Lola Looks like my gremlins are affecting the thread - sorry about that.

ashleigh hope you get your scan appointment soon. Things went terribly, but I'm not going to dwell on it all any more. I keep bursting into renditions of "Whatever will be, will be"

scarlotti definitely be sick on your co-worker. It's the only solution to all your problems

Tattifer I don't know what time your scan is, but I'm thinking of you and sending out good thoughts from way up North. We're here if you need us.

Gateau · 23/03/2009 15:12

Hi ladies,
I hope you are well and am thinking of Tattifer who is probably in the middle of her scan as I write this.
I thought I'd share my positive scan story with you all.
Well I had my nine week viability on Thurs. Asked for this because my last two pgs ended in mc,and was scared witless as my previous posts have testified! However all turned ourt really well; it was amazing.
I thought that if all went well we would see a heartbeat, but we saw much more than that. We saw our tiny baby - the head, tummy and weeny arms and legs; truly amazing.
Goes without saying that we are absolutely delighted, and a lot more positive. But of course, still cautious.
Hoping this positivity spreads!

Gateau · 23/03/2009 15:18

Scan confirmed I was 8 weeks, five days. (now nine weeks two days).
Was two days out.
Not sure how they work this out when I KNOW the dates of my last AF. But hey, who cares?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 23/03/2009 15:32

Gateau that is fantastic news My scan showed 8 weeks 4 days so I know exactly what you saw! The scan dates can differ slightly because although you know your AF everyone ovulates at different times - usually around days 14, but can be anything from day 8 to day 21 really Not that it makes a blind bit of difference really! I'm very happy for you

Hope the good news keeps coming x

Thanks crunch. How are you? Haven't read all the latest posts on here, as busy in work.
It was so so special to see our baby, particularly after my two mcs. It's almost surreal, though and like looking inside someone else's body.I often have to take a step back and think "That baby is INSIDE me right now." (I hope, if you knwo what I mean)
Now wondering whether to go for the nucahl translucency and blood tests. Waht did the rest of you do?
We didn't do them for our first baby.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 23/03/2009 16:02

Gateau I know exactly what you mean I only had blood tests, but I know others went for more. It's a very personal decision, there's no right or wrong answer (which is utterly useless in helping you make up your mind of course)

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 23/03/2009 16:03

Oh and I'm fine, it's been up and down, but I'm ok, really. Thanks for asking.

Just marking this so I can click threads I'm on. Am so happy - I'm on mat leave, finally, finally, finally.
have also got omeprazole for heelish heartburn so am very pleased for myself. Will catch up later after dinner. Is it only me that seems to be starving all the time?

And - OMG how did I end up being 3rd on the list

gateau - that's brilliant news about your scan

tattifer hope yours went well too

and crunch pat on the back - well done for starting the new thread

tattifer · 23/03/2009 18:49

Hi ladies thanks for all the good luck vibes.

Still a lady in waiting I'm afraid. Baby there, fetal pole or whatever there, no worried shake of head like last time. Consultant dated us at about 6 and a half weeks (I thought by my dates it was 7 and a half). Little worried by that because they said the little had died (?) at about six weeks. But, they may have been a whisper of a heartbeat - it was difficult to tell if it was movement cause by me or... and if 6 and a half is right then we would be right on the cusp of being to see a heartbeat anyway....

still waiting, still sick, still bloated, still sore boobed. I challenge someone to write a limerick about it!!!!

tattifer · 23/03/2009 18:50

"they said the little had died" the last time I miscarried

tattifer · 23/03/2009 18:51

little one -argh! typing skills gone to pot - sorry

sydneysuze · 23/03/2009 19:06

Hi Tattifer so congrats on your scan - a bean and a pole in the right spot and a tiny tiny heart beat at 6 and a half weeks is all good I reckon. Bit frustrating for you though I'm sure. So will they give you another scan at 8 weeks?

tattifer · 23/03/2009 19:11

Consultant suggested to move the nhs scan but to wait at least 10 days before next scan so that enough growth can take place to definitely spot a heartbeat (let's hope there'll be one). So hold off on the congrats but no news is good news?

Fozzie78 · 23/03/2009 20:21

Hi all, I love new threads, welldone Crunch, I hope things improve with your other half.

tattifer sending positive vibes and really hope things work out for you.

ashleigh I got my 20wk scan when I went to see my consultant, how disorganised is the NHS, its nearly april for goodness sake and us ladies need to plan ahead....... deary me.

