Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 14:29

OK - not as bad as I feared....
I'm XX 3lbs

table so far reads:
Lilibet - lost 1lb
JW - lost 7lb
Mrs B - lost 1lb
jeanjeannie - gained 1lb

I shall try harder next week. Tonight we have steak and salad and I'm going to start doing soups with chickpeas as thickners.

Plus I've done 20 mins on stepper today. Most embarrasing though as there are no curtains on our bay window - as DP is raising the ceiling to allow for blinds. So there is me - on stepper - while lads from down the road are shouting and clapping

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 14:33

Wot jw? Katherine called your name Blimey - you want to get yourself onto some of those "my 7 month old child is soooooo clever" threads

Oooo, ooooo, just had an email and we've been invited to a wedding in June - in Washington State - which is sooo close in time and proximity to DPs Timber Framing Guild of America (how geeky is your OH?!!) annual meet up. I'm off to check air fares

lilibet · 13/01/2009 14:45

jj?????

Timber Framing Guild of America???

And Iris - bless her

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 14:53

Yeah lilibet I know - geek alert! ..... went to the timber meeting in the UK when I was 7 mths preggie...camping we were My inflatable bed got a puncture

DP is a carpenter/builder and into timber frame constructions....builds lovely stuff if you're ever interested...currently pricing up an organgerie for a drummer of a 1970s pop band-turned science teacher

He's into new innovations with timber and the US is THE place.....so he wants to got to the convention again. £362 is cheapest fare for adults...MMMmm

Baby name news: What do we think of Charlotte Church's name for DS....Dexter?

And best yet - Lee Ryan of Blue (fame?) his DS........RAYN (lee Amethyst)....cos it's an annagram of Ryan....

mrsboogie · 13/01/2009 14:57

I like Dtexter but I watch the tv show so I now associate it with serial killers

Rayn - PAH! silliness

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 15:02

Daily Mail: WHAT are those heels like on POSH?!! And that coat?! She looks like an S&M mistress...[disapproving emoticon]

Plus - Debbie Harry - oooo eeer - now that's good plastic surgery!

hedgepig · 13/01/2009 15:13

I met a little Dexter tyhe other day, he was a sweet little boy.
Rayn - now that is an anagram that I can even get.

I have actually lost some weight - 3lb woopee. Well I think I have my eyes are so bad that I was squinting to read my ancient scales, luckily I have an optician appointment tomorrow. I think new varifocal lenses will be in order so if you hear of a bank robbery in South Cambs it was me funding my new glasses .

Lilibet - lost 1lb
JW - lost 5lb
Mrs B - lost 1lb
jeanjeannie - xx 3 lb gained 1lb
Hedgepig - XX stone 12lb lost 3lb

off to meet the school bus, at least it isn't raining today.

lilibet · 13/01/2009 15:20

We have someone at church who has just called their son Dexter.

Rayn - no, no, no, no, no.

Posh - ouch!!

Debbie Harry - bloody hell - even her arms look good

I think Winston Fox is very cute!!

mrsboogie · 13/01/2009 15:51

it never ceases to amaze me how Posh can walk in those heels without going over - ok limo to red carpet maybe but she goes everywhere in them. I would spend more time on my arse then stood up if I tried it.

Anyone see the 80k diamond encrusted Birkin she had on her arm the other day? One of only three made in the world and she had to have one. Seems very sad that she has to go to those lengths to prove her status.

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 16:27

A non-diamond Birkin is about 80K isn't it?!!

lilibet I think little Winston is tres cute too.

tee hope you got on OK today at your OB appointment

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 16:28

hedgepig well done you!
Boooo to varifocals - they cost ££$$$$!!!

