12:48

dizzygirl25 I know what you mean about not really believing it's happening - even though I feel very different, I keep being shocked at the idea that I could be pregnant, IYSWIM.

And yes, I'm very, very lucky in DH. I mentioned this morning as he was leaving for work that I was really impressed he hasn't expected me to start ironing for him when we moved in together/got married. His response?
"I've seen you iron a shirt, love. It's better I do it..."

he's right, too! So, since it's his ironing, he does it

blackcurrants · 14/12/2009 12:49

Oh I meant to add: buckler, I'm sorry to hear you're having pains - I get twinges, seems like it might it be ligaments stretching?

Anyone else staring at extremely pregnant women and thinking "oh god, how am I gonna cope when I'm that huge?"

kapars · 14/12/2009 13:08

Stac - Hip is a lot better thanks. The drs surgery called and said the tests came back and it was nothing serious but I am going to see the dr on Wed. I think it must be ligaments moving and something had come out where it shouldn't...Maybe it's a little early. It seems like I might need some physio. Maybe you need some physio too?
Mine got so bad I couldn't walk but it has eased off now.
God luck with the scan Buckler! How many weeks along is that?

stac14 · 14/12/2009 21:24

blackcurrant I have been that very pregnant woman when I was pregnant with DS, still frightens me to think I will be that way again in a few months lol, although hopefully baby wont be as big this time. DS was 10lbs 6 ounces so you can imagine how big I was lol

kapars hip pain seems to come when I have been walikng about a lot, also still get crampy but I'm sure its the ligaments stretching so trying not to worry.

Hope everyone else is well xx

blackcurrants · 15/12/2009 02:35

Hah! stac14 I can imagine - my SIL was that big with all her kids (The newest 11lbs!) and she's quite a short lady, too. She always shifted it pretty quickly - BFing all the way!

Aaahh, I'm glad monday's over. I felt unqueasy enough to make and eat dinner tonight - how are you all doing with m/s? I confess I had a bit of a panic earlier today when I thought "I don't feel sick anymore... something must be wrong!" then I had a deep breath and told myself that maybe I'd only had two weeks of it and was just lucky. I think I'm a bit of a worrier about this...

How's everyone's tues going?

stac14 · 15/12/2009 12:52

blackcurrants makes you wonder why woman have more kids when they have had big ones lol. I know what you mean about symptom spotting I have a habit of squashing my boobs to make sure they are still sore, before the scan it was doing pg tests to see the 2 lines lol. Tuesday is fine so far, been to the shops and I am going to do some xmas wrapping, trying to get it done so I have the weekend free to be a lazy prego lady lol. DP has works night out on Saturday night so will get lots of munchies and enjoy xmas movies What you been up to?

How is everyone else today? xxx

Buckler · 16/12/2009 12:09

scan coming round getting very scared never made it this far before!! Think of me at 9:45 on Friday am scared because if it's bad news i just won't be able to cope!!

Buckler · 16/12/2009 12:14

ps jbro are u okay? Haven't seen you post for a while.

stac14 · 16/12/2009 12:46

Hey buckler you will be fine, it is normal to feel nervous before your scan. Not long now hun. Think positive xxx

blackcurrants · 16/12/2009 13:02

Thinking of you, buckler!

I'm stressing about a really, really, really important exam on Friday. You'd think aged 30 I'd left really, really important exams behind, but it seems not... and I should have done it a couple of years ago, and because I 'forgot' it is now vital that I take and pass it before the year's end. Ooops.
So yeah - pregnancy stuff has taken a bit of a back seat to that. Oh, and my plantar fasciitis is flaring up again.
Still, as I tell myself at least once a week, "I'm still pregnant!" and that's pretty exciting.

DH is telling his boss today at their annual review meeting (as part of his "I want to work extra hours in the spring/summer" conversation. We're starting to tell people at 9 weeks - not sure if we should, but I just feel ready. So far only my parents and 2 best friends know. What about you folks, have you told anyone?

kapars · 17/12/2009 13:08

Good luck with scan Buckler for tomorrow and good luck with exam Blackcurrants.
I think when you tell people about pregnancy is highly personal and what might be right for one couple may not be for another.
My first pregnancy which ended in miscarriage in March we told parents at 5 weeks, close friends around 9 or ten weeks, then my mum told a few other relatives and they all made a big fuss. So that when had missed miscarriage at 11 weeks it was very distressing.
But usually the people you tell first are the people you need support from anyway.
This time we told my parents at 6 weeks, and have only just told MIL, have told a few close friends. trying to keep it in til scan on 29th but it's difficult and I blurted it out to another close friend yesterday.
Enjoy telling your friends!
I've been back to work this week after a break last week and started to feel slightly less sick and tired.
How is everyone else??

stac14 · 18/12/2009 08:30

Hi buckler good luck for your scan today. I'm sure you will be fine.

