Oh thank heavens for this thread! I am 41 weeks today with dc2 and OVER IT. Last week I didn't think my waddle could get any more pronounced but sure enough, it has. It's been particularly galling this time as EVERYONE was convinced I'd be early and like most of you I'm very sick of the curry/pineapple/sex advice. I may well give the reflexology thing a go as if anything this pregnancy has been devoid of personal pampering and frankly, right now it's all about me! Great to have somewhere to moan...dd in childcare today so may just go to bed and lurk on MN all day! A final note - hands up who's ready to burn their maternity clothes?? I may put mine in a rocket and blast them into space I never want to see them again!!!

Mimile · 02/09/2009 11:44

41+1 today
induction brought forward to the WE
why me? why me?? all my friends popped nicely at 38 to 39 weeks, and I'm left with my last-minute stretchmarks, my trapped nerves and the promess of a synthocin drip for the WE...
Hope the full moon will do the trick beforehand!

AliBean · 02/09/2009 11:46

Hi all, I'm 39 weeks today and am ready for this baby to arrive... I have been praying all weekend for him to stay comfy as had a bit of a saga with the birthing pool and also guests who refused to take me seriously when I told them if I went into labour they would have to go home...they said " oh don't worry we will keep out of your way, we will go for a walk on the beach..." FGS...they probably would have got to John O'Groats before I was ready for them to come in again! Madness
Luckily everyone gone now, pool here and inflated and all nesting well underway (washed all lamp shades yesterday!)
How many others are planning home births apart from detoxdiva? Can we all hold hands?!

audreyraines · 02/09/2009 13:05

Hi, 39 weeks today as well and planning a homebirth. DS was born at 38 weeks so I'm feeling a bit ripped off at having to do at least a week extra in this pregnancy. Praying for the full mooon to bring on some baby action!

naturelover · 02/09/2009 13:11

Hi there, can I join? I'm 39.5 weeks and planning a homebirth too. Had DD at home two years ago although had to transfer with retained placenta afterwards. Am hoping to do the whole thing at home this time but have packed a bag in case, and arranged childcare for DD.

Had a few twinges last night, it scared DH into making sure the hose for the pool was handy! I now feel quite ready. This baby feels enormous, surely not much longer to wait?

blinder · 02/09/2009 15:41

homebirth planned here. pool-in-a-box stylee.

Just been for reflexology to encourage hormones and relaxation. felt great but nothing to report yet...

holliejobber · 02/09/2009 16:31

For gods sake!! Had midwife today. I am 40+4. She said my cervix are clamped shut which apparently is rare for a 4th child. I am in agony with spd and she didn't even help me onto table, told her i am unable to walk properly and am not coping with my other 3 children due to me being in pain and she said that they wont consider me for induction earlier than next thurs. I am so cross as when i was last pregnant i went 21days over as i was so against induction and it seemed like all they wanted me to do was be induced. And now when im desperate for it they are refusing. Ahhh i needed a rant.

I'm only 38 + 4 but scan at 36 weeks showed baby was over 8lbs and I'm feeling vast. The piles and the stretch marks are just not fun.
I had a reflexology session yesterday - doesn't seem to have encouraged baby but I did have the best nights sleep that I've had for weeks - so I'd recommend it for that alone.

Flumpwoman · 02/09/2009 16:53

Hello,

I'm 41 weeks today. Just been to MW for sweep... ouch. She said the head wasn't even engaged so she didn't want to even perform the S&S but I'm desperate for something to happen!

Also planning homebirth. Pool inflated, plastic sheeting all down, looks like we're about to commit a grisly crime... I'm now booked for induction next Tues night so hoping something happens soon....

Good luck ladies.
xx

holliejobber · 02/09/2009 17:56

Ahhh bless you flumpwomen! Its awful to have everything set up like that just looking at you. Do you definately want to be induced?