FloriaTosca · 13/01/2009 16:47

Good Grief but you lot can talk!!!! It has taken me hours to catch up!
at the June thread ...fab answers Ermintrude and Tee
Personally I'm not terribly keen on the name Dexter, probably because we go to Talkfirst and that is the name of the jester puppet they use.
Hi Loganberry I'm a bit of a part timer on here...due to lack of time not lack of inclination .. I had my pfb Ds 15months ago at 43 and am currently working (without much hope)on Dh to try for #2.
ladymac Wonderful that Elizabeth is doing so well...it must be lovely to watch her blossoming so quickly.
ermintrude thank you for the best laugh ever with your refound libido story I really needed that!

We have had a busy, stressful and sad weekend, while we were ripping out the second bathroom in preparation for turning it into a wet room and coping with Alex teething (great huge molars!) one of our dear friends being admitted to the local hospice and passed away yesterday ...so terribly sad,she was only 49 and had been fobbed off by the NHS for 10 yrs that her womens problems were due to her excess weight, she finally went for a private consultation and was diagnosed with untreatable ovarian cancer
Well done all those who have lost weight ...I will admit I have not been 100% but surprisingly have lost 4lb! so ;
Lilibet - lost 1lb
JW - lost 5lb
Mrs B - lost 1lb
jeanjeannie - xx 3 lb gained 1lb
Hedgepig - XX stone 12lb lost 3lb
FloriaTosca - XX stone 10lb lost 4lb

Tee2072 · 13/01/2009 16:48

Hi girls!

Yup, good appointment today. Glucose levels good, Endo pleased. Had a quick scan, measuring right on track. Blood pressure fine. I'm a model knocked up broad!

Hate the name Dexter.

Rayn is just stupid.

80k????????????????????? Guess they're not feeling the credit crunch...

hedgepig · 13/01/2009 17:42

well done Tee fantastic on the bloods.

Floria well done too on the weight loss and ((big hugs)) for your the loss of you friend.

We are making Dr Who cookies (from a packet) my nerves are jangling I am such a control freak I find cooking with children incredibly trying.

What on earth is a Birkin???? and can I have one to sell to pay off the mortgage

mrsboogie · 13/01/2009 17:53

yes, well done tee on being a healthy mommy!

also well done to hedgepig jw and floria for being slimmers of the week. apols if I left anyone off! Hopefully the rest of us will be joining you next week at the top of the class.

I hope we haven't put loganberry off with our fatbusting pregnancy thread

A Birkin is a handbag hedgepig an A list handbag - usually they cost a couple of grand but Posh has one that cost the same as a one bedroom flat.

hedgepig · 13/01/2009 18:25

Oh a handbag! I'm not really a handbag sort of girl much prefer a rucksac.

I'm sure you will be top of the class next week too MrsB.

johnworf · 13/01/2009 19:16

hedgepig I wear varifocals and they're not that expensive...well, not that much more than normal specs I don't think.

I've just got a new handbag but it isn't a Birkin...not even close. It's one of these and my DS#1's girlfriend works in House of Fraser so I got a discount too

Still half way sewing this bloody toga for DSS's assembly tomorrow. It's about Romans I think Also had the HV here today with a student. Quick visit as I'm perfect! ha!

Well done tee on your visit being a good un.

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 20:00

Evening all....*hangs head in shame at being bottom of the weight loss class

floria oh I'm so sorry about your friend HUGE ((((hugs))) And bless poor Alex and the nasty, evil molars.

tee Fab news - well done you on being A-OK

hedgepig how are the Dr Who cookies? Are you still all in one piece, looking serene and lovely ala Nigella and not even a little bit flustered??

Cool handbag jw Top Marks for the HOuse of Fraser discount Cor, I could run-a-muck in Wycombe with discount at HOF!

Settling down for Holby and then early night as I'm shattered. What is it at the moment with TV and religion? Every trailer seems to be for a programme about some belief or other. Is religion the new Property?

johnworf · 14/01/2009 08:04

Meant to say Floria so sad to hear of your friend I know that when DH's mum went into a hospice in Feb last year it was only a matter of days she was there before she died but the staff were fantastic and really helped at the end.

