tee OH FAB xxxxxxxx That's made my day...I'm thrilled and I'm SO pleased that docs, nurses, SS all clearly feel confident to recognise a common accident when they see it. Blimey, if I had any vino in the house I'd have a glass for you guys and a b'day toast for jw

jw LOVING those candles! I do miss my jaunts to Urban Outfitters...MMmm, I'm feeling a foray into the smoke coming on soon - I need to reaquaint myself with it.

erm now there in lies a question....what DO I want to do??? Journalism is pretty much out - too much effort very little reward. I enjoy copywriting but part time gigs are scarce. I'd really like to go and start my Garden design course at Chelsea ....I love design...got a degree in the blinkin subject!....and am passionate about plants. Don't know what I'd do work-wise but I feel as though I need to learn - get excited about something again!

OK - just checked my bank account Tax credits have clearly gone bonkers...I mean REALLY, REALLY gone bonkers....there is enough there to keep a small country going Clearly a mistake but am going to bank it and then tell them about it - might as well get the interest Honestly, call this prudent....it's madness!!!

mrsboogie · 06/07/2009 19:38

evening all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JW!!!Sorry haven't been on sooner to with you many happy returns but I try not to post at work. Sorry your DH was a bit shite on the pressie front- it's not petulant to get the hump either - its not much the absence of a pressie as the impression of lack of consideration it imparts - I felt the same on Mother's Day nd DP has not been allowed to forget it ..

Mr D has a cold and has passed it to his daddy so both were at home today.

tee so glad A is back with you and hopefully none the worse for his adventures and that you will not get any hassle from SS. I'm sure the state you were in at A and E left them in no doubt it was an accident.

D has a new game of his own invention which is to drag himself to standing and throw himself to the ground and get caught by mummy or daddy before he hits the ground. Its hilarious won't be so hilarious the first time he does it when one of us is not behind him...

jj there's no way I could be a SAHM. I am too rubbish - would be sat ll day on MN while the child amused itself. It fills me with guilt of course and I often think that if anything ever happened to him I would bitterly regret all the time I spent away from him. But he is very boisterous and enjoys nursery and seems to love being around other kids.

I went into the nursery the other day and a little 4 yr old girl was reading him a story and asking him questions about it and he was sat there rapt. Very sweet.

iris coooeee? you still there?

mrsboogie · 06/07/2009 19:44

sorry 'bout the typos - crumbs under the keyboard...

hedgepig · 06/07/2009 20:35

tee it is splendid he is home, hope you have a nice cuddle and relax.

Heron I had a mirena seems fine, although doesn't get much use at the moment, IYSWIM. Its got a bit of progesterone in it, so it can lighten you periods. Mine are lighter but seem to go on for longer which is a bit strange. I do think a young child is one of the best forms of contraception however

I have to share this gushy mummy moment. We have moved Bs bedroom into what was our spare room so he has some more space and we cah put some of his toys up there. So I have moved all his car upstairs today, he asks
"Mummy can I play in my room?"
Yes I say.
"Can I tip all the cars out onto the floor ?" yes I say
"woppee" he says. He was so excited! It was really sweet.

MrsB I do seem to be spending a lot of my maternity leave on MN while O amuses himself , I think it's time to get back to work

FloriaTosca · 06/07/2009 21:48

tee thrilled to bits A is home and the SS will not be calling. Such a relief. And I hope the ribs are ok too.

Hedgepig AAAhhh the little sweetie!

JJ Well done Iris!

Iris are you labouring as I write?

mrsboogie · 06/07/2009 22:21

Oh it would seem like the bouncing might have had the desired affect...

/waits

hedgepig · 07/07/2009 06:28

morning, any news Iris????

johnworf · 07/07/2009 06:38

Morning all.

Looks like iris has only bloody well gone and done it and had her baby - just for me - yesterday I'm only assuming she has as I've not seen her post for ages.

Having a super downpour here. Nice for the garden. I read somewhere that the nice weather has now come to an end.......I'm trying hard to disguise my glee

Having a few problems with DSS at the mo. He's been hiding homdework and lying about other things. Also, his school report made some remark about inappropriate comments made in class to get attention. I'm going to see his teacher today and find out what is going on. DH just keeps saying 'he has Aspergers' as though his behaviour is totally excusable

tee did A have a good night?

OP posts:
dawntigga · 07/07/2009 07:22

tee am ever so glad he's home - now actually get some sleep!

