Tattifer I am so sorry to hear your news, and sending you my kindest & gentlest wishes.

You say you'll be back before Christmas so I say we'll have a cake here waiting for you (in the meantime have the rest!)

prettyfly1 · 07/04/2009 18:50

Hi Scarlotti - that is the case - this thread moves super quickly so I should have made that clearer - I am now five weeks by all accounts. My dp put up one of those photos from the nhs of the baby in the womb and I made him take it down. I saw our lo and it just reminded me too much of that. Like someone said I just dont feel I can commit to being happy about it - the pain of seeing it there all curled up with no heartbeat is just too raw. I wasnt intending on it this fast and I am just really, really scared. Some of the success stories on here are incredibly inspirational though and great to hear!

grace09 · 07/04/2009 19:22

Tattifer - i'm so sorry for your loss. I feel for you so much and hope you have lots of people around to support you and that you find the strength to try again when you're ready x

prettyfly1 · 07/04/2009 19:48

Tattifer - I dont know you but I do understand how it can feel -I am sorry you are going through this - good luck and hope to see you soon.

HerNameWasLola · 08/04/2009 08:36

Tattifer I was genuinely upset to hear your terrible news I know yours was an all too common post to have to make for those of us on this thread, especially in the early days, but I really thought you were with us for the long haul. It has been brilliant having you here, you've made me laugh more times than I can count, even on days when laughing seemed a remote possibility. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this again, it's devastating what false signals our bodies can send out to us. I hope that now you've had the erpc (if I've got that right) you can start to feel like you again. I found having 2 mc in a row a very scary experience, one felt like bad luck but 2... It took me a good 6-7 months to feel ready to try again, and now finally it looks like it might be third time lucky for us, I really hope you have the same experience - though not necessarily the waiting 6-7 months bit! Am impressed by all the Austen readers, but I have to admit, much as I love P&P, my post erpc read of choice was The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. Long enought to get lost in and with a few sad bits sprinkled in to give you the opportunity for a good cry if you need one. I hope your work and your DP continue to be as supportive as it sounds as though they have been, and I second the suggestion that a holiday is a damn fine idea! Sending you lots of love and strength and really hoping to see you back here soon. xx

Hi lovely ladies - great to catch up on everyone's news at last. I'm guessing grinningbee has a bubba now, but who was first...? Here, Maya Celine was born at home, 12.07 am, 1 April, weighing 8lb 4oz. The midwives were amazing, and despite needing a little cut to push her big head out of my small body, the birth was an amazing(ly painful, but also beautiful ) experience. She had her first settled night's sleep last night, so I am feeling like a good mummy today . It's such a rollercoaster, every minute is either triumph or despair, but she is always gorgeous. Pics on my profile.

Tamlin ? so so happy for your that baby is OK. I skimmed the thread and your very witty door story really made me . Your concerns are completely natural and understandable ? and statistics are a blessing and a curse sometimes, aren?t they, because it?s so easy to end up thinking that someone has to be in the 2% - but the odds are so much in your favour ? try to hold that thought as much as you can.

Crunchie ? what can I say ? so for you. You have done all the right things for your DH to get help, and he is resisting with all his might. That letter from your DS must have broken your heart, but you are a fantastic mum and whatever you decide to do now I?m sure it will be the right thing. I second scotlass?s comments ? wise words.

sussexoldspot ? Really good to see you back - congratulations on your BFP, that?s great news

Lola ? for your scan. GIRLS ROCK! Even though DH and I were convinced Maya would be a boy, we didn?t realise how much we both actually wanted a girl until we got one!

Tattifer ? so so sorry to see your news. Be good to yourself, and hope to see you back soon. x

love and sticky thoughts to all xx

Wills as I said to Tattifer, it's devastating what false signals our bodies can send out. The message seems to be that sickness and all the other symptoms might be a good sign, and bleeding might be a bad sign, unfortunaltey we really can't put it higher than that. I'm sure Tattifer's doctors will have done everything they felt necessary before letting her have an erpc. I'm surprised you've been told it can take up to 10-11 weeks to see a hb on an abdonimal scan. Certainly in all of my (3) pgs the thingymabob route () hasn't been used/necessary past 7 weeks, which is what my consultant said he would expect in most cases. Hoe far are you now? Hope the ms isn't getting you down too much.

