ive been having a show every day now since i had my sweep tuesday, all day for 5 days, lots of mucus with blood steaks the odd twinge, is it normal to have this much of a show its not clear, a kind of snotty colour sorry for the details lol.

holliejobber · 06/09/2009 15:41

Loganberry. When my waters broke with my 3rd they were exactly like you are describing as your show. It didn't go on for days as i was already in labour when they broke. But at first there wasn't much there but it was definately like snot! Is it worth ringing labour ward?

hat would you suggest to get things moving

loganberry12 · 06/09/2009 16:14

holliejobber i dont think its my waters im sure it is a show its not watery or running constently, just gooey all the time.

MrsFrin · 07/09/2009 10:08

Also fed up, 40 +4 but really thought this one (2nd was coming early) aren't second babies meant to come sooner? DS was only 40+2. Booked for a sweep tomorrow, going for a long walk to music grou now to speed things along!

lupa · 07/09/2009 10:27

Meh, nothing happening here. Starting to get a bit worried about induction - all a bit confusing as I don't really know whether I'm overdue or not. How accurate are scan dates really? Think I'm having a membrane sweep on Wed but not too keen on that either... ho hum.

AwayWithTheFaries · 07/09/2009 11:03

well im 40+9 today had another sweep today midwife said cervix it soft so hopefully thing will get moving very soon!
i dont want to be induced on thursday!!

holliejobber · 07/09/2009 11:30

Just had a sweep here too. Am 40+9 also. Cervix still quite closed, she could only get her finger tip in! I have declined an induction for thursday, but am booked into assessment unit for friday for some extra monitering. Why do i always get my hopes up that the midwife is going to say, ' oh your nearly fully dialated' well not quite but im always disappointed after a stretch and sweep.

Nothing happening here either. SO uncomfortable, baby feels very low, plenty of BHs, and two false alarms...

My poor toddler is getting bored - I have no energy to do much with her. Bathtime, even changing her nappy, leaves me out of breath/cramping. I'm getting so impatient!

holliejobber · 07/09/2009 18:19

How far along are you now Naturelover? I feel sorry for my poor children too. My eldest actually said to me 'can this be the last baby mummy'

OP posts:
naturelover · 07/09/2009 18:23

I'm 40+2 according to LMP but only 39+2 according to scan. Really I should just try to be patient. How about you?

blinder · 07/09/2009 18:25

40+3 here but feels SO much later.

BH every 15 or so minutes for three days. But nothing much else to report.

Do I really have to have sex? Can't I wait until Christmas? I feel about as slinky as a hippopotamus.

holliejobber · 07/09/2009 21:04

I am 40+9. I know what you mean about the sex, everyone keeps suggesting it but i can hardly open my legs thanks to spd! I think one of the worst things about being late is that it suddenly becomes less about the baby and more about going into labour, if that makes sense.

oh Hollie - at this stage, it's ALL about the labour

And I have 2 words for you - Turkey Baster

I'm not overdue anymore! Ds3 was born in the pool at home in the early hours of Monday morning.

I had a trickle of waters and some tightenings just before midnight on Sunday, then lots more water and a show about 40 mins later. Midwife arrived no long after. I stayed upstairs resting between contractions until 2.30am ish. Got in the pool just before 3am. Ds3 arrived at 3.30am.

I had some very nice reflexology two days before he arrived, but Sunday was the first day I felt ready. My parents had arrived, i'd even managed to shave my legs! Then when everyone was tucked up in bed bingo!

Good luck to all those still waiting, I totally sympathise this is the first time my body has done what i wanted it to -without sweeps and endless worrying!

blinder · 08/09/2009 16:11

I want a birth like liger's please!

Congratulations on the birth of your son!

lupa · 08/09/2009 17:27

Wow, congrats liger!

naturelover · 08/09/2009 17:34

Congratulations Liger! I want a birth like that!

Nothing happening here though....

AwayWithTheFaries · 08/09/2009 21:07

hi im not over due anymore either!!! had my ds at 12.06pm today and he weighed a huge 9lbs!!! had a water birth a bit of gas and air it bloody hurt but we are home and im off to get some sleep will fill you in with the gorey details tomorrow!!! xxx

puffylovett · 08/09/2009 21:50

Congratulations both !

I want one like Ligers too please

I'm not yet at my due date, got just under a week to go but getting impatient now. Midwife is sending me for a scan on thursday, just to double check DC2 isn't breech as the heartbeat was quite high up today .

I shall be gutted if I don't get my home birth, we did a trial run with the pool on sunday and it was fantastic !

holliejobber · 08/09/2009 22:18

Well done ladies!! Sound like lovely births. I still have nothing to report, getting some bh and feel achey but had this before and nothing has come of it! Also the 'have you had your baby yet?' texts have dried up. Perhaps even more annoying that people have given up hope. 40+11 tomorrow. Only 10 more days untill i beat my previous record of 21 days over.

MrsFrin · 09/09/2009 08:50

Had a sweep yesterday morning (40+6 6today), lots of BH yesterday and thought something might be happening in the evening but went to bed and nothing. Am booked for induction next Wednesday but was planning a home birth, starting to get irrationally upset about the whole thing which I'm sure isn't helping!

lupa · 09/09/2009 12:53

Ooh congratulations AWTF!

Went for sweep today (40+9) but midwife couldn't do it as my cervix is closed. She said it's quite soft though, so that's something I s'pose. Booked for induction on Friday - not sure how I feel about this at all!

AwayWithTheFaries · 09/09/2009 16:12

thank you i have uploaded pics on my profile

blinder · 09/09/2009 16:31

sweep today (40+5). 1cm firm cervix, very posterior .

Also booked for a homebirth MrsFrin and not happy about the prospect of that being snatched away. Let's vow to beat the system.

Sent OH out to buy meat for a hot curry and prunes...