Blackcurrants Good luck with your exam. What are you studying? Also just to be a bit more nosey what is planter facaitus?
Kapars It must have been awful for you last time hun, can totally understand why you are being cautious. We thought I was two weeks further on than what I was so the wait for 12 weeks has been agonising. Still have knicker checking days. We have told some people but it's not common knowledge, waiting till the new year for that. How long till you tell all?
Hi to evryone else, hope your having a great Friday. It's dp and I's anniversary today so we are having a quiet night ourselves xxx

Buckler · 18/12/2009 12:00

Hey everyone good news scan good!! I'm 7 wks and 4 days so still early days i know but heart beat there and yolk sac, baby measuring 11.6 mm so grown nearly five times since 1 wk and 6 days ago. Said there's no obvious reason for belly pain could be everything stretching. Happy but still very cautious and nervous! DH dancing round the room with tears in his eyes and me still standing there being a pessimist lol!!
How is everyone?

kapars · 18/12/2009 19:58

That's brilliant news Buckler. Very happy for you.
Stac - Happy Anniversary.
will probably tell all the people we want to tell after 29 dec when we have scan. Then other people will probably guess as my belly is quite big already!!
Is anyone else showing much yet?? I am 11 weeks along though now.

blackcurrants · 18/12/2009 20:09

Congrats on the great news Buckler - I agree, it's hard to STOP worrying, but I'm so pleased for you that I think you should join your DH in a dance or two
Stac: Woo for Anniversaries! Hope you both have fun. Plantar Fasciitis (or however you spell it) is an inflammation of the tendon between your heel and the ball of your foot (the plantar fascia) - it makes it bloody painful to walk. I've been in physio for months, with no end in sight, and my dog's getting a bit lardy cos she's not getting enough exercise! My podiatrist is determined to treat it before the 3rd trimester or it will come back/get much worse and I'll have to just be a big belly on wheels, or something!

My exam is DONE and it wasn't as terrible as I'd hoped - fingers crossed I passed and it's all behind me. Now on sofa waiting for DH to get back from his last day of school (he's a teacher so although all the kids finished at lunchtime he's packing up the classroom, etc), and pondering a nap. Is anyone else completely knackered still? I get to lunchtime and just want to go back to bed!

stac14 · 18/12/2009 20:34

buckler great news about the scan hun, its nice to see them on screen isnt it

kapars thanks for the anniversary wishes, I'm not showing yet but I am only 10 weeks this week so may be popping out soon lol

blackcurrants ouch that sounds sore, yay for school holidays. Ds doesnt finish school till next tuesday so I still have a couple of days peace before he finishes lol. I am still totally shattered would love to go to bed right now lol. Are you further on than me? Sorry nappy brain has kicked in quick, i'm sure you have told us lol

xxx

del1 · 18/12/2009 22:30

Hiya everyone, havn't been on for a while, had some sort of virus for the past two weeks. Been totaly exhausted, and struggled to do anything. Good news is, feeling better today, and - yippee - my mornng sickness seems to have eased off aswell !!! Im about 12 1/2 weeks by the way. So all you ladies suffering, there is some light in the tunnel coming soon!! lol
Bad news is - I rang to book for my 12 week scan, and they said they were really busy. The nearest appointment will be 7th December. I will be 15 1/2 weeks by then !!
Well disapointed!! Had a bit of a strop on the phone, but I blame the hormones!!

del1 · 18/12/2009 22:32

I meant 7th January by the way for the scan date( oops - it's late) x

blackcurrants · 19/12/2009 03:09

bah, del1, I'm sorry you have to wait that long, that's a real pain! I need to call the Midwife I want to use - I'm only in my 9th week but I want to make sure I get booked in for that 12 week scan! (American system for me, so bit different). I am GLAD to hear your morning sickness has improved - there's a light at the end of the tunnel after all!

blackcurrants · 19/12/2009 03:11

Also, I have to add this cos it made me giggle, earlier this evening I gave DH and hug and he glanced down and said "Hello! These are new!" I've been muttering about my bras not fitting and my breasts being sore for ages, but now he notices?!
MEN!

del1 · 19/12/2009 21:45

Ha Ha, yes bigger boobs. Instead of a hug, kiss and 'hows your day been'. He goes straight in for a grope and says 'phwoar'! lol

blackcurrants · 20/12/2009 12:36

Anyone else here experiencing hip pain at night?
I like sleeping on my stomach best, but that's now becoming (week 10) a bit uncomfortable. So I slept on my side for a while - and woke up with the most agonizing hip pain on my right side. I thrashed about in the bed for a bit, and eventually woke up dh to tell him (he likes being involved in the pregnancy... even at 7am on a sunday morning, right? [evil face])
and now I'm pacing my flat, drinking milk, doing hula-hooping movements, and stressing because I'm really tired and I am petrified I will be unable to sleep for the next seven months.
Someone tell me it goes away!

Buckler · 20/12/2009 17:33

Hey everyone thanks for your kind words.
Know what you mean about the boobs men are funny aren't they lol. I feel guilty cause don't want to have sex till over twelve weeks the two miscarriages i've had have haunted me so much! Know that sex doesn't cause it but just feel worried does anyone else feel worried about it? Plus who feels like it when they feel sick for most of the day lol.

Hope everyone is okay and getting ready for Christmas.
