Hi ladies, can I join back in? I posted last week but have been hectic since.

kapers I have had a lot of pains and was sent for an early scan last week, seems its just ligaments as baby was where it should be, hope your doc puts your mind at rest

buckler del and kapers I am so loving salt and vinegar crisps, pickles and beetroot so yummy lol. Anyone else got food they are loving at the moment?

I am off to the hospital for my booking in appointment, got it early as I have an underactive thyroid and they want to keep an eye on it. Hi to everyone else I missed, chat soon xox

viksam · 09/12/2009 18:32

Hello ladies, How is everyone today? Im really fed up and tired today and its been my day off, what fun! I honestly thought I would be on cloud 9 when i was pregnant, how wrong was I. Tea hows everything with you? Kapers you were going to the docs about ur hip, what did they say? stac I too have an underactive thyroid but they havent said anything about extra monitoring, how did ur appointement go? I think im going to phone the doc's tomorrow and request another scan as Im really not comfortable with waiting untill after xmas. Is this the emotional rollercoster I have been reading about, my poor husband, Im worried he is getting fed up with my miserable face! xx

stac14 · 09/12/2009 19:13

Hey viksam My appointment went well thanks, I am 8+4 so due 17th July. My gp checked my bloods 2 weeks ago and I was the top end of normal bordering on overactive so they need to check your levels to ensure your meds are correct as it can go up and down when pg ask your GP about it as it is important. I have to go back for another scan on 6th January for 12 week scan and booking in. How far on are you? I totally understand you feeling down, one minute I am happy the next I am down. Its all the hormones, also its hard to be jolly when all you feel is shattered. DP is doing loads for me just now but I feel guilty for letting him.

How are the rest of you ladies?

viksam · 09/12/2009 21:34

Hi stac I will defo phone doc tomorrow re thyroid. Im 9 weeks tomorrow so we are at the same point give or take a few days. Interesting to hear ur appointement isnt till 6th Jan. Mine is 29th Dec and I felt that was really late. My scan isnt booked yet but i guess it will be a few days after that. Have you told anyone yet? Im glad you get my rollercoster feelings, i know its hormonal but it doesnt make it any easier to deal with. Ur right about the shattered thing, my god, i dont even have to do anything and im tired. I guess all these things should be reausuring really but they are not, I really want another scan!

stac14 · 09/12/2009 22:24

Hi viksam I got a scan last week to ensure I wasn't having an ectopic pregnancy and then I got another one today to tell me my edd so they are happy with my progress and feel it is safe to wait till I am 12 weeks so they can check the skull is forming properly, to be honest I shouldnt have had so many scans just lucky lol. We have told close family and a few friends, it slipped out a few times after they told us everything was fine with last weeks scan, have you told anyone? Off to bed again, love it there just now, cant wait to get the burst of energy in 2nd trimester lol, take care x p.s you can get private scans which range from £60 to £100 which has nothing to do with the nhs x

Buckler · 10/12/2009 09:46

Ah the waiting game!! It's so annoying having to wait isn't it? All i want is to be strapped to a heart monitor all the time lol. I had an early scan last sat (nearly six weeks) and having another boxing day when i'm nearly nine (My previous two never made it past nine weeks) Fingers crossed!!!! Mood swings are weird my poor husband doesn't know what to think i just seem to live on the sofa at the moment feel like i'm shutting out but i'm just so exhausted, he keeps saying he'll take me out but all i want to do is stay in and chill anyone else know that feeling? Haven't told many friends yet which is diffiult as all the xmas parties invites are coming in thick and fast. running out of excuses now so might have to say something or invent something new. It is bloody hard this pregnancy business we are all programmed to believe it's the most natural thing in the world hence doctors saying 'carry on as normal' but it's really hard to do that as i just want to wrap myself and mini bump (maybe just salt 'n' vinegar squares bump) up and hide away. Anyway enough rambling from me hope everyone else is okay and at least we've got xmas to distract us all from the long wait. Good luck everyone xx

stac14 · 10/12/2009 14:33

buckler I am in love with my sofa at the moment, but over the past couple of weeks we have been so busy xmas shopping and seeing friends I am hardly getting my butt on it lol. Doctors (usually men) think its so easy to carry on as normal when you feel like something has invaded your body lol they ought to try it sometime. I just explained to dp that my body is making a wee person so of course I am tired a lot. Hows your morning sickness?