Yeah JJ very pleased with my purchase. I managed to get over £100 off the retail price and she tells me they are selling off jewellery to the staff! She bought a £145 necklace picked up for a fiver! I've told her to inform me immediately should any more come up for grabs!

Darn it, I missed Holby last night as I was sewing this bloody toga!

As for religion not really noticed any more on the tv than before (but then again I watch tv rarely these days). But, I was talking to my DS#2 on Sunday and saying to him 'now we must go to mass before we have K's welcoming ceremony' and he looked at me with such 'oh no!' eyes. Bear in mind he used to be an altar boy and they all went to catholic schools. He then piped up 'well I'll skip that bit if you don't mind'. DH was laughing his head off so DS#2 says 'well, it's not like I believe in God or anything'

More conflicting advice from HV y'day. Says that K could be well into being weaned by now as it's her actual age not her corrected age you go off. When I asked my MW she told me she was talking rubbish and it's the corrected age. I'm going to compromise and get back into the saddle. I stopped it last week as her backside was exploding all over the place. Try again with rusks and see what happens.

Can't believe Dai Llewellyn has died. Mind you his lifestyle was not good. He can party on in the afterlife with Princess Margaret now I expect.

Did anyone see the baby born to the ice skater who was kept alive by machine after she had a brain haemorrage y'day? Reminded sooooo much of all the stuff K had going on in her incubator

And Kelly Brook joins Britains got (no) Talent show. What is it with Simon Cowell these days? I wonder if his life is also formula written????

jeanjeannie · 14/01/2009 09:34

morning all - loads of sleep and exploding BOOBIES!!!

Dai Llewellyn died? Oh, I love a good fun-time playboy. Love the idea of him and pricess Mags partying on down in the afterlife Those HOF bargins are ridiculous - it would be rude not too

We were told - and I think it was in my Bliss book too - that prems are supposed to be weaned between 5-7 mnths non-corrected age. But each baby is so different. Look at Verity - non-prem, a little fatty and can't manage 3 meals a day without throwing up or crying! We're still just playing around with it. I'd have thought non-corrected for K would be really early - especially as nutri-prem sorts out their iron supplies - which are supposed to diminish after 6 mths.

Kelly Brook ... Simon Cowell...MMMMmm, my gaydar goes off with him. I can't bear the man.

Thick, thick fog and off to a playgroup - if I can find it!

Tee2072 · 14/01/2009 09:45

Morning All

Floria I am so sorry about your friend. One of the women I work with just lost her mum. Three weeks from diagnosis to the end. So very quick.

£5 JW! Wow. Remind me to make some friends with the shop girls at HOF!

Word of advice, if the PA to your boss tells you to do something, don't tell her you'll do it in 4 days, when the deadline was 3 days ago. Your boss will probably tell you, once again, that a word from her is an order from him. I love my CEO.

johnworf · 14/01/2009 10:08

JJ K is 7.5 months old actual so guess thats now I should be weaning then???

mrsboogie · 14/01/2009 10:10

mornin all

Sympathy vote pls : Am in agony having pulled or otherwise fecked a muscle in my shoulder blade doing Davina - have had this before in same shoulder necessitating special chair at work. It last for weeks. Typing is painful and the little man is refusing to even sit in his bouncy chair for a few minutes. Spent all of last night tossing and turning trying to find a position in which I could sleep but he was awake at 2am, 4am and 6am again.

ooops exploding bottom - (him not me) must away!

Tee2072 · 14/01/2009 10:25

oh no mrsb! Have you tried putting something hot on it, like a heating pad? That can help.

johnworf · 14/01/2009 10:29

tee DS#1 works in Schuh so I get 25% off my shoes and his girlfriend works in the bag section in House of Fraser so I'm in heaven Shoes and bags....shoes and bags...mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Gah @ office politics. Don't miss it at all. If me and my DH (and working partner) disagree I just don't cook his tea
