talk to me! am confused. 1 pg test with faint line, needed convincing so took another half hour later and it's neg?

am still bf ds (10.5 mo) but only at night, am trying to stop altogether... we are ttc but only in the vaguest sense, ie hardly ever manage to have sex....

still no af since got pg last time, did a test a while ago, was neg.

def had sex... ummm i dunno 2? 3? weeks ago, have been feeling weird so did this test, and the other one in the box. now don't know what to think - is it poss that it's just cos i'm testing early? i maen with no missed af and a blurry concept of time it's hard to know...

and yes i know i'll have to test again but i still want someone to tell me what to think!

the test says not to let wee get on test window and i think a bit did on the 1st (+) one.... surely that would not make it show + ??????

god i feel like an idiot asking but any thoughts ladies???

can see a line too congrats and ds is most definetly scrummy

you lot are very lovely and also very patient. i feel like a dizzy teenager.

and i'm still not sure at all. if it was just the faint line, fine, but the - one as well has made me reeeeally doubt it. tho understand the idea of hormones not being concentrated enough....

dp won't go n get test. thinks i should chill out and test in a few days...

I had the DH like yours too, finally he gave in and went tesco 24hr and got the tests (both occasions) tel him get shifty on!

just did it... and its neg again

how long was pee in jar sitting for? Because apparently the hcg breaks down after some time. So that might be it.

3 hours ish..in a cupboard in the kitchen!

Its needs to be as fresh as a daisy...or pee!!

Have you got another test? If you have, you can wait for 4hrs(ish) since you did your last pee and try again. It takes a while to build up enough of the hcg to be noticed (i think)

I would get a digital one, wait a day and then do it again with first wee of the morning. It's probably better than worrying about lines, at least you'll see pg or not pg. Good luck!

Can you get a clearblue digital? No confusion over lines.

Am not really confused over the lines.. More that 1 said preg and 2 didn't !

I thought for a positive test there had to be two lines/dots? One to say the test was done correctly and one to say pregnant.

The pic on your profile is definitely a postitive though. It has both lines.

thanks lou - yeah i'm sure it was a positive, think the only doubt was because i really wasn't expecting it due to a distinct lack of trying to get there if you see what i mean! and as it was so faint compared to last time...

however i am now really questioning if the test could somehow have been faulty, without a second + result it doesn't feel like i could really be pg somehow....

newme - i think you're thinking of 1st response tests - they have to have 2 lines in the window if you're pg. with others it's a cross, with the one i did just a line....

I have had the same thing. Test came up positive faintly over the alloted time and then had a negative. Its all very confusing!

hello social, just read your thread! my first one was even within the allowed time (easily under 10 mins)

you are right it's confusing, i can't even work out what i think/want now! if i think i'm not pg then feel like i wish i was, good age gap with ds etc etc, but if i think i am i just start stressing about how i'll cope/the amazing family hol we were planning in feb/how rubbish i was at being pg last time blah blah

am a blithering mess!!!!!!

Had a terrible time last pregnancy also but stiiiilllllll......... Bloody hormones! Am also a mess and know I will be really disappointed if nothing is there....
