The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

Scorps · 22/09/2009 16:02

I had a big gap between last sex and egg fertilising, according to the scan DH had been in Thailand for 5 days when i got pg

Chooster glad to hear a good strong BFP, are you still bleeding?

Honey - DH cheated on me, from March-August with a teenage (18/19) girl. He lied throughout my pregnancy, my worries of mc etc, to go and meet this girl. I saw texts from a number on an old phone (i dont knowwhat made me look at this phone, its been here for ages but i got curious one day totally randomly) from when he was sitting in Gatwick, did some sleuth work and busted him. She is very arrogant and denies knowing him, lol. I know she knows he was married (saw on FB), and that we are having dc4. I hate them both. I kicked DH out for a week, but he is back here now. I'm getting there, very slowly.

I'm 27 weeks this week and having naming crisis, between Lacey and Maisie. I have Reilly, Jamie and Millie already.

rainbowdays · 22/09/2009 18:32

Chooster - hope that your dh takes the news of a new pregnancy well. Pregnancies can be very different with different genders in my experience. My boy pregnancies were horrible with sickness, pre-term labour contractions and generally not wonderful, but my pregnancy with my daughter was wonderful, I really enjoyed it overall. So it could be that you are pregnant with a girl (would fit in with the super-sperm theory too!). I hope that your able to take time to think about it all.

LondonLottie - hope you are enjoying your shopping trip, will you be buying little pink things too?!

blimey-

chooster- I hope I can say congratulations- and that you are coming to terms with having another baby- hope that DH will be happy too. These things happen for a reason! I know- I have 2 'happy accidents'. Must say I also enjoyed PG with DD the most. No sickness etc. Although I wouldn't get your ideas too fixed on it being a girl!

scorps- you poor thing- that is really terrible. I really hope that you can work things out with DH- although I'm not sure that I could. Can't imagine how you must be feeling . BTW I prefer Maisie- gorgeous name. And i think Millie and Maisie is very cute together.

Had my 'official' interview today with my NCT tutor (who is lovely) all went really well and I just have to fill out some paperwork and then I can start properly on the course. It is a lot of self learning and motivation- so I need to crack on with it! Might have to look at putting Dex in nursery for a day a week so I can do some work . From Easter he can go to the playgroup at school- but that is quite a long way off (and will only be for a few hours). Not sure about cost of nursery though- might be too much- seeing as I am not actually earning any money (yet!).

fettle · 22/09/2009 19:58

Wow - Chooster!! I hope you sort things out in your own mind about everything and DH comes around to the idea. I have to admit that I had a little pang of when I read your post. You hear of so many happy accidents - I hope you both come to terms with it.

Scorps - good to hear from you. I hope you do work things out with DH, but it must be very hard to trust him again. I agree Maisie is gorgeous and would be my preferred option and goes very well with your other DC's names. Lacey reminds me of Cagney and Lacey (probably showing my age here!, but she was the dark, frumpy one from memory!!)

Honey - glad the interview went well. My friend is planning on doing it alongside working 14 hours a week - she too is a little daunted by the self-motivation to get going with it all. I have to sympathsise - I find it really hard to work in the evenings. I've ended up putting Toby in nursery for an extra half-day per week, so I have 1.5 days a week for working. But then I have to actually do practise sessions on people that I can't really do with children around and evenings are hard unless people are happy to come here.

Talking of which - I really have to get on. I'm almost finished my 2 case studies I need to hand in next week, so I'm determined to do that tonight!.

iamamummy · 23/09/2009 10:13

chooster - i dont know whether to congratulate you or not as not sure how you feel. i hope you and dh can have a long chat and come to terms with things. where are you going to go from here? doctors etc. thinking of u and we are all here if u need to talk things through x

scorps - i read your comments on facebook a while back and figured things between u and dh were not right, im so sorry to hear what an awful stupid thing he did to you and your children. he is a very lucky man to have u and to have a second chance. im not sure i could be so strong in your position. i hope things work out for you.

honey - yey on the interview, things are really starting to happen now!

fettle - belated happy birthday to toby! when did you start putting him in nursery? when ds turns 2 in feb i want to start him 1 morning a week in our local nursery but ppl keep telling me he is too young

all ok here, baby definately dropped and very uncomfortable now.

love 2 all x

Chooster · 23/09/2009 13:30

Thanks ladies! Nice to read your messages. Things are Ok here but no had a chance to tell Dh as he went out last night before DS1 was in bed so there wasn't a good time. I feel secretive but i dont want to blurt it out, but the longer it goes on the harder it is to find the words . Tonight though....

Scorps - really really sorry to hear about yout DH - what an idiot. Hopefully this is the wake up call he needs to appreciate what he has and not risk losing it all again. Hope you are managing OK - like the others I'd definately go for maisie - it goes so well with your other names. (And yes I remember Cagney and Lacey too fettle!!!)

Are you around your Due date now Iamamummy??? Must be in the next few days? How are you feeling about impending labour?

Good luck with all your work fettle!! Pleased you've got something to distract you from your eves without DH there .