Scotlass not long to go now, how exciting for you. Im so hungry all the time and I am only 17weeks (tomorrow) Ive never ate so much in my life.

gateau it is surreal and sometimes you cant believe theres a tiny baby growing and wriggling around all cute in your tummy? its an amazing feeling. I had the blood tests last week and fortunately I was low risk, its a personal choice but I see no harm in the blood tests then take it from there, we had already decided that was as far as we would go.
My dates were different too, at my early scan my dates should have been 7 + 4 and they said 7wks exactly at my 12 wk scan I should have been 11 + 2 and they gave me 11 plus 6, very strange but apparently they always change dates around.

Im 17wks tomorrow and go for my second midwife appointment, she promised she would listen to HB so Im so excited.

Take care everyone xx

sydneysuze · 23/03/2009 20:26

Well I'll keep quietly optimistic for you then Tattifer'sTraditionalOatcakes

Have had ridiculously over emotional day today myself, felt like bursting into tears about 5 or 6 times for no real reason whatsoever.... Must be a lack of chocolate getting me down?

Scotlass how lovely to be on Maternity Leave! Not long to go now..... Thanks for your very wise advice re size and Other People's Massive Gobs (OPMG). Must try to remember that when people react to pregnancy by using OPMG technique it is usually about them, not me. Also need to apply this to the next person who says 1. 'But you're not ill, you're just pregnant' (eg my boss), 2. 'But now you're pregnant again everything's all right isn't it' (meaning I should have got over losing my boy last year by now) or 3. 'You mustn't let being pregnant stop you living your life' (friends who can't understand why I don't want to go out dancing / to standing room only gigs / on adventure holidays)

tattifer · 23/03/2009 20:29

sydney ha ha, thank you. Yes you have to watch your chocolate levels...

I shall be going back to work on Wednesday (tomorrow would be a day off anyway) and I shall be on light duties (out of uniform, in the office). Earlier than I would liked - I was hoping to keep it secret for a while - but the uniform was getting rather tight in the middle!

Wheelybug · 23/03/2009 20:30

Hi All ! Found you.

Good news Gateau and positive vibes to you tattifer - hope the waitnig doesn't go too slowly (although suspect it will).

Crunch - don't think I've been on since your relate appt (or maybe I have - hmmm) - sorry things didn't work out. Glad you're having a more positive spell at the mo.

lola - I think you asked about my photos. Am having real trouble uploading them to MN but I have got one of both dds uploaded. Wanted another one just of dd2 but it won't load. I'll try again later/tomorrow and let you know if I manage it.

scotlass - enjoy your maternity leave !

sydneysuze · 23/03/2009 20:32

Have just ripped open packet of Belgian chocolate tiffin with teeth....I may be some time....

tattifer · 23/03/2009 20:41

sydney well I suppose we should be thankful that you're trying to get them out of the packaging at least

sydneysuze · 23/03/2009 20:51

barely

HerNameWasLola · 23/03/2009 21:45

Wheely gorgeous photo! Thank you for posting it! Am so impressed you're still finding time to post!

Ashleigh I think you me and Fozzie are all very close together? I'm 17+2 today, EDD 30th Aug, just not realy to join the list yet... maybe if/WHEN we all get to the 3rd trimester?!? What are your vital stats?

Sydney clearly you're being very precious and paranoid. I went ice skating, rock climbing and deep sea diving today. Tomorrow am going sky diving again as it's tuesday

Tattifer'sOatcakes sounds promising! glad you got to see a consultant too. Will be keeping everything crossed for another 10 days in that case, but sorry, am crap at limericks

Gateau great news

Scotlass Mat leave!! Enjoy! Careul with all that jumping up and down though, you may be graduating sooner than you expect

sydneysuze · 23/03/2009 21:51

Oh Wheely I just saw that photo too - gorgeous! Thank you for posting (and for inadvertently causing my 90th blubbing session of the day!)

Time for bed for me and my hormones I think - night ladies!

PS Lola meet you next week for heli-skiing?

HerNameWasLola · 23/03/2009 22:02

Sydney am going on Thursday actually, if you're free?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 24/03/2009 08:29

Lola I thought it was sky-diving on Thursday?

tattifer very normal to be a week out on dates even if you have a normal 28 day cycle (if your cycle's longer then it's expected), but bloody annoying not to be able to get a definite anything! Make sure light duties are light

Wheely very glad you're still posting

scotlass I keep looking at the list and realising that I will never be top (or if I am it's because I've gone overdue and am a very unhappy whale-hippo). Enjoy maternity leave - time to get nesting

Sydney it's very important to keep your folic acid and chocolate levels up in the first trimester.

Fozzie hope your appointment goes well today

Hello everyone I am today even if the sun has disapppeared and the wind is howling around the chimney pots.
