Im expecting ds no 2 on 24 May. I wanted baby to give ds1 (will be 2 and 10 mths) a prezzy but wasnt sure what to get, how much to spend, whether to make a big deal of it? Have any no 2 mums been thinking about this or do you have any ideas - eg what friends might have done? Im getting worried because my shopping ability is slowly declining - I just feel like hibernating for the next 4 weeks , under my duvet (sadly not possbile with ds1!!)

Oh, I'm so glad so many of these presents are cheap and cheerful. Daughter only had her birthday 2 weeks ago so not keen on having to use too much imagination in teh next few weeks.

we decided on getting dd1 a doll you could dress up in fancy dress clothing. We packed in the car so when she came to see us for the first time we gave it to her & told her it was from dd2 she loved it & can also still remember it & that was 2.5 years ago & she was only 3.

my eldest had been asking for baby annabell (dd1 was 8y 9mnths) i was due to have dd2 boxing day. we bought baby annabell and wrapped it in fancy paper with a bow and card reading to my big sis love from little sis. didn't have dd2 till new years eve, dd1 was dissapointed she didn't get annabell christmas day but her face lit up when we got back home after dd2 was born and she was given this fancy box to open. i won't be spending as much as that on either when ds1 is born i am just gonna get a couple of little things but wrap them fancy again.