By the way where is greedy lurking - last we heard from her she was wondering if pregnant after feeling a bit rough over a garlic bread...

Anyway, best go.... Its my big boys first long day at school and Theo will be awake soon.

Chooster · 23/09/2009 13:33

By the wya Iamamummy - I would say that Oscar will be at an ideal age for nursery - he will get so much out of it and get a chance to do some different activities with new people. also it will be great for you and DS2...

Scorps · 23/09/2009 13:33

Thankyou for symapthies I'm doing ok, never thought i could be so very hurt though. Feel very vulnerable.

Chooster - i have always ended up phoning DH to tell him i can never wait!

I don't know who Cagney and Lacey are....but we both love Maisie too, though still concerned about closeness to Millie in sound.

fettle · 23/09/2009 17:01

Yes where are you Greedy?

Chooster. Hope your chat with dh goes well. I'm sure it will be fine but Don't delay telling him any longer. Remember you said he was a bit disappointed when you thought your period had started?

Scorps. Cagney and lacey was a US drama about a female detective duo. Cagney was the blond fiesty single one. Lacey was the dowdy brunette married one! Can't remember what their first names were as these were their surnames. Anyway it was on in the 70s and 80s so dont suppose many younger people (or those with more taste in TV!!) will know about it! I had a sheltered childhood!!

Also loved Hart to Hart!! Anyone remember them?! Best go before I embarass myself anymore!

fettle · 23/09/2009 17:12

Iammummy. Nursery is an emotive subject which some people have strong views on it. I sent dd full time from 9 mths when I went back to work. She loved it! Toby I sent 1 day a wk at 9 mths as I needed time to myself to sort things out before going back to work and then to job hunt when I couldn't go back part time and now I need time to study. To be honest if I had family near by I'd get them to have him one day a wk as he's not seettling as well as dd did. But he is always loving it when I collect him!

Do what you feel is best for you. Oscar will be fine and as chooster said it will be gd time for you and baby. Trust me you'll need some breathing space at times!

honeyapple · 23/09/2009 20:10

i loved hart to hart ... now it is annoying me as can't remember name of butler bloke- or the dog...

chooster- hope the news goes well. thinking of you.

iam- i dont think oscar is too young for a nursery- you are only looking at short amount of time there anyway- will also be good for you with the new baby around. And if he really doesnt like it then you can stop- worth giving it a try- you'll need to put his name down soon as some nurseries have huge waiting lists.

scorps- I dont think you need worry about Maisie being too similar to Millie. If you like Lacey (although I am now just thinking of woman from the 80s cop show)- what about some other 'L' names.... Lottie, Layla, Leonie, Libby or Lydia? I think they are all lovely.

come back greedy!

fettle · 23/09/2009 21:51

Max was the butler and Freeway the dog!!!

I saw them filming at Tower Bridge once and I wrote to the hotel to try and get their autographs - how sad am I?!!! But they'd left by the time my letter got there

Ahh - the 1980's those were the days......!!!!!

seaside72 · 23/09/2009 22:07

honey - Max and Freeway !

Chooster -Wow - what a rollercoaster you are on - life eh! It has definitely thrown you are curve ball. But I hope it works out they way you want/is best - hope all is well with you news and DH. Like everyone is saying maybe this is a pink pregnancy as so diff to the others?

Scorps - so sorry you have been through the mill with DH What a tool - when you are pg too - such an awful time to have to deal with crap - you need to be taken care and made to feel safe and secure and he has failed you
Sending you a big hug x
Love the name Maisie btw - I also like Laney/Lainey along the Lacey lines iykwim!

Iammummy - I have Cassius down for Montessori next spring 2 mornings a week to start - but tbh I am sure he would be fine starting now and would send him if they would take him! Actually out of all my group locally C is one of only three who is not in a nursery/creche at all.

fettle - so know what you mean about single parents - I have been staying with my parents for the past 10 days and even though they are there to help (though they are not very hands on iykwim?) I still feel a real weight of responsibility for DS - and it is relentless. When I get back I have 4 days with DH then he is away for 2 weeks with work - nothing compared to what you are dealing with though.

Lottie - thanks for the Dhea advice - might give it a go next month. oooo - want to know what you bought on your shopping trip - I love to live/shop vicariously
Speaking of shopping can I just share my new favourite things for DS- they are Aden and Anais giant muslins - I LOVE them! Cassius has always slept with "mussies" like blankies/comforters and these are gorgeous. I am only sad I did not have them when he was littler as they would have been lovely for swaddling etc - broody?? moi??

Where is that Greedy?!

Gotta go - bed calls (it is an hour later here!)

seaside72 · 23/09/2009 22:07

arghh - fettle you are too quick for me!

honeyapple · 23/09/2009 22:14

ah yes- max and freeway- thank you!

rainbowdays · 24/09/2009 10:31

Good morning all!

I am a little sad today as my baby starts in creche today. My parents have left and dh finally got a couple of weeks work, so Jak has had to go into creche. But I took him for an hour on monday and wednesday and he absolutely loved it, did not miss me at all. So I am hopeful that it will be a positive experience for him mixing with other children of his own age.