How's everyone else today? You all set for Xmas? xx

kapars · 10/12/2009 14:51

Hope everyone is ok.
I had a mad dash to A and E this morning as I woke up with blood in my knickers. After having a miscarriage in March it was terrifying but thankfully all is OK!!!!
I have got to ten weeks and could see the baby's hands during the scan. Massive relief.
Viksam - still not heard about my hip yet.
I am in the wars right now and in and out of different hospitals. But pain has eased off.
Buckler and stac - are you ok?
Pregnancy is just not much fun so far is it?
I don't want to do anything at all but am bored doing nothing.
I find pineapple, satsumas, mango and fizzy water with orange all great for sickness as well as crisps and white toast.
Moods swings are terrible.
After my A and E trip I went and had a big veggie fry up in my local cafe.
We've not got long now til 12 weeks - so hang in there ladies. x

stac14 · 10/12/2009 17:27

kapars thats great news, did you get a pic? I bought the travel sickness bands that u put on ur pressure points, have 2 say they r quite good at the mo. When you due? X

kapars · 10/12/2009 17:38

I'm due July 7-ish. How about you?

Buckler · 10/12/2009 17:47

Ah Kapers what an ordeal!! But seeing the baby and how much it's grown must have been amazing. Just keep looking at that scan picture when you get down.

Morning sickness is the same i'm not being sick just feel it most of the time but hey i'll put up with everything as long as this baby makes it.

Want boxing day to hurry up though so i can have another scan......

stac14 · 10/12/2009 18:42

kapars i'm due 17th july just want to get by my 12wks x

Rosebud87 · 11/12/2009 14:06

Heya,

I'm due very end of June, that's pretty close :-) Will have my scan soon. Very very excited. I've been feeling sick most of the time but have found that eating a snack like a rice cake or something similar always helps. I also feel exhausted and want to sleep all the time, not good when I need to concentrate at work! I hope things improve soon.

kapars · 11/12/2009 18:14

Rosebud - I know how you feel. I took this week off work - I"m self-employed - as I have been feeling so exhausted lately and I have done nothing but slob around and sleep (as well as make a few panicked trips to hospital).
I was skyping my parents at 2pm an realised I should probably shower before I speak to them next time. My mum looked so glamorous while i...! I feel so lazy but also have no desire to do anything at all.
How is everyone else's exhaustion levels and sickness?

Buckler · 11/12/2009 20:07

bleugh bleugh feel so sick do you think it's a bad sign?

stac14 · 11/12/2009 20:44

buckler I think its a very good sign hun, I have been feeling sick pretty much all of the time lol. I bought travel sickness bands that fro me are actually working lol. I am 9 weeks tomorrow but during your 8th week the sickness apparantly hits a peak, I'm sure your fine huni. I know I am more nervous this time round too.

Welcome to the thread rosebud totally know how you feel, at the moment I have a love affair with my couch lol

kapars I feel shattered all the time, even going to the shops knackers me, roll on the 2nd trimester lol I havent been sick but was constantly feeling sick till I got the bands.

viksam How did you get on with the docs? did they check your thyriod levels?

heres to the tiredness and morning sickness buggering off!!! xxx

blackcurrants · 12/12/2009 18:00

Hello everyone! I'm 8 weeks preg today, and it's nearly 1pm on a saturday and I'm still in my jammes on the sofa! DH is being very patient with me falling asleep on the sette, being exhausted, and feeling sick... plus, he's just done four loads of washing, so I feel pretty spoiled!

Had a miscarriage in August at five weeks, so every saturday when I get to the start of a new week I feel a little bit more relieved. Am swinging between being completely excited and utterly unprepared.

Also, I live in America and have for the last 4 years (was brought up in North Yorkshire & DH is from Huddersfield!). Being preg over here has made me terribly homesick for everything British (and my mum) - so I hope I can dive in!
Currently loving ALL food (after not wanting to eat anything for the past two weeks except half-slices of toast and peanut butter, with orange juice), and stealing DH's when he's not looking!