Ashleigh check you out all positive and sh*t!!! (Charming, aren't I?! ) Congratulations on your graduation! (We ought to design some cards!) One of these days I hope to follow you up there - but not today How much/how often are you feeling movement now? I want to know when the occasional flutterings are replaced by daily kicks! Though then I'll probably find something else to worry about....

Prettyfly I'm sorry to hear what you've been through, I had a similar experience last time at 17.5 weeks, so I have some idea of what your induction will have been like Fingers crossed that things will turn out very differently for us both this time

Hobnob is there any chance you can have another scan about now? I know there's no way I could have waited from 7 to 11 weeks while staying sane, 2 weeks seemed to be my limit! The tenderest my tummy was early on was with my first pg which turned out to be a mmc - it's so hard, we all try not to put too much weight on symptoms or lack of symptoms, but we all do it! Take good care of yourself.

Sydney how you doing today lovely? Only a week to go now... Thinking of you

Hello to everyone else must get in the shower now...

sydneysuze · 08/04/2009 08:55

Yay! Congrats Daisyj

And what a lovely name ? Maya Celine sounds beautiful. Am just off to sneak a peak at your photos now......

HerNameWasLola · 08/04/2009 08:58

DAAAAAAIISSSYYYYYY!!!! (cross posts!) FANTASTIC NEWS!!! Maya is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad you got the hb you wanted! Am very impressed at you managing to post on here so eloquently already! Can't wait for all the (gorey) details when you have a minute (ha ha ) Am SO happy for you!! Now we just need to know who was first to pop, you or Grinningbee!!

sydneysuze · 08/04/2009 09:07

She's lovely Daisy, such a pretty baby - and you look great too! Well done you.

Lola I'm fine thanks - trying not too obsess tooooooooooooo much , have midwife this morning so that always helps. And off work for Easter now for a week so that helps too!

Wheelybug · 08/04/2009 09:07

Yay! Congrats Daisy on Maya - loely name and pics. Now i have a bit of insider info but I don't want to give too much away but you did beat grinning althouh not by much - hopefully she'll be here to share the news soon.

HerNameWasLola · 08/04/2009 10:05

Wheely TELL TELL TELL!!! Or at least ask Bee if you can tell! I can't stand the suspense!

scarlotti · 08/04/2009 10:44

Daisy what a gorgeous little girl!! You must be so proud congratulations! Has brought tears to my eyes - those hormones again!

GrinningBee congratuations to you too when you can make it on here to tell us - the suspense is awful!!
Wheely you are such a tease!

Tattifer hope you're bearing up hon, keeping you in my thoughts.

prettyfly it is scary to be pg again after a m/c. I had 2 back to back before falling pg again this time. I'm now 10 weeks but not really allowing myself to get into it at all. I go through the motions of blood tests etc. but that's as far as it goes. I hope that as it progresses things will get better. I presume it's my brain's defence mechanism (rather than me being a cold fish!) You're only 5 weeks behind me so we'll go through this journey together, virtual hand in hand

lal123 · 08/04/2009 11:36

tattifer - so sorry to hear your sad news - look after yourself petxxx

Scarlotti - I understnad exactly what you mean about just going through the motions. We allowed ourselves to think positively at the weekend and told DD that "mummy has a baby in her tummy" - she is so excited - so this had BETTER work out!!!!!

I'm feeling quite negative just now - was sick for first time last night, and in bed by 7.45 (!!!). Keep thinking that I'm having a mmc - just because my boobs aren't sore.

At the same time we've started telling a few more folk - hope we're doing the right thing!!!

ashleighbeee · 08/04/2009 12:00

Good Morning all you lovely ladies,

Firstly Lola I am loving your over use of all the new smileys!

Daisy How beautifully gorgeous is your new addition? Well done.. super duper I LOVE it when we have a new baby in the group..

wheely You naughty trixter teasing us all! I cannot wait to hear bees fabulous news too...

Crunch How are you feeling now? Hope you're feeling a bit better! How are things with DH? Hope he's been looking after poorly crunch...?

Lola check me out being all positive an' that! I think its probably because i feel him moving quite a bit now, first thing in the morning and then evening/night time.. I think i missed the fluttering stage, I may have mistaken this for wind etc he gives me a little rumble just below my belly button and then i have bubble effect feelings (which i can only assume is a massive wallop with great effort on his part)... Do you think we may end up in the great race like Daisy and Bee??? My EDD ws brought forward by 2 days, however i have a feeling I'll still be very pregnant into September!