OP posts:
detoxdiva · 02/09/2009 20:06

Ah Flumpwoman - I know what you mean...our pool has been up for a week and there's plastic sheeting everywhere!

Lots of homebirths planned - I hope we all get the births we want

baskingseals · 02/09/2009 20:53

Hi guys, just wanted to say that where you are now, I was just 2 short weeks ago. I was a week overdue with DC3, and the birth was by FAR the quickest and easiest of the three. The other two were both early, so I was waiting from about 36 weeks. Really feel for you and wishing you all lots of luck.

fidelma · 03/09/2009 05:25

Can I join I am only 35+2 weeks with number 4 and hoping for it not too be late.however the other 3 have all been late, so not much hope. They induced me at 40 +7 last time as I was looking pretty big DS was 10lb so it really was time to come out.Last Fri the mw said that this baby was at least 6-7lb so looks like another big one.hollijobberyou wont be much longer and your lo will definatly be here before me.So good luck all of you.Oh did I mention Curry, sex, pineapple and nipple stimulation !!!!!!!LOL

puffylovett · 03/09/2009 09:02

Hi there, me too - I never joined an ante natal thread so this is good

38+3 today but feeling 40+. Although I think dates are slightly inaccurate.

Another home birth planned over here, didn't get mine with DS as I went 18 days over, (inaccurate dates again ) so this time I'm really really hoping DC arrives 'on time'. I'm soooo uncomfortable this time around, head engaged 4/5 last week and feels like I have a watermelon shoved up my fanjo. Heartburn at night keeping me awake, peeing and pooing for england and desperately want to go out and buy some new clothes ! Fed up with my mat wear too

Hollie I hope you get your birth soon, you sound really fed up...

breakingnews · 03/09/2009 09:03

holliejobber · 03/09/2009 09:12

Breakingnews - hope this is it for you....all the best, hope it goes well.

AwayWithTheFaries · 03/09/2009 09:51

fingers crossed for you breaking for a quick and smooth labour xxxx

lupa · 03/09/2009 10:09

Best of luck Breakingnews! Keep us updated!

Saw midwife yesterday - she asked how long baby's head had been engaged and then wrote 2/5 in my notes, so a bit confused. Really achey hips at night, so something seems to be happening.

mummy2t · 03/09/2009 10:35

good luck breaking news, hope it wont be long!!
lupa, i am also 2/5s engaged whih means they can only feel 2/5's of head and that 3/5's of head is engaged. beware tho that with second plus pregnancies head can pop in and bacout of engagement although with u been "due" i wouldnt have thought it would. exciting!!

lupa · 03/09/2009 10:44

This is my first, so hopefully only progress from now on! Don't want baby to arrive before Sunday though as my usual midwife is on holiday, but not too keen on having a sweep next Wed either. Baby, any chance you could arrive on Monday morning?

MrsDmamee · 03/09/2009 10:48

oh the whole "any news yet?" texts.....i wanted Dh to answer them all with if there was any news you wouldnt have to text !!!!(so F OFF)
But he was too afraid so we just ignored them..like FFS sake i only went 3 and 1/2 days overdue!!!(went into labour 40+3 during the night)

good luck to all you new mommies to be!! fingers crossed all the bundles arrive soon

mummy2t · 03/09/2009 10:54

ahh if its your first lupa, there is only one way that head is going!! Hoping for monday morning for you!!

mummy2t · 03/09/2009 10:59

i have just checked ad 2moro is defo a full moon!!!

zgaze · 03/09/2009 13:06

I'm going to join this one - 40 weeks today, no signs of anything happening at all, baby is only 4/5 engaged...I'm the size of a whale, I'm cold because all my maternity clothes are summer ones and the only things I have that even come close to fitting me now are my £5 leggings from Sainsburys. How funny that only a week or so ago I was worrying that I had loved being pregnant so much that I would miss it when it was over.
Planning a HB and am all set up - just want to go into labour so I can use the bloody pool! arrrgghhh!
