am still bf ds (10.5 mo) but only at night, am trying to stop altogether... we are ttc but only in the vaguest sense, ie hardly ever manage to have sex....

still no af since got pg last time, did a test a while ago, was neg.

def had sex... ummm i dunno 2? 3? weeks ago, have been feeling weird so did this test, and the other one in the box. now don't know what to think - is it poss that it's just cos i'm testing early? i maen with no missed af and a blurry concept of time it's hard to know...

and yes i know i'll have to test again but i still want someone to tell me what to think!

the test says not to let wee get on test window and i think a bit did on the 1st (+) one.... surely that would not make it show + ??????

god i feel like an idiot asking but any thoughts ladies???

ta xxx

well... update (sorry this is a bit dull everyone!)

waited a good for hours since last pee... did another test... was negative.

so am not doing anything for a few days unless i decide to buy shares in one of the pg test companies! gonna wait few days (would say a week but am not very good at waiting) and then test again first thing in the morning.

find it hard to believe that i could be pg with all these negs! just soooo confused as everyone keeps saying it's practically impossible to get a false positive!

ps thanks to everyone who complimented ds. he is yummy, and mad as a balloon.

xx

I hate to say this but it may have been a chemical pg, this has happened to me last year. I was feeling really faint and sick out of the blue so i took a test cbd and it came up + (really over the moon my af wasnt due for a week or so) so just to check as you do a couple of days later tested with a couple of cheapies and they were all - i was devastated so went and got another cbd and it was - then af came. I went to drs and he explained chemical pg to me.

nolongerchunkybutstillapudding · 09/12/2008 22:23

yep dolly am aware that's poss - my only confusion is that there was no real time between the tests - was literally pos then neg.

if i'm not pg, or even if it's a chemical pg (which effectively means i'm not) then i'm fine with that. am barely coping with the baby i have!!! just would like to be sure what is going on.

thanks for the thoughts, and i hope you have had or will very soon have more luck with getting pg (appalling english, sorry, very tired)

xx

You may have tested as the hormones were dropping? Its horrible to feel in limbo isnt it, i hope you find out soon so you can get on with things xx

Ps im 21 weeks pg now its been a tough road but we got there in the end

rainbowdays · 09/12/2008 23:14

Hi nolongerchunky - have you used the same type of test each time? I am sure you are already aware that some tests are more sensitive than others? It could be that you are still at early days, and that you will get a stronger result in a couple of days.

storkycake · 10/12/2008 10:24

Just had a look at your test again. Can I ask..is that a Sainsburys OB?

2 months before this pg I had a ?chemical pregnancy with a positive result on a Sainsburys OB, but nothing else was coming up +ve.
I'm wondering if it's the same thing, or that Sainsburys are just crap tests.

lasaucisse · 10/12/2008 10:48

I have read that you can get false negative tests but not normally a false positive so there is a good chance you are pregnant but the levels of hormones in your wee are just not high enough to be detected constantly, especially if you have drunk a lot of water. I used two Boots tests when I was a couple of weeks late and both came back negative but I had a nagging suspicion all was not right so I went and got two First Response ones instead as the levels of hormones the tests detect does vary between brands. Both of those were strongly positive and I am now almost seven months gone!
Good luck with testing again and like others on here say try it first thing in the morning.xx

StealthPolarBear · 10/12/2008 13:06

My false +ve was on a sains test

nolongerchunkybutstillapudding · 10/12/2008 22:08

it's their tests then i think storky and stealth. it was a sains own. f@@@kers for messing with our heads eh???????

am now pretty sure am not pg. and actually i'm fine with it for now...

thanks to all who helped me thru all the confusion, specially storky, lou n stealth.

will take another test in a week, maybe af still staying away cos of the nightime bf tho?

thanks again lovelies xx

Hope that you are going to get the answer you want, nlcbsap!

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2008 08:33

another thread about Sainsbury's tests - there seem to be a few, I started a similar one a couple of weeks ago

Glad you are OK. I didn't help, simply hijacked to vent my own disappointment and I feel a bit guilty about that. Sorry.

nolongerchunkybutstillapudding · 13/12/2008 20:00

thanks for the link stealth, read with interest!

have kinda decided am not pg, tho i guess i'll check in a few more days as still no sign of af - guess i'm STILL not ovulating as still bf a couple of times (or so) in the night...

just thought they would have returned by now... and was convinced had some other signs but they could all be ex[;ained away as having other causes... and one + versus about 5 - doesn't seem v convincing.

guess i could help with the 'are sains tests shite?' debate as generally an early mc would mean af appearing, and still nowt here as i said!

oh and you WERE helpful. was good to know it was just possible the + wasn't a + or was gonna get v carried away...

and lou thanks! am not even sure what i want right now... really want a sibling for ds and would like them close in age but am a bit scared tbh, have spent the past 11 months teetering on the edge of pnd, tho think am getting better all the time...

well that was a ramble, eh? sorry! will post when i do next test tho i think it will be -

thanks again xx