InSevereNeedOfSleepAsAllMumsAreButNotAsBadlyNeededAsTeeTiggaxx

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2009 08:31

Morning all. Oh the joys of cooler weather!

iris COOOO eeeeee! Have you avoided induction my dear? And no sign on FB either...rubs chin in thoughtjw Good luck with the school - lick that lad into shape! After my mucho reading on various types of spectrum disorders it seems to me that Aspergers is the most able of them all to respond to understanding what is and isn't appropriate, due to the fact that there is a high IQ. Sounds like you're on the case.

hedgepig that's sooo cute I just let out an audible "Awwwww" !

mrsB I think D is going to be up and off very soon! Run D - RUN!! How is your week at work going? I've just remembered that you said it was a big one. Are you a member of Spooks - or maybe Gwen, from Torchwood?!

Blinkin love Torchwood....saddo I know. I can't hack the full- strength stuff like Star Trek or Dr Who...but Torchwood does it for me!

Tee2072 · 07/07/2009 09:38

Morning all.

A had a very unsettled night. Up twice, which is very unlike him. Also very noisy when asleep, not sure what that was about!! Now he's sound asleep again.

iris! Baby?!?!

JW good luck with the school. Sounds like DH has his head in the sand a bit.

hedgepig that is too cute!

JJ that was the best Torchwood last night. I hope they can keep it up over the next 4 nights. It has tons of promise, that's for sure!

heron22 · 07/07/2009 09:50

hedgepig did it hurt when the coil was put in? although i got 2 kids, both were planned c section so my cervix has never opened. would that make it harder to put the coil in? would i need a local?

johnworf · 07/07/2009 11:00

Saw DSS's teacher before school this morning. As I thought, he has been lying about the reading books he hasn't read. Teacher will speak to him today about it. She carries more influence than us mere mortal parents (a threat of telling a child's teacher is worse than saying the bogie man will get you...hint for future reference ).

Also spoke to her about the inappropriate behaviour. It's basically attention grabbing. Putting his hand up in class when teacher is talking and saying stupid things to get a laugh. She's already spoken to him about it but put it in his report so that it's on record.

I feel wiped out today. Had a long and hard evening telling DH exactly how it is and halfway through SiL rings to tell him to get his bloody finger out! I've had to tell him if things continue as they are, then I'm off. Btw this isn't about my b'day although that was the cherry on the cake for me. His behaviour of late is unnacceptable to me. Time will tell as they say.

Must go...floria is coming for her lunch with A Hope she likes jam butties

tw hedgepig you asked me about Motherease the other day?? Can't remember what. Sorry. Brain addled You said you got a couple to try didn't you? Are they going well? I used Airflow or Imse Vimse organic cotton soft wraps with them.

Spelling crap today. Apols.

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 07/07/2009 12:34

Crikey jw has DH been that bad I know blokes need a good spelling it out every now and again. DP has taken to talking to me like I'm an idiot recently - had a massive talk on Sunday eve....me not happy. I do wonder if it tends to happen when you become a SAHM?? Just that all my friends have spoken about the dynamics of their relationship going awry when you're no longer in the 'outside' world of work... Seems that once you enter back into 'grown up land' again you suddenly get respective

Good to hear you got to the bottom of DSS behaviour.

tee OMG - torchwood .... it's on all this week Thank goodness I just found out...or else I'd have missed it! Excellent!

iris????????????

heron22 · 07/07/2009 13:17

jw just read ur post. sounds like you had a tough talk with ur DH. was he receptive to your talk? hope things improve.

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2009 15:17

Tum, tee tum, tee tum, tee ta..*whistles to self..........hears sound of tumbleweed rolling across the MN plain

Blimey, it's quiet today.......*kicks heels and waddles off

Tee2072 · 07/07/2009 15:49

yawn just woke up from a lovely nap after a long morning of household chores. More to do, if little man stays asleep!

JW sorry your DH is being such a moron. What is it with men?

JJ yes it is on every night this week and that's the 3rd series. Little experiment they decided to do. So far, seems to be working!

mrsjupiter · 07/07/2009 16:01

Hi jj (and everyone), I'm here, the proverbial bad egg, holding the tumbleweed and a conciliatory plate of dim sum - the really really good stuff.

Have been catching up which is no mean feat (are you guys on speed or something, it's taken me days). Only now it's 11 pm here and I'm exhausted having made and frozen 48 meals for Eva. Would still be at it if it weren't for St Ping Ping of Cleaning.

If you don't move too fast will try to post coherent and relevant message(s)/response(s) tomorrow except have to say straight away, poor tee - can't imagine how scared you must have been. So happy all ok.