Here's to a sound, healthy and easy 7 months for us all!

stac14 · 13/12/2009 10:04

hi blackcurrants welcome to the thread. I second the hope for an easy 7 months. Its strange the way we swing from one extreme to another lol. My emotions are everywhere, crying at xfactor to being a grumpy witch. Just want to sleep lol. Is anyone else at the toilet 20 times a night? Thought it was meant to be after the baby is born you get sleepless nights haha x

blackcurrants · 13/12/2009 14:05

oh totally! The first thing that made me think "ooh, did I conceive?" was the fact that I couldn't sleep through the night without needing to pee - and because I was at a party last night (drinking hot mulled apple juice, yum!) I had to pee TWICE in the night. I dunno how DH sleeps through it, I really don't!

It's 9am over here and (thanks to this thread) I really want to eat some salt and vinegar crisps! They don't do square crisps over here, so perhaps I'll get myself down to the shop and get a biiiig bag of kettle chips....

stac14 · 13/12/2009 14:45

totally addicted to kettle chips, sea salt and balsamic vinegar yay lol. Do you plan on coming back to the uk for the birth or is your mum coming to you? X

blackcurrants · 13/12/2009 16:11

mmmn salt! Have had one piece of eggybread (ahem, "French Toast", as they say over here) and it was so good I'm about to make another. I keep swinging between being v.queasy (haven't puked) and completely ravenous! Will be total heifer by July!

I think my Mum will come over here - we looked into coming back to the UK because medical care is so expensive here (my v.gd insurance plan will only cover 80% of any hospitalisation bills - and most births in the nyc area cost around $12,000) - I REALLY miss the NHS! But because of DH's work and things like travelling with our dog being v. expensive, it actually works out cheaper to stay here and fork out for a birth than come home and get one for free.

My mum's great at travelling to see her grandkids, though - My sister lives in Kenya, so she's totally used to it.

kapars · 13/12/2009 17:40

Hi Blackcurrants welcome to the thread. I've recently moved back to UK from overseas so know what you mean about homesickness.
I actually woke with a burst of energy yesterday for the first time in weeks although didn't last long.
I'm up several times a night to pee which isn't fun!

blackcurrants · 13/12/2009 20:03

I could do with an energy burst - keep waiting for mine to kick in. And I need to go to the supermarket but it's chucking it down. Stupid emotional rollercoaster - the fact that it's chucking it down and DH is 'ignoring me' (by doing the ironing!!) is making me grumpy. I think I might need a nap... crazy preggo lady taking over!

dizzygirl25 · 13/12/2009 20:44

Hi ladies, hope your all ok tonight. Well im still feeling perfectly normal, i keep waking up expecting to chuck my guts up but i honestly feel fab. Can 't quite believe that i'm getting away with no sickness so it makes me think that i'm bound to have a really rubbish time later. Thank god i ve passed the bad wind stage, i honestly though the other half was gonna sod off at one stage, he kept sending me out the room!!! lol, Blackcurrants can t quite believe your grumpy when the other halfs doing the ironing, mine wouldn't know what the iron looks like!! I keep having mad energy boosts and can't stop cleaning, i keep going into a frenzy with it and yell if the other half so much as leaves a crumb on the chopping board. Im 11 weeks now and am really looking forward to seeing my scan on the 21st, it still does'nt quite seem real as i feel so normal. I can t stop wanting to pee on a stick every morning to check that its still real!!

stac14 · 14/12/2009 09:27

dizzygirl I am so jealous, I am absolutely shattered lol. I have done a few pg tests since getting the positive one, stopped wanting to do them when I got my scan. Have you had one yet?
blackcurrants My dp is being really good at home too but sometimes he is saying silly things that are annoying me. Like last week he said I was looking plump, I nearly brained him lol.
kapars the night time peeing is a nightmare. How have you been feeling? Is your hip any better? I have been having the same thing it felt like a stitch but sorer

viksam, del & buckler hows things your end? All good I hope
