ooooh very good tee - I think she is happy crying hedgepig

lilibet · 23/01/2009 14:34

Oh I am so pleased for you Tee

Hugs and no calorie cake all round

hedgepig · 23/01/2009 14:40

ahhh you are probably right MrsB, I had a crying baby in my arms at the time. The crying baby is now asleep after 3 sips of his bottle grrrr

mrsboogie · 23/01/2009 14:42

oooh naughty baby hedgepig - I have to confess that when D does that it goes straight in the fridge for later!

hedgepig · 23/01/2009 14:43

I am very tempted to do the same. He looks soooo cute when he is asleep ahhh

BonzoDoodah · 23/01/2009 14:48

Excellent news Tee. And the no dancing would have been devastating for me. I Adore dancing. Mum bought me a T-shirt that says "I dance because I'm alive". I danced salsa until I was 8 1/2 months preggers last time.

MrsB Have you got the recipe for that morrocan bean soup - just the sound of it is yum.

JJ - looked at your pics for the first time - what little cuties. And love the fish-pie pic. Great way to start.

jw - sorry your veg box is so rubbish. Really complain and give them one more chance. (notmeaning to go on but for comparisson) ours is really high quality - always crisply fresh. Root veg have soil on but if you read about the processes they use to scrub the soil off veg (like shipping to Poland and back) then you wouldn't want it. I've never found insects in the bag. (found a tiny slug on a lettuce once - but I'd rather that than pesticides any day - the slug washes off).

Just had steak and ale pie and chips at the pub for lunch ... am now waddling and wheezing. Not much room left in these pants now!

Tee2072 · 23/01/2009 14:54

Yes, happy crying!!

mrsboogie · 23/01/2009 15:26

fraid I don't bonzo - all the the others are Nigel Slater recipes but that one is a cheat - I will just fry some onions, garlic, celery, red peppers and anything else I find in the fridge that might suit, add to boiled chickpeas and lentils and add in a dollop of some Marks and Spencer's spicy cous cous paste which I bought the other day. Then at then end add chopped mint and coriander and serve with a dollop of Harissa on top.

cheaty but yummy.

hedgepig · 23/01/2009 15:30

that's not cheaty MrsB it has ingredients you have to chop up in it

jeanjeannie · 23/01/2009 15:42

Afternoon all. tee those results are FAB!!! How brilliant - i'm so thrilled for you - I really am. See, told ya it'd be fine

Oh DP has been to Costco and bought blinkin choccy croissants NO!!! They're in the kitchen - I can hear them....listen...."eat me, eat me - you know you want to" Can you hear them? can you?

mrsB I with hedgepig - if it's got ingredients that need to be chopped - then it aint cheating! We've got moroccan lamb tonight - it's a Friday fave.

Had lovely playdate and nursery - been a good day at JJ towers. Have failed to get wellies for Iris though - seems size 6 evaporate off the face of the earth

bonzo MMmmm, steak and Ale pie - nice. You need elasticted waists!

mrsboogie · 23/01/2009 15:57

oh nooes jj not fair!

My OH is still eating his way through that box of yummy choccy biccies from Xmas. Every now and then he gets them out and starts eating them and after he's had about ten I will snap and go "how many is that you've had now?" "WILL YOU PLEASE PUT THEM AWAY!"

very very tempting but I have amazed myself by not wavering (apart from one teeny weeny waver once)

jeanjeannie · 23/01/2009 16:22

I've GONE! I've waivered! I've had one They MADE me....they MADE me

mrsboogie · 23/01/2009 16:36

quick! back on the wagon jj it never happened..

johnworf · 23/01/2009 17:53

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm pain au chocolate....I'm drooling over my keyboard. I'm tempted to snarf one off you JJ. Oh how I so wish I was having one...or two...or more

Had a good afternoon of retailness with DD#1 and lunch out. Very nice too. I saw a beautiful cashmere scarf in M&S and said to DD#1 oh I so love this. It had no price on it but similar around were £20. Anyhoo DD#1 said oh just get it and treat yourself. So I passed it to lady at the till and she told me it was £59.95!!!!!! And that was the end of that! Even she was amazed telling the other assistants "can you believe it? A scarf costing £60?!"

Great news on the test results tee All is well and you can sleep [sorta] tonight Yippee!

I'm so wishing for a treat for tea tonight. I've done so well up until now and...I had to buy a new jacket today and it's a comfortable size 16. I was thinking my old one was huge on me. Yes I was Hattie Jacques in the before pic

hedgepig · 23/01/2009 18:45

£59 for a scarf, I thought there was a credit crunch/recession on.

jeanjeannie · 23/01/2009 19:46

*brushes self off and gets back on wagon

Well, I've just eaten an orange - I've heard they cancel out bad treats

HOW MUCH for a scarf??!! Actually I can believe it - so, I'm thinking you are indeed a woman of fine tastes jw I'm still not looking at any clothes till I've got to a 12 - I'm refusing to purchase any more size 14s. Hahaha if i keep eating bloomin choccy croissants then I'm gonna be waiting a heck of a long time!

jeanjeannie · 24/01/2009 08:45

Morning. Feeling sorry for myself - have sore throat, runny nose and a pounding head I shall limp through the day with a far-away gaze and plenty of moaning

Oh I see Ulrika won Celeb BB.....well, she is one of us oldies - we're all the rage!

