Can braxton hicks be quite painful as well as just uncomfortable?

This is my second pg and the BH started earlier than they did when I was pg with DD. They have just been slightly uncomfortable. Today though for the last couple of hours I have been having regular BH and they are really quite painful, like actual period cramps, with back pain as well.
I am having to stop what I am doing and get my breathing in check to get through them.

Hi, I am feeling so much better, I am sore to say the least but the pain have stopped, I still get the BH but without pain

I saw my consultant yesterday and had another scan. He has changed my anti b's as I have had an allergic reaction to them and came out in a rash all over my arms.

I have back ache still and he took another water sample as he is worried that my UTI has gotten to my kidneys, I am not sure what that means now though TBH. I have a prescription for some different anti b's which I am picking up later today.

the scan was fine and she is moving all over now which makes me feel a little calmer IYSWIM.

I am seeing my consultant again in 2 weeks and having another scan to check things at 28 weeks. In the meantime he said to call the ward if I have any problems or worries.

Thank you all for your support and thoughts.