Greedy - where are you?

Chooster - hope you got a chance to have a chat to your dh last night and that it went well.

Scorps - can't believe you don't know of cagney and lacey - it suddenly reminded me of how old I am !!!!

Iam - hope the discomfort is not too much with the baby dropping already, but more that it is a sign that things will get moving soon for you. looking forward to hearing your birth announcement.

Lottie - how did the shopping go?

fettle - the 1980's were great weren't they!

Seaside - how is the broodiness!

Lottie-

I swaddled in just regular cot blankets- the cotton ones with little holes. I wouldnt personally go with the wool ones as could be a pain to wash and might get too hot?

NO to wearing a hat indoors ever!

honeyapple · 24/09/2009 13:26

Just looked at the link to those swaddling blankets at the price- and you'd need double! Really wouldn't bother- little babies are sick all the time too- much easier and cheaper with plain blanket. Is a swaddling blanket in a special shape or something?? [blank face emoticon] I do have this feeling that so many companies want to flog new mums with so many things... and most of them don't even get used after the first go. It is very easy to swaddle in a regular square/ rectangle blanket.

rainbowdays · 24/09/2009 13:28

Lottie - ah the memories of the waddling and feeling aged and decrepid! But it is worth it in the end . On the swaddling front - the easiest thing to remember in terms of what the baby needs is that they need one extra thin layer to what you would do for sleeping in. I never bothered with hats beyond the first couple of days when they were sleeping indoors, even if they were winter babies, as I adjusted the heating in the house to be toasty warm. But with you having twins if they arrive early they may need some extra time with hats due to smaller premie babies having more difficulty in controlling there body temperatures. I used american "recieving blankets" as wraps, and then used a mothercare cellular blanket on top when mine were small, and moved onto sleeping bags when they got older. ds1 was a summer baby and so only had nappy and vest and was swaddled in the recieving blanket, my other two were winter babies and so had vest and babygros under the wrap and blanket (does that make sense? ) Anyway I got distracted there I really was just coming to say that the cardigan you have bought looks fabulous and really comfy looking!

OH MY GOD!!!!! didn't even realise i had been away so long and can't believe i have missed so much!

Chooster - you are first!!! wow, wow and double wow!!!! how fantastically exciting that you are pg!!!!!!!! can't believe it and am so so jealous! i think genuine happy accidents are fab and would love that to happen to me!!! you have swayed between being broody and being happy with 2 ever since you had theo so i think it's FAB news that you are pg! at least now you wont look back in 10 years time and think "what if". have you told dh yet? how lovely to have your own little secret while you get your head round it too. and i SO wish i knew you in real life cos i would love to have been a REAL part of this excitng and scarey time for you!

scorpio - sorry to hear that dh has been such an arse. did wonder what was going on from your fb comments. how are you two managing to sort it out? you are a very strong woman. and maisie is a lovely name (marcy gets called it all the time by dumb people!)

seaside - hellooooooooo girl! how goes the ttc? and where are you that you are an hour later? what have i missed?

honey - exciting about your NCT training. you will be so fab at that! i would love to do it, but know i would be completely hopeless cos i would have no sympathy for moaney old pg women and MY GOD are some pg women moaney!!! (saw one earlier as a patient an dshe was especially moaney so its fresh in my head!!)

lottie lottie lottie - have you thought of two pink names that go together yet?

fettle petal - hows it going without dh? your pics of toby's bday looked lovely and i saw the photo of dh on the table next to his presents!

I would love to come on here and announce that i too had a happy accident and was pg but unfortunately i cant!!! havent done a test or anything, but i realised the only reason that i had an odd period and a bit of milk was probably because i have just gone back on the pill! don't know how i could have forgotten that, but i had kind of convinced myself that i might be pg until i remembered ! how dense am i hey!
my little niece is just making me broodier all the time, and marcy is SO adorable that i can thelp but be broody! maybe in a couple of years honey we can both ttc together again? (on here, virtually, i mean...........obviously!.........otherwise that would just be a bit wierd!!)

better go. got stacks of stuff to do, and have become stupidly addicted to ebay...............buying and selling..........so need to see how i'm doing!!

hello to everyone i havent mentioned!

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/09/2009 16:29

ok, so now i feel really bad for getting so excited for you chooster if you aren't quite sure how you feel about being pg yet. sorry if i was insensitive, but (here i go again) lets face it..............its FANTASTIC news and you are going to have another little tiny baby, and your little baby theo will be a big brother!!!...............ok..enough!

honeyapple · 24/09/2009 16:40

hi greedy- yes good idea about TTC together- in a few years of course- and not together- as such...(could you be anymore excited for chooster?)

rainbow- you are much more sensible than me- re layers/ clothes/ hats for babies- so Lottie- just ignore me- my children are never properly dressed .

(but I still think there is a lot of overly complicated baby gear out there...)

that's a lot of from me today...

honeyapple · 24/09/2009 16:41

greedy- BTW made me laugh about moany PG women- I can't stand them either- what will i do???