Feeling a bit low - no heartbeat at scan yesterday. Only 6.5 weeks but found it at 6 weeks with Eva. Monitoring me super-closely due to my "poor obstetric history" and a little spotting last week. The waiting is killing.

Please, whichever of you is posting about rioting Uighurs in northern China just stop it. Mumsnet blocked again. Have managed to get on via a VPN I've subscribed to but not sure how reliable that's going to be.

Later (I hope).

ermintrude13 · 07/07/2009 16:33

JW What pants men can be. I genuinely think that a DH who does actually love his wife to bits can still completely take her for granted and let a good thing slip away just by being a lazy arse. You are the engine room of that home, you meet with HIS DS's teacher because you care for and help your DSS and aren't prepared to just let 'he's got Asperger's' be the be-all and end-all of the lad's life, and you are a great mum to your older DCs despite having had a hell of a year with baby K. He should be counting his blessings and cherishing you - and realising that getting you a nice birthday present that's had some thought put into it - on your actual birthday - is hardly pushing the frickin' boat out. Oooohh, gimme 10 mins in a room with him; that'd make him realise how lucky he is .

Hope he thinks about what you've said and pulls his socks up.

hedgepig awww, how lovely for your DS to be so overjoyed at the prospect of tipping all his cars on the floor. I can see the appeal myself

mrsjupiter sorry you're having a worrying time. On this and other threads there have been quite a few women whose early scans didn't show a heartbeat which then appeared as if by magic at the next scan - it's all so tiny at the moment. Really hope you'll get some reassuring news soon xx

heron I'm with JJ on the coil. I have friends who swear by the mirena, although I hear it's always uncomfortable to have it fitted and may be more so if you've - umm - yes, I'll use that phrase again - if you've kept your honeymoon freshness . I have a friend with v heavy periods for whom it's really improved things. But it's not for me - drug-free childbirth x 3 no problemo; having a piece of metal in my uterus no way jose.

Why have I started writing in cod Spanish?

Hasta la vista ladies

Irish ooh, is it really happening?

johnworf · 07/07/2009 16:43

Hi ladies.

Thanks for your supportive (and comforting) words If he knows what is good for him then he will toe the line. If not then that is his choice. He's a grown man (in theory) and has to come to his own decisions. Think you might be right jj about the going out to work bit. That's not an option for me until at least next year though as I can't put K into a nursery until the next winter is over (it's more to do with mixing with other LO's and her catching things that could screw her chest up).

tee so glad that you are getting back into your own routine and that A is settled

mrsj I really hope that everything will be ok with your new LO. I shall be thinking of you Does the worry never end? ((hug))

mrsb are you letting the cat out of the bag today

Had a lovely afternoon with floria and A. Really enjoyed it. You must all pop round for lunch! It really perks me up

IRIS wherefore art thou????????

OP posts:
BonzoDoodah · 07/07/2009 17:25

Iris ???????????? Hope all's going well.

jw MrsB you're not are you????

Tee glad the boy is home safe! Now get some rest.

Duchesse - I'm due not due til the 25th but have the CS set for the 22nd. Finish work Friday - Hurrah!

Went to Aquanatal class today - wonderful wonderful! All that weight lifted by the water - bliss. And I had the funny sight of all those deliciously full bellies jiggling at the same time. Drat - off to collect M from nursery and hte heavens have opened. [grr]

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2009 18:19

Hello all. I survived dinner with the children of the dammed My two have had NO sleep today...just wouldn't - so now they're cranky as heck.

mrsJ good to hear from you again. Bless you, I can see that it must be very worrying. I've no experience myself - I was 8.5wks before I had a scan - but like erm said, I've read lots and lots of threads where nothing could be seen before 7.5 wks. Crossing everything for you xx

bonzo ah, I bet you lot of lovelies were an interesting sight - did you all empty the pool when you jumped in? Gosh - 22nd eeek! CLOSE!

HOLA! erm hahaha, weird Spanish influences...have you been eating paella?!

jw glad you had a lovley afternoon with the glamorous and talented floria Awww, if only we could pop over [too far south emoticon]

I'm not in any position to go back to work either - costs are just too prohibitive. Plus I feel as though I should be with Verity too - as I've spent all this time with Iris. I know it's a short time in the grand scheme of things - but bugger, at the moment it feels like forever!!

So - Torchwood for me tonight then and possibly a little bit of ped-egging and toe painting. Bit miffed as to why they've cut the number of episodes now it's on BBC1 - but then again who am I to question the powers that be at the beeb?!
