Findus has gone! I'm with scottishmummy on junk food of choice. I'd have wasted away as a student without those.

AND Land of Leather....MMmmm, DFS next? Dreams head office is near us and I read last year they were trying to sell and couldn't....wonder if they'll be next. Oh it's retail-death bingo

jw good to hear the milk was handed over.

Am NOT liking the foam hand Gladitorial humiliation

ladymac I'm also in a baking/cooking frame of mind which isn't good for the diet. You can get away with it - eating for two and all that! I know that Rachel woman is very good...but she looks so pretty, fresh-faced, with her soft Irish accent that I end up shouting "She can BOG OFF" at the telly, in sheer jealousy! Forgot to ask - how is Elizabeth doing - and how are you coming along with your sign language? Was it Makaton?

loganberry I was horrendously tired for 12 weeks - beyond being able to work through it. I found with both pregnancies that the beginning was the worst time. I wasn't even particularly sick - just mind-numbingly tired. Poor you.

hedgepig · 12/01/2009 16:40

OMG does this mean no more Findus Crispy Pancakes haven't had one for years but I loved them when I was a kid (maybe if I had bought more they would still be in business)

ladymac · 12/01/2009 16:49

jeanjeannie have you noticed how fab her kitchen is too? I get very that she's so trim, does the woman not eat any of her own food?

Elizabeth is doing really well, we've had a huge breakthrough with the hearing aids which she now wears for most of the day. Only takes them out when she's tired as she sucks her thumb and plays with her left ear She's picked up so many signs, we're learning British Sign Language and the signing teacher is very impressed with her young pupil , as is the speech therapist who said her signing was very sophisticated for such a little one (proud mummy emoticon)

She had her first speech therapy session last friday (we're so timetabled up, that's why I'm not on here so much) and the therapist has given us 'mmmm' and the 'b' sound to work on. She is really trying to copy words now but still struggling with consonants. Her favourite at the moment is 'eeow' rather than 'miaow' when we show her a picture of a cat. And she finally knows her name and turns round when we say it, hurrah!

that's fab ladymac I have been wondering how she is doing but like you say - you haven't been on much -much more important things to do!

god help hat couple with he siamese pregnancy - twins sharing one body. only 20% chance of survival. and them years trying for a baby too. They are braver than I would ever be.

mrsboogie · 12/01/2009 16:57

Rachel Allen is up the duff herself at the mo.

ladymac · 12/01/2009 17:00

By the way tee we had Elizabeth in with us for almost a year but that was partly due to dd1 living with us in what was supposed to be E's room. But I've always kept mine in with us whilst breastfeeding as it's so much easier to just reach over in to the Moses basket without having to get out of bed and go in to another room to get them. I can't remember who else mentioned it but I too have heard the theory about it being safer for babies to sleep close to their parents. Can't back it up or reference it though, haha! I think I felt more secure too having them right where I could keep my eye on them.

We were laughing the other day about how we'd tried to be quietish having sex during the year Elizabeth was in our room. Now we know she wouldn't have heard us anyway

I just saw that about the siamese twins mrsb. I don't think I could go through with that. Apparently she (mum) is a devout Roman Catholic. I feel terribly sorry for them that they've been trying all this time and now they get this awful news.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 12/01/2009 17:13

God me neither ladymac. Don't know whether the religion is a blessing or a curse there.

It takes a wee bit of getting used to - shagging with the baby in the room - especially if you are doing it to the sound of a Tomy star lullaby while teddy bears in pyjamas frolic across the ceiling...

Tee2072 · 12/01/2009 17:37

ladym that's great news about E and her hearing aids and such. Little ones are so resilient!

johnworf · 12/01/2009 18:22

Full marks to Betsy! Hasn't she done really well in such a short period of time?

Is Rachel Allen the irish woman with blonde hair who effortlessly cooks, cleans up, and produces stunning dishes and makes me sick with her niceness?

Not read about the conjoined twins yet. What a blow after trying for a child to get this problem. Would be a hard one but personally, I'd terminate. It'd be so hard to do so but couldn't go through what that young couple did who lost them both

loganberry12 · 12/01/2009 18:54

hi ladymac im 42 {shock}lol

mrsboogie · 12/01/2009 19:00

She is jw

if anything this case is worse (not that it can get much worse than both dying) but the chances of survival are exceedingly slim.

jeanjeannie · 12/01/2009 20:00

ladymac how fab....well done to you both *awards double gold stars. I kind of guessed that you would have a busy schedule.

Am still pmsl laughing at the sex with Betsy in the room reference! Probably TMI but too bad!...one night (once the stitches on the c-section weren't about to go pop!) me a DP thought a bit of 'relations' would be nice however there was Verity next to us in her cot and once we got our heads around that, Bob the cat turned up. Couldn't do 'it' with an audience. I don't like the way cats stare at you when you're in full swing

I have noticed Rachel Allen's kitchen....pah Have you seen her hubby? [phwooor emoticon] and she's got gorgeous kids.....ah, but is she happy?!!!!!

johnworf · 13/01/2009 07:44

She's probably cock a hoop with that set up (don't forget the telly fee on top and probably no money worries to boot). I know I would be

Early night for moi last night. Feel fabby today after all the traumas that Monday brought.

Ok ladies, here is my weigh in:

(cue drum roll)

XX 7lbs

Yes, that is a loss of 5lbs but to be fair first weigh in was done in the evening and this one I've done first thing in the morning. I'm going to take the 7lbs as a true weight as I've not eaten anything and not wearing much so first weight was probably a bit out.

