Is it normal during pregnancy to worry that your baby may be ugly?

I am only saying this as I had this discussion today with a pregnant friend and she agreed that although it is one of the most ridiculous things to think, it does cross her mind and I will admit that it has crossed mine during all 3 of my pregnancies. I think it is a fear of rejecting your child, a bit like animals do.

No,not whether they would be ugly. But before I had kids, I did worry about having stupid kids (not having-a-sen kids, that would be fine, but just a bit dim). However, as soon as dd was born I realised i really didn't care at all as long as she was happy

Yeah I know what u mean Umlellala. My BF is very brainy (despite appearances lol) and I'm reasonably intelligent so I can't really see us having a stupid child but u never know.
I also worry that my child wont be a very likeable child. My friend has a little girl that I just don't particuarly take to and my other friends feel the same, I'd love everybody to love my child.
It makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only person who has these kinda thoughts as when I've mentioned this kinda thing to other people they've said 'oh no you'll love it whatever they look like'. And I suppose they're right but at least now I know I'm not an awful mum who only once a beautiful, clever, popular child.
But yeah you r right, as long as they're happy that's all that matters.
