do you know if you're having a boy or a girl? I read somewhere you are more likely to conceive a girl.

Thanks

BaggyEyed · 07/03/2009 19:24

ahh like everything else it sounds like it's 50/50. I read something about ph being lower when bf which is ideal for girl!

I had boy, girl, girl, girl conceived during BF. Boy for the first pregnancy.

tribpot · 07/03/2009 19:30

My friend who conceived 3 months after having a boy, had another boy. She was bf (and took the MAP too - another story!)

littleducks · 07/03/2009 19:34

boy

LackaDAISYcal · 07/03/2009 19:38

I had a boy.

iwontbite · 07/03/2009 19:43

but ph is only one of many factors that could and I stress the could, make any difference to gender.

i would doubt very much that there is a significant differece

flimflammum · 07/03/2009 19:48

I had a girl, conceived when DS was 18 months and still bf.

Is it meant to be affected by the bf hormones?

But I think the sex is more likely to be affected by at what point in your cycle you did the deed, but sorry I can't remember which way round it is (sure someone else will). But something to do with male sperm lasting longer than female sperm, so if you had sex a few days before you ovulated, then it's more likely to be a boy, but if you had sex just after you ovulated, then more likely to be a girl. Is that right?

GreenMonkies · 07/03/2009 19:52

I had a girl too.

I also read somewhere that female embryos need less food to survive, and how more girls are born to mothers during famines or to women with nutrient absorbtion problems, like coeliac disease etc. I wonder if breastfeeding can have a similar effect?

jes74 · 07/03/2009 19:53
