so its a full moon on monday so my midwife tells me it should help bring labour on? anyone else heard this?

according to my midwife they take on more staff during full moons. My friend who has been told women will always see 9 full moons which may mean you're overdue or early depending on your dates? anyone else heard of this...i was overdue with my first two but didn't know about the moon thing. I'm due on friday! so it would be really good if there is some truth in it as I'm getting a bit fed up feeling like a beached whale!lol! Kinda makes sense as well based on the moon affecting the tides etc

I've just checked and come up with tomorrow??? Even better! Going to see if my other DC were born around a full moon.

When I had my DS it was a full moon apparently. The wards were groaning with too many women in labour. Fascinating stuff.

so tommorrow... can't beliebve it... so Reikizen, were you also told this by a midwife? And its really true about the moon on your bare skin? The neighbours will think I'm crazy .. but hey, if it works!

It will be there from 14:55 tomorrow afternoon, so we might not see it properly, but I will be out there anyway, feeling the shine!

My best friends mum is a MW and she swears there is something in the theory.

When I had DS2 the ward was very, very quiet and my MW told me that it had been a full moon 3 days before and there were women queing out of the door. I live in Edinburgh and they had to send women to Livingston, Stirling and Dundee to have their babies as they were beyond full.

It is a fascinating subject.

IIRC there is another peak in births at new moon, not as big as at full moon but still significant...

So we can bare our bumps in the day... how exciting... hpe its sunny... I thought you meant we've got to go out at night!thanks for link to moon I'll check it now... wish I'd known about this for my first two... anyone know how I can check their birthdays against full moons?

I went into labour around a full moon...ward was busy as well. Was also very overdue by that point.

slight change of subject to marne!... but Marni is one of our names for a girl! is it short for anything? I heard it on a tv show once and fell in love with the !

this link shows all the past moon phases...I can't believe it... my ds1 was born the day before the full moon... 11 days overdue and my dd1 was born on the new moon... must be something in it! Fingers crossed girls... I'm now going to check weather forcast to see how I'm fixed for bearing my belly tommorrow! How many of you are due this weeek? or are overdue?

Thanks for pointing all this out bernie - I'm all excited too! Was just beginning to think this one would never come out - there is hope!

I'm just going to wave my bare belly around in the garden tomorrow - whatever the weather!

Hey miss Tfied...At least there will be two of us potentially looking quite crazy tommorrow afternoon! It will make me smile knowing I'm not alone! In fact... I'll log in here at som point to make sure you did do it!! You'll be letting the side down if you back out ! how overdue are you?

Ooh this is getting me excited. I'm 5 days overdue now so here's hoping. What's this thing about bearing your belly though. We've got to walk around all day with our tummies out for it to work?!

it plays all moon songs... I just googled songs with moon in it!! Brill idea MissT Fied! I'm sure based on my first been overdue until the full moon showed up sounds like a good sign... actually when I think about it my periods were always around full moon.. good luck hun x any other gals joining us in our moon dance tommorrow!!?