Lal How far gone are you? Congratulations on telling DD.. I have a niece (i know not quite the same) who knows I have a baby boy in my 'tubby' (she is 3) and insists on stroking my 'tubby' and kissing 'him/my tubby' goodbye every time we leave.. They're lovely when they know, they want to look after the little one too.. I also didnt have sore boobs after about 6 weeks but i did have sickness which although was yukky i clung onto. Please take your sickness be positive and try not to worry too much about the sore boobs. In our position i know this can be hard.

scarlotti You are not a cold fish.. i laughed when i read that phrase. Perfectly normal for all of us in this boat... I think until we're in the 'graduate' position with baby in arms we cannot relax.

Well i have gone on and on today, I dont really have any news to report.. apart from MIL telling me yesterday that having an internal scan when on her period was horrific and going into detail about how i have probably never experienced such discomfort and embarrassment.. umm yes remember me the bearer of your miscarried grandchild etc.. I have had two thingymabob scans both because of BLEEDING IN PREGNANCY! managed to keep my calm though and simply responded with a 'siiigh i can imagine'.

Rant over, hope you all have lovely days and the sun is shining like it is here (famous last words) xx

herbaceous · 08/04/2009 12:16

Daisy! Maya is utterly lovely. With that amazing direct stare babies have. And you're annoyingly slim.

Cromwell seems to have moved into a new phase - I'm now nearly 29 weeks!!!!! ? and keeps shifting about under my ribs, and doing really quick batterings on both sides of the bump. I forsee a future as a drummer.

bunnyinheadlights · 08/04/2009 13:16

congrats daisyj!!! arent girls great?! maya is a lovely name. enjoy the little angel in your arms she is gorgeous!! you must be over the moon!! it makes me so happy to see another graduate of this thread!

lola yayyy another girl! . how exciting - now you can go out and pinkify the baby room?

sorry havent been here much at all - it's been so hectic with two underfoot (not that i am complaining). to all who are early on in their pg - stay with the thread and dont kick yourself for not accepting the pg. i didnt really believe it even when i was in theatre getting prepped for the c section! i only truly believed when carys was in my arms screaming her little lungs out. so basically spent the whole pg in denial and fear but i guess that's only natural given what some of us have ben through. sending you all sticky baby dust. x

scarlotti · 08/04/2009 13:38

A question to our graduates ... how long do you get to stay in hospital these days after giving birth? (presuming it's a natural birth with no complications)

With dd (14) I got the choice of up to 3 nights, and they took her to a nursery at sleep time. With ds (3) I got 1 night with no option of any more and he was with me all night.
Has it changed again?

lal123 · 08/04/2009 13:40

Ashleigh - I'm about 11+3 I think! Was due to have 12 week scan next week - but I'm on hols so have to wait til end of April.

ashleighbeee · 08/04/2009 14:54

Oh Yes LAL I remember now, please excuse my forgetfullness!

Trust them to organise a scan during the period you're away for - where you off to? I hope these next few weeks go quickly for you so that you can see your little one on the screen. Well done for telling DD and a few more people, as we all know on this thread, doing that is such a milestone in itself. x

cornflakegirl · 08/04/2009 15:29

daisy - congratulations on maya's arrival!

ash - I missed the fluttering stage too (am 21 weeks) - was too scared to get my hopes up by calling the flutters anything more than wind. Now that they're definite kicks, it all feels so much more real.

crunch - hope you feel better soon.

lal123 · 08/04/2009 15:40

off to see my Mum for a couple of days - shopping trip to Dublin planned to get stocked up on Maty clothes. I wore maty trousers to work yesterday - really comfy but the blessed things kept falling down - will leave it for a few more weeks!

Has anyone else found that they can order maty clothes in a size smaller than they'd normally wear? I carry a lot of my weight round my tummy - so a size smaller seems to fit better round my legs?

Cornflake girl - I can't wait til the kicks stage - I'm still at just wind!

prettyfly1 · 08/04/2009 15:45

oh thanks guys - so glad that I came hear - you lot are lovely - scarlotti consider your hand held . It is scary but I am glad I am not the only one feeling the way I do. Feel a bit more positive today but still not allowing myself to think of the future at all.

scarlotti · 08/04/2009 15:53

lal I bought some trousers in new look a few weeks ago as couldn't do mine up and managed to get a size lower than I would normally be - hoorah I say! Find that matty clothes in my normal size make my bum look huge!

Gentle · 08/04/2009 19:40

daisyj Huge congratulations on your little smasher! Well done marathon woman!
