Is there a place for this? Who is considering a home birth/has had one/hated it/loved it.. come and share your stories with me.

My GP freaked when I requested it, agreed though and then proceeded to blame all the paperwork on the fact that I was having a homebirth (same paperwork had to be sent to midwives either way...)

Also any other good books other than Ina May's two?

Hey, I have a question for people who have had homebirths - was your DP present for the 36 week home visit with the MW? I can't get my MW to nail down a time that works for all of us. (Basically, if he asks for one morning off, they don't give him any work for the whole week, which would be a big loss of income, so I am trying to get her to come when he isn't scheduled to work.)

I'm going to be really disappointed if he can't be there while we discuss the birth plan, and he has a lot of questions for her, too. It may just work out in the end but, if not - how big of a deal is it for him to miss it?
