I've had a few different threads for loads of goings on over the last couple of months, so many unanswerable questions and different outcomes were possible but it seems at last we have some full and final answers.

I've had another scan today, good news is everything seems to be working properly, the placental/cord flow is very good, the babies heart looks healthy, he seems happy and is back to being head down. Bad news is my waters are low again and he has only put on 4oz in the last month, he was estimated to be 5lb 1oz a month ago, now they say 5lb 5oz, which although they are concerned, because everything else seems fine, they aren't talking of whipping him out just yet.

I have to go in on Friday morning and Tuesday morning next week for monitoring, and then the following Friday (Boxing day) evening they are going to induce me, I will be 38+6 then.

They have warned us that he may need some extra care, not anything major just extra feeding and warmth monitoring so we might have to stay in the hospital for a while longer than normal but fingers crossed he will be OK, and hospital or home, that is the main thing.

So through everything that has happened we seem to finally be on the last stretch, thanks for everyone's advice and support over the last couple of months, it is all very much appreciated

Now all we need is a NAME!!

Cannotbelieve your time has come along so fast! Prob feels like an eternity to you though after that worried start!
Best of luck with everything x x

KateF · 16/12/2008 15:54

Good luck NatalieJane. I have followed your story as I was in a similar situation with dd1. She arrived at 38+6 (day before induction!) and weighed 5lb 4oz. Had a week in SCBU but was then fine - she is now 9 and performing in a professional Panto . Look forward to seeing a birth announcement.

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/12/2008 16:13

Oh NJ I've missed all this with being busy with my own ds. Best of luck to you and your ds.

Do you have contenders for a name?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 16/12/2008 18:33

Thanks everyone, it really is a relief to have a date, I know I could theoretically still go in to labour before then but I know the chances are slim-ish so I'm not so worried about a BBA, and the kids, and everything else.

As for names, I had a thread, will go and search for it and link it, be warned though, between DH and I, the name thing is not an easy task!

NJ-I'm glad you and baby are doing ok, and I'm glad you have a light at the end of the tunnel now.

MerlinsBeard · 17/12/2008 13:40

NJ i can't believe that you finally are getting to the end with a date and everything!

Glad things look ok so far, a word with the scans though...i had a scan the day before DS3 arrived and he was guestimated at 9lbs - he was 6lb 11!! If heis that diddy then i recommend 'tiny baby' clothes from next and prem/size 0 nappies (i didn't know and poor ds3 was swamped by both in the first few weeks!)

laughalot · 17/12/2008 13:41

Oh lordie nat I dident even realise you where having problems, nothing is ever straight forward with your pregnancies are they my dear. Well all the best luck in the world xxxxx

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 17/12/2008 14:26

Hi,
dd was 5lb 6 and born at 36 wks. My waters broke at 29 +4 and i was in hospital until i was induced because dd had stopped growing and my waters were very very low.

She was fine, we were in hospital just over a week as she was having a little trouble keeping warm and was jaundiced but she is now a strapping 8 yr old.

I'm sure you and baby will be absolutely fine and I look forwarfd to reading your "arrival" thread.

elkiedee · 17/12/2008 14:28

NJ, thanks for the update and I hope all goes well (from another due in January)

Lulumama · 17/12/2008 14:28

I AM HEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEE!

i am so ready !

you 'sound' more positive than last week , Nat, so glad he will be here soon xxx

rrrayray · 17/12/2008 14:43

All the best xxx

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/12/2008 15:37

Thank you thank you thank you

I am still swinging from being so relieved that the end is in sight and that everything seems OK, or at least nothing too serious, to then getting wound up about why he is so small, especially compared to the other two, had nasty dreams that made me think about things I don't want to think about, but I am trying to look on the bright side, if the placenta and cord flow is OK, and his movements are great then that is all very good yes?

We are off out to the dreaded Mothercare and Next tonight to get some tiny supplies. I'd only bought the second size nappies and 0-3m size clothes, you just assume that they will get bigger each time don't you?

Just keeping everything crossed that he hasn't put the weight on due to me being so ill and all the stress surrounding that and not because of something going on with him. I can't decide about the waters, are they low because he isn't growing, or is he not growing because the waters are too low?

The doc did say that small babies tend to be really good feeders and fight their little fight better than some of the bigger babies who have problems so I am holding onto that.
