westlondongirl · 19/11/2009 11:37

Had hypermemisis for 7 weeks and having a boy

MmeLindt · 19/11/2009 11:38

sick till 14 weeks - girl

sick till 18 weeks - boy

Don't think that there is any truth in that one

duckyfuzz · 19/11/2009 11:39

no sickness at all, had twin girls, so I reckon its nonsense!

Poledra · 19/11/2009 11:40

3 DDs, all singletons, no sickness at all (but constantly hungry instead!).

Pinkjenny · 19/11/2009 11:40

I've had:

Sick from 7 to 11 weeks - girl
Sick from 6 to 22 weeks - boy

Load of codswallop, ime.

girlylala0807 · 19/11/2009 11:41

I had a boy.

I also had 26 weeks of 24 hour a day sickness.

yesway · 19/11/2009 11:42

cool - that's what I wanted to hear. (Not that I wouldn't love another girl - just that I don't want to know yet).

Naturally am nervous about 4 but not as nervous as I was about 1 or 2 or 3!

ds - mild MS
dd - vomited a lot

bibbitybobbityhat · 19/11/2009 11:45

I had bad morning sickness both times. Infact, my pgs were almost identical. But I had a girl then a boy. So that rule didn't work for me.

KarenAdie · 19/11/2009 11:48

Not for me, my m/s was fairly mild (no vom, just nausea and loss of appetite at the start) and I'm having a girl

shinybaubles · 19/11/2009 12:11

Boy - sick for 8 months day and night
Pregnant 33 weeks with boy now and sick just for a few weeks and very mild.

WinkyWinkola · 19/11/2009 12:12

DS 1 - horribly sick from 5 weeks until week 14

DD - sick from 9 weeks until week 12

DS2 - very sick from the minute he was conceived (I swear it!) until week 16

MandaHugNKiss · 19/11/2009 12:28

Hmmm, I thought this theory held water as my personal experience was:

DD - constant soul-destroying nausea (althouh only threw up twice) for most of the pregnancy. I LOST two stone whilst pregnant (and didnt have it to lose!)

DS - One fleeting moment of 'hmm, I feel a bit sick' when on the bus.

But I'm currently 24 weeks with another DS and had pretty nasty nausea from 7-14 weeks.

That, along with everyone else's anecdotal evidence makes me think this is another 'old wives tale' that is poppycock!

Still, it's quite an intriguing mystery as to what causes it/why some pregnancies are worse than others, isn't it?

StealthPolarBear · 19/11/2009 12:33

sick - son
not sick - daughter

VanillaIce · 19/11/2009 12:39

Nausea and sickness until about 20 weeks. Still feel dodgy on waking (29 wks now) and I'm having a boy! First baby though so nothing to compare it too.

anonymous85 · 19/11/2009 12:51

Severe Acne - Girl

No reaction to skin whatsoever - Boy

No sickness - Girl

Sickness - Boy

anonymous85 · 19/11/2009 12:52

^^ Only have one DD and a DS on the way - not 4 kiddies!

Chickenshavenolips · 19/11/2009 12:56

Yes. I had two hyperemesis pregnancies, and have two sons.

biggernow · 19/11/2009 13:16

felt MUCH sicker with my DD than DS.

Docbunches · 19/11/2009 13:19

I think it probably is codswallop, even though I felt quite sick until week 12 with DS and very sick until week 16 with DD.

littlemissm · 19/11/2009 13:36

i have gone on my sickness to tell the sex for all my pregnancies & have been right on all of them DD1 really sick DS1 felt sick DD2 really sick DD'S3&4(TWINS) really sick dd5 really sick i do believe that with girls you are more prone to sickness i was told by a mw that this is usually the case as with girls your hcg levels are higher?

Abubu · 19/11/2009 13:51

Twin girls - a tiny bit queasy for 2 weeks, hardly noticeable
Preg no 2 - slightly more queasy for longer but dont know what I'm having yet.

I reckon its a load of old rubbish.
All to do with how your body reacts to hormone changes.

yesway · 19/11/2009 17:22

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll just wait and see.
