I know this is a silly question but I am pregnant for the second time and want to be able to refer to the bump/baby as something other than bump/baby. for the first one we called it blobby for the 9 months, it worked quite well but blobby was born with a heart defect and had open heart surgery when 7mths, so now I am paranoid about calling this one blobby in case the worst happens. All very silly really but wanted some help to call it something! Thanks

We've called ours chip - as in 'chip off the old block' - my brother calls me the chip factory.

bamik · 13/05/2005 16:55

I call mine 'Bubba' - no idea where I got that from!

ja9 · 13/05/2005 22:30

We called bump 'Josie'

This came from a mixture of our boys name 'Joel' and our girls name 'Rosie' which we had chosen quite early on.

BadHair · 13/05/2005 22:42

Both my bumps were called Bernard.

hub2dee · 13/05/2005 23:20

mogwai · 13/05/2005 23:28

I have friends who used to call their bump Henry/Henrietta!!
In the end they had a little girl and couldn't think of another name that suited! Totally unintentional, but Henrietta she is! Suits her down to the ground though, and what I once though a name I wasn't keen on, has become one I'm rather fond of!

Im now 38.5 weeks and we dont yet have a name. Everyone at work was calling the bump Fred which I thought was quite sweet really even tho no idea what sex.

Iwas called herbie as a bump. My sister was called oscar. When mum fell for number three dad thought he'd try a girl's name to see if number 3 would be a boy so my second sister was gertrude!. My three bumps were called cecil, horace and humphrey why I don't know!

nervousmum2be · 15/05/2005 22:50

Mine was 'Cell Cluster' until our dating scan at 10 weeks, as we had no idea how far advanced it was (sorry, i'm a nurse!), and now its just 'Bump' or 'Baba' depending on how the mood takes us!

LoubieLou04 · 15/05/2005 23:00

My sil calls hers picklet which I think is cute. My DD was always bean and as the bump got bigger people would say it's not a bean anymore, so I would say it's a human bean.
