I've had a few different threads for loads of goings on over the last couple of months, so many unanswerable questions and different outcomes were possible but it seems at last we have some full and final answers.

I've had another scan today, good news is everything seems to be working properly, the placental/cord flow is very good, the babies heart looks healthy, he seems happy and is back to being head down. Bad news is my waters are low again and he has only put on 4oz in the last month, he was estimated to be 5lb 1oz a month ago, now they say 5lb 5oz, which although they are concerned, because everything else seems fine, they aren't talking of whipping him out just yet.

I have to go in on Friday morning and Tuesday morning next week for monitoring, and then the following Friday (Boxing day) evening they are going to induce me, I will be 38+6 then.

They have warned us that he may need some extra care, not anything major just extra feeding and warmth monitoring so we might have to stay in the hospital for a while longer than normal but fingers crossed he will be OK, and hospital or home, that is the main thing.

So through everything that has happened we seem to finally be on the last stretch, thanks for everyone's advice and support over the last couple of months, it is all very much appreciated

Now all we need is a NAME!!

TBH, as much as I do want him out and make sure he's OK, and that his size is just down to me being poorly, I am trying to find the middle ground between feeling as well as I can after this bug/infection I've got now, and before I get poorly with the next bug/infection, the very last thing I want is to run out of steam part way through labour, and it end up in EMCS.

I've said before, but I am convinced that my body has just had enough, for nearly 3 years I've been pregnant, then breastfeeding, then I had the miscarriage, and now pregnant again, with barely a couple of months between it all, I really do think after I've had him, the illnesses/infections will start to get better - or at least I bloody hope so!

Thank you Feb Were you JoFeb?

I actually still feel like shit but it has suddenly hit me that it is Christmas Eve if I had the energy I'd be up doing cartwheels and dancing around the room, but instead I am sat here just about managing to grin my pants off! DH has taken the boy's to MIL's so we can go to the hospital in peace, once the scan is over (obviously if everything is OK) we are going to forget everything else going on and concentrate on christmas, everything we've prepared has just been done on auto pilot, so it is time to get our arses into gear and enjoy us all being here and the festivities before facing whatever is coming with the baby and what sort of condition he is in.

Merry christmas everyone

Just read through the whole thread.

Hope you have had a lovely Christmas and everything is fine.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/12/2008 08:41

Thanks everyone, hope yesterday went well for you all?

The scan was fine, my waters are up a bit on what they were, still too low, but it is a good sign his kidneys are functioning OK, the doppler thingy on the cord and the placenta were both fine. We saw a MW we hadn't seen before after it and she was really positive, saying that smaller babies born at term generally do really well, she did say depending on his size he may have trouble latching on, but we'll get round that if needs be. She put our minds at rest re. what will probably happen when he is born, no one seemed to know if we'd be pretty much left to it and then if there were any problems with his apgar or whatever then they'd be treating him, or if it would all be a bit of a nightmare with doctors piling in and whisking him away before we've even clapped eyes on him etc. but she said they'd obviously be keeping a closer eye on him during the labour, but as long as there is nothing to be concerned about then it should be a fairly peaceful matter, I didn't bother to tell her that peaceful and me labouring don't actually ever go together...!

So, less than 12 hours to go, don't know if I am more happy, scared, frightened, excited, looking forward to it, or dreading it! LOL Bit late now to wonder if giving birth again is a good idea or not I think!

If I can't get back to update myself, I am in touch with some MNers via text, so any news will be floating around on MN somewhere if anyone can be bothered looking for it!

Thanks again everyone xxx
