TRIPLETS!!!

Had my 12 week scan today and there are indeed 3 babies there. Two identical and one not. Am in total shock.
I'd been feeling pretty lousy but not really worse than other people I know. I don't even have much of a bump. I already have a DD so I'm going to be Mum to 4 under 2!
Holy cow...

Anyone else had triplets???

and Congratulations!

CONGRATS. What a shock. I was shocked at having twins but triplets! How lucky are you? Im sure that you'll obviously be woried about how you will cope, but im sure everything will be fine, and you'll be blessed with such a fun household...

try www.twinsclub.co.uk - i found this site invaluable. there are some triplet mums on the forums there too.

pixiestix · 15/11/2009 14:24

Wow! Thats fantastic. Big congrats!

ElizabethWakefield · 15/11/2009 14:44

Congratulations!!

My friend had triplets last year, they are just coming up to their first birthday now, hard work, but lovely!

cutekids · 15/11/2009 14:46

3 under 3 was difficult enough mind!!!

coolma · 15/11/2009 14:48

wow! How old are you? Not nosey I hope just that 'older' women are more likely aren't they? Many congrats too!!

sheeplikessleep · 15/11/2009 14:49

Congratulations, that's wonderful news!
Blimey, what are the chances of having 2 identical and one not identical triplets? You'll be fine

Saucepanman · 15/11/2009 14:58

NO WAY!!

Congratulations, I am due around the same time as you but with just the one (already have 2 dc)

I recommend the book "Extreme Motherhood: The Triplet Diaries" by Jackie Clunes, it is very funny and hopefully will help you in some small way

Poohbearsmom · 15/11/2009 15:21

huge congrats thats amazing mega shock think i might have fainted myself... I had two boys within 19months&found it tough so no doubt it will be alot of work, but so so so worth it when they are all running around playing with eachother one day & every other day in between too

sweetkitty · 15/11/2009 15:25

congratulations 3 babies lucky you

Mishy1234 · 15/11/2009 15:50

Fantastic, congratulations!

4 under 2 will be a lot of work, BUT you will cope and just think how amazing it will be seeing them all grow up together. I've also heard that multiples start to entertain eachother when they're toddlers, making it easier for you to get things done!

chubbychipmonk · 15/11/2009 15:55

Triple the blessing! Congratulations!!

Saucepanman · 15/11/2009 16:09

Oh meant to say, when the author had her triplets she also had 4 under 2

ladyandthechocolate · 16/11/2009 09:55

Thanks for all the congrats and the links too. I'm 28 btw. I'm going to get busy and start contacting organisations for advice etc.
DH is veering wildly between excitement and sheer panic. It's the financial implications that worry him (and me) most of all. All of a sudden our whole 'plan' is out the window and it's just frightening to think that I won't get change out of £100 when I buy shoes for the children!

Saying that, I am happy - I know if something went wrong that I'd be devastated and if I could change things I don't think I would.
But still - my body is going to be very unenviable after this (not that it's my main concern but I think my bikini days are gone).

what a lovely surprise - am sure it will be hard work (like OBVIOUSLY ) but that's really heart warming - 4 very close siblings!

look after yourself x

Bonsoir · 16/11/2009 10:28

Congratulations!

MmeLindt · 17/11/2009 14:47

How are you doing? Have you gotten over the shock yet?

HuwEdwards · 17/11/2009 14:51

Oh lovely!! HARD HARD work I'm sure, but lovely

me23 · 17/11/2009 14:55

Wow congratulations! Good luck

PanicMode · 17/11/2009 15:19

Wow - fabulous news, although I can understand feeling a bit overwhelmed!!

I had 3 under 3 for a bit and I will have 4 under 6 for about two weeks when this one is born. I had a 15 month gap between the first two and it was hard work but so much fun and it's really paid off later.

As everyone told me when I told them about our rather surprise addition - "the biggest families are the happiest"....and even if that's a load of nonsense I am happy to keep looking at the positives!

Sidge · 17/11/2009 15:35

Oh how lovely!