Hope you all claimed your free stay fresh bags when you put your Lakeland order in!

jeanjeannie · 13/01/2009 09:24

Morning all. Tooo scared to weigh myself as it's about a 5lb INCREASE I WILL do it today and post. Honest. I did 20 mins on the stepper and look no thiner but hey, my thighs ache.

Verity is back to her 2 hourly wake and wail

I'm running out of things to do locally to amuse the girls....feel the need to get out without stuffing them in the Phil & Teds and hurtling around town! There is a great looking soft play place threatening to open but it seems the credit crunch has stopped it halfway through

johnworf · 13/01/2009 09:30

Aye JJ. Roll on the long, balmy, summer days huh? Free entertainment

EEEK @ 2 hourly waking! You must be shattered

ermintrude13 · 13/01/2009 09:33

Hello Ladies
I was in the smokey all day yesterday and signed up with a lovely new agent who is going to try to sell my next novel for me, and she seems very much on the ball, so I'm very happy - could do with sorting that out before I drop.

Tee I just checked back on the June thread and saw what you meant! Friggin' Nora, dog with a bone is right! Thing is, I know it's a Mayhew quote but read it quoted elsewhere so it might not be in that book but I can't be fagged to dig it out for our mutual friend in case she mistakes me for someone who gives a fk! JJ I'm relieved - IYKWIM - that you've had a run-in with her too; makes me feel a lot better.

JW take the 5lb glory, well done! And for all who haven't lost weight, don't give up!

LOL Ladymac at your unnecessarily muffled marital relations . Very late last night - first time I've been awake at midnight for ages - I got the horn for the first time since becoming pg and thought DH would be overjoyed to have a quickie - only to discover that he'd - ahem - had one off at the wrist earlier and so could have gone on for hours. . Eventually I had to say - Enough already! I'm falling asleep! - and left the poor man in full, erm, ardour.

Hurrah for the anonymity of mumsnet!

And welcome loganberry. Sorry to lower the tone with such filth; usually we discuss sociology, politics and economics

johnworf · 13/01/2009 10:41

lmfao @ "had one off at the wrist earlier" !!!!

Surely quote of the year

Tee2072 · 13/01/2009 10:55

Morning ladies.

Well I slept for 10 hours last night! Was falling asleep in front of computer so DH made me go to bed...at 8:45! I fell asleep about 9 and slept right through to the alarm at 7. Best sleep I've had in ages.

So if you want to cure insomnia, get knocked up. And then don't sleep ever again once the baby is born!

hedgepig · 13/01/2009 10:57

ermintrude PMSL at your DH, just the sort of thing my DH would do. So have you had a book published before? or is this your 1st?

O had his 2nd injections this morning, he is so brave only cried a little bit.

must go and find the scales I suppose. Well done JW

JJ I cant get intimate either with a baby in the room, silly really but just can't.

mrsboogie · 13/01/2009 11:03

haha ermintrude I was about to say your "next" novel eh? that infers there has been a first one and ask what it is - but I won't bother having read the end of your post

AAAAARGHHH I effing hate automated cold calls - thay always wake D up. They are illegal! B*STARDS!!!!

Ahem sorry.

Now, weight - weighed myself again this morning and just to be sure moved the scales around a bit to make sure they were correctly balanced (as you do)- three weighings said I am two pounds lighter than last week and one said I am the same. So I went on the wii which says I am 1lb lighter. Since that is keeping track of me I will go with that.

Me: xx stones and 5lb

I don't mind telling you that one measly pound has been hard won - or lost.
Oh well, onwards and err downwards.

JW 7lbs?

mrsboogie · 13/01/2009 11:08

oh tee yes pregnancy does cure insomnia nicely - then turns it on its head and leaves you perfectly able to sleep but never allowed to.
Speaking of which D was terrible last night - awake at 2am, 4am and 6am. Drinking only one or two ounces then back to sleep. He was in and out of our bed and crying for no particular discernible reason.

Am cream crackered

Oh but - He did his first proper laughing out loud last night. For me.

lilibet · 13/01/2009 11:11

Morning all.

I have lost 1lb - which is amzing as I have eaten and drunk excessive amounts over the past week - must be all the hula'ing!

So

Lilibet - lost 1lb
JW - lost 7lb
Mrs B - lost 1lb

anyone else want to add themselves?

Ermintrude - after a psot like that you have got to give us a few hints about your books - I really wnat to read one

Has anyone seen the story about the girl in america who has sold her virginity for £2.5million to fund her college education

JJ I think you have misread my post - then again with the littel sleep you're getting I'm surprised you can read at all. There isn't any bad langauge in Slumdog, it's subititled

johnworf · 13/01/2009 11:16

No lilibet I'm at XX 7lbs so I've lost 5lbs! Wish I had lost 7lbs!!!!

Lilibet - lost 1lb
JW - lost 5lb
Mrs B - lost 1lb

johnworf · 13/01/2009 11:20

Btw, I've completely cut out bread, potatoes (apart from the odd sweet potato), rice. Basically any carbs (unless porridge counts as carbs???) I'm having porridge for brekky, banana snack, boiled egg or ham salad for lunch plus fruit and bit of natural yog, another piece of fruit mid afternoon, and evening meal is piece of fish/meat with as many veg as I like (but no potatoes) plus piece of fruit. Sometimes have meat/fish with stir fry instead.

I'm only drinking white tea (no milk obviously), diet coke or water.