Anyone doing anything exciting today?

johnworf · 24/01/2009 10:04

JJ sorry to hear you've got the dreaded lurgy Lots of paracetamol, honey & lemon and sympathy from OH is obviously demanded today

Not up to much. Still chivvying DH along to get these accounts done. However saturday at Worf Towers is when the remote usually gets stuck on Sky Sports and DH stuck to sofa. Funny coincidence that isn't it?

Oh yeah, that scarf was absolutely lovely but no way could I pay that amount. I'm bidding on an Amanda Wakeley one on Ebay instead

I saw Ulrika win BB and was the best of a bad lot imho. Went to bed shortly after it as was feeling dodgy. DH talked me into having a curry as 'it was Friday, I've been doing so well for so long and I deserve a treat' ya de ya...so I fell for it and then felt ill. Serves me right. All that crap in my system obviously wasn't welcome.

Been to supermarket while K and DH are still in bed so jobs are pretty much done for today. I'm thinking about sorting out my wardrobe and doing some selling on Ebay. I've got lots of K's stuff that she's out of and she's busting out of her crib like the Incredible Hulk Big cot time soon methinks.

I meant to say y'day I read that Sarah Parish's 8 month old baby daughter had died last week at home from a heart condition. How sad that was. Remember seeing her on This Morning when she had just announced she was pregnant and she was glowing. Absolutely horrid news.

Turning to DM news...what the hell is Jordan aka Katie Price/Andre wearing?????? And I'm loving the new ad for Cadburys with the eyebrow wigglers. If you haven't seen it it's here I'm thinking of doing a home video with K and DSS...I'm seeing K farting in her nappy and DSS doing the trump thing under the armpit to the tune of The Offspring's 'Pretty Fly for a White Guy'

Tee2072 · 24/01/2009 12:00

Morning all.

JJ feel better soon. Nothing worse than the lurgy!

Just got back from shopping. If any of my fellow preggies still need clothes, I just got two pairs of nice trousers at H&M for £5 each! So big sale on there! Also big sale on non-maternity for the rest of you!

jeanjeannie · 24/01/2009 12:52

Arf'tnoon [snotty nose emoticon]

Well, everyone now feeling yuk - but we're attempting to go off to Windsor after Iris' nap - visit the shops - they're nice there. tee I shall indeed go to H&M - big sale=good news

jw accounts - they're a pain. DP is so good he whizzes through his VAT every quarter, singing away to himself so by the time it comes to tax return time he's so organised it's annoying!

That Cadbury's ad is hilarious - even more so for us as the little girl looks like a kiddy version of our mate across the road!

We've got to get Verity some stuff - she's now out of 9 mnths and needs 1yr and up No point in cutting the toes out of the babygroes - it's her thighs too - they won't popper-up

So horrifically sad about Sarah Parish's baby - just devastating. I react so badly to sad news about children since having the girls. I think it's a mum/parent thing.

OMG - that would be hilarious - you must make that video, you must

May see if I can grab a nap.

mrsboogie · 24/01/2009 12:56

mornin all

Taking D to grandparents then off to the supermarket so can't stop for long - he little bugger refused to go to sleep until nearly 2am last night. All evening and right the way through the night he was demanding playtime and would make a very annoying hmmm hmmmm hmmmm (meaning let me up outta here now)sound if we so much as tried to put him in his bouncy chair or bed. Am shattered.

Was v surprised by Ulrika's win - she was one of the least popular by all accounts and the thick voters didn't like her - but I think the ones who were "supposed" to win shot themselves in the foot in one way or another and I think he female voters may have been sick of all the male machismo in there.

Sorry to hear you have the lurgy jj hot whiskies with honey and cloves for you - its the only thing!!

mrsboogie · 24/01/2009 12:57

I mean afternoon all

duchesse · 24/01/2009 14:55

Afternoon all. I just feel the need to a quick brag about my PFB's GCSE predictions wot just came in the post: 6 As (although some are really A*s) and 4 Bs. We're hoping he can summon up some motivation to shove those Bs up to As. He says he wants to.

hedgepig · 24/01/2009 15:32

Afternoon, we have just finished out RSPB garden bird watch and saw lads of stuff. B even concentrated for 20 mins which is pretty good for a 5yr old boy.
The bad news is the buggy has a puncture boo.

I have well and truly fallen off the wagon today, biccies and chocolate, I'm just so tired I have no wil power.

Splendid GCSE predictions Duchess, and good he is aiming to work on the B's too.

Poor MrsB and no sleep 'till 2 hopefully you can get a snooze today.

johnworf · 24/01/2009 19:09

Wow Duchesse fab news re the predicted grades. Well done.

Sounds like you've had a good afternoon hedgepig. B must have been enjoying the birds to pay attention for such a long time (in the LO's world that is). I've had a chocolate bar today hedgepig but it's ok. Just means more time on the Wii Fit and I have been for a long walk with K today in her pram.

Eugh @ 2am mrsb. What a naughty boy. Hopefully you'll manage to catch up tonight if he behaves himself.

Can't believe Verity is in 1 year old clothes! Blimey....you must have fertiliser in your BM JJ
